"DAYS OF OUR LIVES" Sweeps Emmy Broadcast!

Last night in a turn of shocking events, NBC daytime soap opera, Days Of Our Lives, managed to take home the Emmy in all major categories! This comes as a big shock to everyone in the industry and fans of the industry since DAYS has been shafted by the panel for over fifteen years. NBC made strides early on in the year to make sure they were not ignored anymore! The show went where few shows have gone before and killed off the todler son of one of the show's most popular and beloved supercouples. DAYS also hired four-time Emmy winner, Hogan Sheffer, as headwriter, who propelled another daring storyline in the fall. The death of the little boy was a gripping story that left fans in tears for months. But it didn't leave the portrayers of the boy's on-screen parents in any tears - not bad ones anyway. Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) and Kristian Alfonso (Hope Williams Brady) took home the gold in the categories of lead actor and actress. Martha Madison (Belle Kiriakis) kicked off the night of shocks by winning "Younger Lead Actress" for the same story during which her daughter fought for her life and was only saved due to the boy's donated organs. Unfortunately, the only drawback of the night occured when DAYS lost the "Younger Lead Actor" category to Tom Pelphrey of "Guiding Light." But James Reynolds sparked up the streak again as he raked in the award for "Supporting Actor." The actor's impressive reel included clips of catching his dupilicitous wife with another man. Suzanne Rogers, who is no stranger to the Emmy win, took home the trophy for the role of "Supporting Actress" for her impressive and emotionally gut-wrenching portrayal of Maggie Simmons Horton during Novemeber Sweeps. The show took another bold move and decided to write off one of the show's founding characters, Mickey Horton, who, it just so happens, was being played by.....no one. "It was tricky."....says Corday, the show's producer. "But we knew it could be done. We couldn't keep the character off forever. We took another bold move as we did with the Zach story only this time we had Hoagie here to tell it and hit all of the emotional beats. It has been a true Emmy - and ratings - gold mine." The show also managed to win the best writing award, as well as the biggest shocker of the night - Best Series! "We were not expecting even to get nominated. After fifteen years of not winning and a little less than that of being snubbed in the nominations, you don't expect to be nominated, let alone win. But it goes to show you that if you put out amazing work, ALL of daytime will recognize you - not just the show's on your network. We submitted an episode from Zach's death and an episode from Mickey's death, and the results were just magic!"

Massive Coup at B&B. HW Bell Out, Massive Cast Shift

9-15-2006

A shockwave went through the CBS studios yesterday when it was announced that Bradley Bell has been sacked as HW of the show. He will however remain to be the Executive Producer. A show spokesman announced:"It's unfortunate, but it is considered to be the fresh approach this show needs".

B&B rating have sunk to an all-time 2.8 low and stumbled to a #3 position in the Nielsen ratings. The show has been overtaken by Days of our Lives, who with the hew headwriter Hogan Sheffer have schocked audiences and their ratings soared to 3.4 and a steady #2 position.

A B&B spokesman denied that the show already signed a new HW:"We have not signed anyone up at this time." Also the rumors that the show signed Sheri Anderson as new HW were denied for now.

Furthermore the writing is not the only thing that is about to change. Rumors are going around of massive cast changes and returns. after the departure of Joe Mascolo the show has new resources to sign other actors. It's rumored that Lesley Ann-down(Jackie Marone) will leave the show this fall. It's also rumored that Lesley Kay(Felicia), Antonio Sabàto JR.(Dante) and Lorenzo Lamas(Hector).

With the departures coming it seems that Sean Kanan(Deacon) may return to the show in November. Next it is rumored that Brian Gaskill(Oscar Marone) and Adrienne Frantz(Ambrosia 'Amber' Moore) will return to show.

Furthermore there are rumors of the ruturn of Rick Forrester, Gaby Moreno Forrester and Caitlin Ramirez. A spokesperson said:"There is still a lot of story left for these characters, however nothing is for sure." The show may need to recast some of the characters. A candidate name for the role of Gaby was rumored to be Alexis Thorpe(Ex-Cassie Dimera, DOOL).

