So today is the Sweet 16 thing...I'm looking forward to Jesse McCartney's 'return' - but other than that...not so much.

LOL - what were those random pictures in the beginning....of Tad/Dixie? I mean I liked it, but random.

Can we please just get to Monday's episode with Myrtle, Palmer, Marian, Stuart? lol

ETA: Ok, 20 min. into today's episode and it isn't that bad. We get Zendall, and Lily/Sean is mixed in with the party, so it's not quite as lame. Plus Colby's actions make me love Sydney even more. I liked the song that was dedicated to Sydney...being on the outside looking in.

LMAO at Tad - "Watch out for the Latvia girls - they are kinda kinky....something about the Communist thing."

Ok - that Amanda/Jonathan kiss was HOT. I'm already a fan...wow.

Today's show was much better than I expected it to be. It's not all about the Sweet 16, and the Lily/Terry stuff is getting good - and next week looks promising.

Um... if Lily's 18, how is it a crime for Terry to go after her? I mean, don't get me wrong -- it's immensely unappealing to watch a grown man go after an 18 year old girl with Autism -- but using the Lily character to prop up the image of Terry being a pedophile is laughable... considering she's 18 now, and Jonathan was dating her MONTHS before she was legal.

I just think they played their hand too quickly in regard to the Lily thing. They wanted to make her 18 so she could be with Jonathan -- but now they're trying to make her the target of a pedophile at 18 as well?

Bad writing. I don't even know why I asked.

When Lily ran away, she wasn't 18 yet. Terry came after when she was 17. The reason why it's so wrong is that Terry is trying to take advantage of a mentally challenged girl.

Terry is a pedophile b/c he had sex with the girls who babysat for Emma.

But what I'm saying is that using Lily is [!@#$%^&*] up the story. So, not only does Terry like underage babysitters, he likes legal aged girls with mental disabilities?

The latter would make him Jonathan, wouldn't it?

That's what I'm saying. They're playing both ends against the middle, messing up the entire story. He should've been going after Colby or Sydney if that's the case. Leave Lily out of this.

stalking and preying on ANY woman regardless of age that does not want you is illegal and wrong in this society. She could be 50 years old. What Terry is doing is wrong. He tried to force himself on Lily in NY and has plans to do so again. Terry is a pedophile bc of what he's done to other girls and what Annie fears he may someday to do her daughter. He's a sexual predator and Lily is his current target

Okay, let me try and clarify -- again. I'm a big boy. I know that terrorizing women is wrong regardless of age. Thank you. I'm just asking:

WHAT ANGLE ARE THEY TRYING TO WRITE THIS STORY FROM?!

If this were to be a pedophilia story -- then okay.

If this were to be a targeting girls with mental disorders story -- then okay.

But the story is written too broadly and the Terry character is too cartoonish. I'm just trying to get a handle on what it is that this character is doing and why would a pedophile go after a girl with Autism? The two don't go hand in hand. Those are two very different attractions going on there. That's like saying a gay man likes men with disabilities, too!

There's no explanation as to why Terry is so hot for Lily -- who seems to be the contrast to the girls Terry's been after before. If there was one given, then tell me. If there wasn't one given, then that's my point.

Can't wait for Monday's show! It will be a blessing.

I'm really NOT loving Amanda & Jonathan. I'll take them over Lily & Jonathan, but I really like Mandy with Jamie. Why did they drop that? I find Julia & Jamie creepy for some reason.

why does any pedophile do what they do? They are sick and twisted. Pedophiles target young girls bc they still have their innocence. They are easier to control and manipulate and they can exert power over them, which its not as easy to have over a grown woman. Being autistic, Lily is more naive and trusting than the average girl. Terry had her taking off her shirt and doing what he said back in NY. Age is a number. He was after her when she technically was 17. Just bc she turned 18, doesnt automatically stop him from being interested in her. I think he's also turned on bc she's unattainable. He hasnt been able to conquer her, so she's a challenge for him and he wont stop until he's able to get to her

I dont get why its so hard to beleive one would be attracted to one with a disability. People are attracted to others with different characteristics. Whatever floats your boat. Most people that are attracted to someone are attracted to more than one characteristic. Her condition isnt even the main issue. Terry targeted Lily when he first saw her as a young teenage girl, before he realized she was autistic

Well if you look back to May when Terry first found Lily - he saw her as a beautiful younger woman who seemed helpless and lost. For any crazy molester - this is pure gold. I think the fact she is autistic makes it easier for Terry to manipulate and her actions are those of a normal 18 year old. I think he just gets off from taking advantage of younger women who are vulnerable. Being autistic makes Lily vulnerable and easy in Terry's eyes....plus she's hot.

