Another STELLAR episode, it just seems like thjey are getting better and better.

You could tell almost instantly when Hogan took over cause the episode since he was first listed have just been incredible and filled with tons of emmy-worthy writing and acting.

The ratings BETTER respond to this...its just not fair for the show to be stuck with a 2.5!!!

Well, I have a theory working that Willow is an EJ plant. He pumps Sami for personal information and uses it in his plots. The angel Willow gave Shawn is the same as the one Grandpa Shawn gave to Stephanie or tried to give her. Willow says her Grandpa is named Shawn. Too much coincidence. We knew about Eve and she is dead now so EJ is bound to have others in his employee.

To say that Marlena doesn't spend time with her kids is ignoring the past years. During Langan's time, Marlena spent more time with her kids than with John. She was either talking to Sami about Austin, talking to Belle about Shawn or trying to get them straightened up. She spent so much time with them that it actually annoyed me because all she was was a prop.

If she's a bad mother, what do you call Hope?

I totally disagree with you. She is probably the best mother in Salem right now. She knows how to help people. It's not her fault that she's been the worst treated character in daytime history. But the times she is her normal self, you can tell she is a terrific mother. I think after tomorrow's show, maybe you'll change your mind.

I agree. She has never been away from them by choice (like *cough* other mothers in Salem have).

Oh, Marlena is a bad mother. A lot of it has had nothing to do with the bad happenings to her. This is particularly obvious with Sami. She's just not a mother to that poor girl. Only times I remember her ever being anything remotely like a mom to her have been '99 near-execution and the Austin/Sami non-wedding circa '06, and that was for five seconds.

Well 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 Sami spent bashing Marlena, bashing her husband, her life and everything about her. Nice kid that Samster. Yet Marlena still spent time with her, guided her, loved her, tried to get her help. Marlena fought like hell and was ready to destroy her marriage to get Belle out of harms way (aka Brady who to her WAS a threat, and he threatened Belle to her). She frickin' sold her soul to Stefano to save Sami's life. And in 1995, she didn't care if she sold it to the devil because Curtis looked like he had Sami and she didn't care, she went outside and grabbed her to save her.

As for Marlena "slighting" Sami since 2003. She's spent those years having been taken away from Sami. Before Tony took her mind, she was there everytime Sami needed her.

And the times Marlena hasen't gotten to be there for Sami, has not been by choice. Ever.

An I the only one who doesn't like Shawn and Belle together?? Love the actors, especially the new Shawn, but I just don't like them as a couple. Great to see Marlena again, and I love the shennagins by Lucas and Will. Looking forward to Lumi getting back together. Can't believe Carrie is lecturing Bell, considering all hurt she's caused. Get a life and stop ruining others. Loved Phillip and Claire, he's truly her father.

I agree with the opinion that Days just keeps getting better!

I loved the Sami/EJ/Lucas stuff yesterday. Sami was very mature and lapping up all the attention. EJ was very nearly, perfect in an over-the-top way and then appropriately angry. Lucas was hilarious as the guy defending his "woman". Guess he just remembered Sami being "his" once EJ threw down the gauntlet for Sami. JS really livens up this show. No matter what he turns out to be-villain or hero or somewhere in between, I love seeing him. Ali did look so lovely yesterday.

Loved the Philip and Kate scenes. Poor Philip. Seems he has lost everything. Had to laugh at Kate throwing Victor under the bus to try and mitigate Phil's anger. Oops, didn't work!

All the scenes made sense and the characters seem to be themselves. Shawn went ballistic, but I suppose in his mind, he, like Philip, has lost everything too! I wonder if we will soon hear the hammers of reconstruction over at the Kiriakis mansion?

kentville, I've never liked Belle & Shawn as a couple for about a gazillion reasons. You're not alone.

Good show, from what I saw.

I'm loving seeing Victor ON again. The ending was superb. And JSF, something to consider - irrationality should be recognized. Shawn was merely blindsighted and Victor has no authority to be pissed at his grandson after what he's been doing for months. Yes, Kate made him keep the secret, but this is the great Victor Kiriakis we're talking about--no woman keeps him from doing what needs to be done.

Philip's scene with Claire broke my heart. There are so few characters left that I don't out-and-out love, it's almost scary.

Lucas & Will teaming up with Maggie to destroy Sami's date with EJ was excellent (though I missed all of Maggie's scenes).

Shawn just made me despise him. He could have killed someone with that car. He didn't know who was in that house and where they were. Stupid.

That's irrationality. That's real life.

I don't know anyone who has driven a car into a house because they were angry. There are less extreme ways of getting anger across. I mean, if he had tried to fight Victor or something, I could see, but that was murderous AND suicidal.

This is Shawn we're talking about. He's a chip off the old block. Rationality and thinking things through are not in his vocabulary.

I'm sure you don't know anyone who's driven a motorcycle through a stained glass window either. Moot point

Yup... that's Shawn Douglas Brady... :D He drove his motorcycle through a church window during Belle/Philip wedding... The man should have his driver's license taken away... lol

The characters of both Shawn and Belle would benefit from the couple of Shawn and Belle being given a break for a while. They have no personalities outside of being each other's twu wuvs (except that Belle cries a lot and Shawn likes to drive into buildings). The couple of Shawn and Belle would benefit in the long run too, right now the horse is nearly dead and they just keep on beating it. I honestly don't see what everyone is seeing in Brandon Beemer beyond his being better than Jason Cook (which I agree he is), to me he seems just "decent" at best.
