GL: Are they really doing this?

I guess if you can not handle fantasy/out of the box shows...maybe soaps are not for you.

Soaps are supposed to be about dramas and not about some stupid comic book crap. Y&R is #1 because they do not have to resort to stupid stuff like this or out of the box crap.

I enjoyed the 15,000 episode even though I think they should have done something more memorable, like having someone recall the rich history that is Guiding Light. I mean they can do camp anytime, which they did yesterday. However that said, when most of those episodes are done it is done as a dream or fantasy, like Reva falling and bumping her head.

Techinally...according to DK this was not that and that is what bothers me the most I believe. No matter where we go from here, this is going to be apart of the wonderful GL history. Plus I found it to be a huge slap in the face that they referred to Harley as "THE GUIDING LIGHT" I mean come on...the writing was awful!!! They should be ashamed.

Anyway...I'm pretending it never happened. LOL.

I think this one is best left forgotten myself. It shall join the ranks of the SSK on Days in stories forever banished from my thoughts.

But before that... Josh is exactly right on one count. The 15,000th episode was very good in that it was characters playing pretty much their complete opposites. But Reva hit her head before this, so we knew all through the show that this wasn't real.

Had this been one of the kids' or Harley's dreams, or Harley fantasizing that she could be a super-mom that had it all, it would have been more enjoyable.

Exactly! Soaps are supposed to be based on real-life. Irna Phillips, Agnes Nixon, and Bill Bell did not write out of the box shows that take you out of the current storylines because they didn't need to write stunts.

If it was written as a dream sequence like the 1992 Election episode, I could've bought it, especially as I said before, if it was a child's dream. The dialogue was so simplistic and corny that I was embarrassed to watch it.

Call me crazy, but I wish that they would STOP being "out of the box." They have done far too much of that lately. Hell, they have done it so much that they have forgotten where the damn box is in the first place!

Intelligent, thought-provoking, character-driven, well-written stories with three-dimensional characters played by talented actors. Is it really all that difficult?

Damn straight. And yes--I know what you are going to say before you say it--we KNOW that change must occur. I think everyone is aware of that. However, we like "evolution," not "revolution." Furthermore, I'd also like for the show to be some semblance of what it was. Not necessarily in the characters per se, but in the stories, focus, tone, etc.

Uhhhhhhhh....

let's just say that that episode never happened...I've pretty much forgot it b/c it was so awful my brain blocked it already.

But my god, if Kreizman has any common sense brain cells left, there will be no sequel.

GL is the last soap that should be attempting stuff like this. If a show like Passions did this, it would be considered campy and original. But when GL does it, it's just embarrassing.

I think they have their Emmy tape! Or maybe this could be submitted for the Razzie's, lol. I haven't watched GL in weeks and the one time I decide to watch I get this. Plus with my Harley hate, that just made it worse.

I actually bought a Marvel comic book today just to see the GL comic strip. LOL! I wanted an X-Men, but they didn't have one, so I got Spider-man. I haven't read it, yet.

The sad thing is that, knowing the Emmys, they'd probably think it was amazing and give the Emmy to GL.

That one episode might have beaten the entire clone storyline as the worst thing in the history of GL.