Ok and what Cheap said as well...

Actually, it wasn't the train wreck I was expecting. Bad, but not completely unwatchable.

Colby actually had a vulnerable moment with Krystal, which I never thought would happen.

Lily/Terry are ff material for me, as are Jonathan/Amanda.

I liked the Dixie/Zach and especially the Tad/Jamie scenes.

ITA that Terry is a sleazy rapist (waste of a good actor, imo), but he's not a pedophile for going after an 18-year-old girl. In that respect, I think he's just like Jonathan.

I wasn't watching in May during the Lily's on the Loose: Manhattan Edition storyline. That's why I'm asking. Not to be schooled on pedophiles or molestors or the ethics in terrorizing women. When I picked up this show again in July people kept talking about Terry and then they cut to scenes of Terry in "Ireland" on the phone with Green--um--Annie. And then Terry's on the internet as DownSyndromeBoy or whatever and I'm just asking what is the angle of the storyline? I have no idea who Terry is, and there's never been any true exposition. I was confused as to what he was about. At first, I thought he was praying on girls with disabilities, and then I thought he was a pedophile (hence Blannie stealing away with 5 year old Emma), and then I thought he was after barely legal girls (due to Lily talking about Terry on the witness stand during the incompetence trial)... just too much is going on with this character for me to understand what's going on in this story.

So I take it the Terry character was painted with a simple broad stroke, and he's an equal opportunity sex offender. There really is no purpose to his character other than that.

ITA that Terry is a sleazy rapist (waste of a good actor, imo), but he's not a pedophile for going after an 18-year-old girl. In that respect, I think he's just like Jonathan.

Agree don all accounts--it shoulda been a lot worse--but I'm not gonna claim it was very good.

However I think the thing with Terry is he goes after virgins exclusively--the younger the better--that seems to be the implications. It's an unpleasnat story unpleasnatly told at any respect.

Oh and who comes up with some of this stuff like the "cool" DJ endlessly talking in the middle of the songs lameness like "this one's for all you hotties..."

Oh but the Sep 11 ep should be worth watching :D Palmer and Myrtle!

I actually agree with R Sinclair about the Terry/Lily story. He's being portrayed on the show as garden-variety taker of females against their will: stalker, predator, pedophile. rapist and a Daddy with a penchant for babysitters. The story is being sold in the press, etc as Chester The Molester with Lily (at least currently) as his primary sexual target and the primary focus of that story.

They spent so much time trying to convince us, I think that Lily was competent and a functioning-enough to be considered and adult and of a mind to make her own decisions about marriage in order to sell the Jon-Lily romance without squicking out a lot of the audience. Now, they're doing a 180 to show us how incompetent, naive, too-trusting, too easy to con in order to sell Terry more as a Molester (which is often preceded by "Child" and usually assumed to be taking sexual advantage of or sexual violation of a minor).

If he's going after Lily, at this point, he's an internet predator and rapist-to-be, but I don't think he qualifies as a molester in the way we usually think of that term. McT can't have it both ways. Well, what am I saying, she is doing that very thing.

It's all doing yet another disservice to Lily's character, imo in terms of the level of maturity/competence they're trying to sell for her. That's one of the biggest problems with the obfuscation: If Lily's competence and maturity are tainted by the story, so are Jon's.

No matter how you look at it, Terry's scum and needs to go. It's creepy and disgusting and something I don't care to see, especially in the hands of McT. Why is the woman so damned fascinated/obsessed with violence against and sexual predators of women?

You mean unlike most soap writers? I do agree McT likes to especially make it unpleasant...
