Definatly check this out, he is very insightful and fascinating and if you love writing in general, its a definate must to listen to.

Unfortunatly, there's a very long conversation between the webmaster and that Snark individual to get through before you can hear the best portion of the webcast, but its totally worth it.

You can tell that LeMay truly loved some actors, like Doug Watson & McKinsey and he offers some really great observations about their techniques.

He was a brilliant writer, and did have great respect for some of the actors. But what is bad about him that can't be said about many of the other big soap writers like him is that despite all his good at AW he ultimately help lead to the demise of the show. He set it all up when he got rid of Virginia Dwyer, George Reinholt, and Jacqueline Courtney. He helped lead to the demise of the Matthews family, helped to dimish the structure of the show, and firing the most popular actors of the time was not good at all. I know that he was only half of the equation and Paul Rauch was just as guilty. What they did hurt the show for many many years.

Would anyone be willing to at least summarize the interview?

The interview with Lemay is absolutely free. I'm not a member of WoST myself so i think we are very lucky to have access to it.

Yes, unfortunately is right.

I have tried valiantly to listen to their show, but simply cannot sit through the snide remarks of one host (who goes out of his way to flame folks from other sites), and the relentless giggling, snorting, and guffawing of the other.

You can, however, use the media player's fast-forward button to get past their material, and go right into the Lemay interview.

a certain host has a very annoying voice, and sounds horribly rehearsed

The content of the site is good, but a certain few people appointed themselves the moderators of all online soap media. Their arrogance is unbelievable. And their attitude toward SON is uncalled for and immature.

the convo between webmaster and snark is actually completely pointless. We find out nothing we don't already know and lets just say the theories as to why daytime ratings are so low are a little... uninspired. Snark's high pitched giggling makes my skin crawl, i mean, in the words of UK Big Brother's Nikki i have to say "WHO IS HE? Who IS HE?! WHO IS HE?! Where did you find him?!?!"

You are absolutely right, the whole thing sounds rehearsed and unnatural.

I notice that they love to slate SON, and the webmaster does it in this sort of authoritarian manner. I don't know, maybe he feels a sense of power because he has all these vintage soap episodes under his control. That does not give him the right to constantly slander our great community here at SON, because over this side of the fence, we don't know him from Adam. Maybe he feels like he is the online 'name' to associate with daytime drama? I for one don't intend to put up with this dogging SON crap much longer and if the baiting continues then the gloves are truly off.

So true. I remember one of their podcasts (the only one of their I listened to), they spent SO LONG just badmouthing SON and how rumours on the site were ruining the credibility online soap sites. First off, it is very hard to just stop discussion about stuff people have the right to discuss. I guess because SON has such a wide audience and quite a bit of Internet clout, things can get blow out of proportion. But jeez... those guys have no shame.

Folks, if you have issues with WoST, any of its members, or any of its staff, this is not the place to discuss them. Please take those issues to the people and place they should be directed to. If you'd like to continue discussing the actual Lemay interview, please continue to do so and let's stay on topic. If that can't be done, I will close this thread.

pfft! Whatever. WorST is not the [!@#$%^&*]. I've been there. I've posted with its people ... and those people were largely freaks!