And finally reports are coming in about the return of Storm Logan and an 'Unknown' Hamilton. a spokes woman said:"He(Storm) might be returning, however the portrayer is yet unknown since Ethan Wayne will not be reprising the role" Number one candidate is rumored to be Matt Ashford(Ex-Jack, DOOL). About the Hamilton it was said that he is older than Taylor and he is a lawyer. Furthermore he is rumored to be politically connected and owner of several media. Candidate for the role to be Thaao Penghlis, most famous of his portrayal as the charming Count Anthony Dimera on DOOL.

We update you on the situation..

My fantasy one at this point is:

Nichols & Evans next victims of budget cuts at Days.

Harsh. You really have a bug up your butt about them, don't you? *g*

Hey it is a fantasy. And as I said they have not ever been one of my faves, and so far I just don't like the story - enough so that it helped me to stop watching. I like both performers and have loved them on other shows; I just don't like them as a couple. And it doesn't help that others are having to leave, and they are getting to stay. And I am not even that big of a fan of any who have been fired so far, but I know others who are, and they are feeling the same way about Patch and Kayla staying over their faves. I hope that it doesn't end up hurting Days - I really hope that because I don't want the show to end. And I feel once Hogan gets hold of the story it will involve more people and I can enjoy them being back on the show. But at the same time I would not weep if Patch & Kayla were victims of the budget cuts.

'DAYS' Flies by 'B&B' in the Ratings

As many of you have known, top scribe Hogan Sheffer has recently taken over as headwriter for 'Days of our Lives', NBC Daytime's highest-rated show. Because of all the buzz and fantastic storytelling, one would expect the ratings to rise just a little bit. But in this case, the ratings have risen tremendously. DAYS has taken over the #2 spot, previously occupied by CBS soap 'The Bold & the Beautiful'.

"We are all truly shocked, amazed and extremely happy at this point. We knew Mr. Sheffer would bring something good to the table, but we didn't expect it to turn out this great," says Executie Producer Ken Corday. "The audience has really responded to great, new storytelling. I couldn't be more happier."

Since Sheffer began writing in early September, the ratings rose to 2.9. 'B&B' was still in second place, but with falling ratings at 3.0. During mid-September, 'DAYS' grasped onto the 3.0 mark, while former 2nd place 'B&B' sank to an all-time low of 2.8. Finally, towards the end of September, 'Days of our Lives' held onto 2nd place victory with another rise of 3.5. Unfortunately, 'Bold's' ratings contiuned to spiral down to a 2.6. Fortunately for CBS, "The Young & the Restless" has risen to a 4.7.

Setside sources are now saying that Executive Producer/Headwriter for 'B&B', Bradley Bell, will be removed from the headwriting post and only be served as EP.

We will issue another release as soon as confirmation becomes available.

Ex-'DAYS' Headwriter Returns!

NBC Daytime's 'Days of our Lives' is about to get a whole lot better. Executive Producer Ken Corday advises viewers that, "Former headwriter Sheri Anderson will be returning to the show as Associate Headwriter. We are extremely thrilled to have this phenomenal writer returning to 'DAYS'. We feel she, along with current headwriter Hogan Sheffer, and Associate Headwriter, Beth Milstein, will form a fabulous team of fantastic storytelling."

Anderson will begin writing in early October, along with Milstein (who has already begun), to share the same credit as Associate Headwriter.

Anderson's tenures as headwriter were from 1982-1986 and from 1992-1993. She has also been Emmy nominated 4 times. She has won once and that was when she was a staff writer in 1976.

No further information was available at press time.

Bold changes shocks viewers on B&B

Since Ronn Moss (Ridge) decided to leave The bold and the beautiful, the CBS soap has done drastic changes in it´s story. And fans remain shocked as former castmembers Sean Kanan (Deacon), Joanna Johnson (Karen), Jennifer Finnigan (Bridget) and Bobbie Eakes (Macy) returns and replaces Lorenzo Lamas (Hector), Lesley-Anne Down (Jackie), Ashley Jones (Bridget). Plus the additions of Matthew Ashford (Zach), Constance Towers (Pam) and Tom Eplin (Storm).

Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) has decided to take 3 months off the show to travel the world with her family, leaving the show to concentrate more on the other characters with successful result.

Headwriter and executive producer Bradley Bell reveals he was afraid to finally take the step, but now that he´s out there, he has no regrets. He speaks excited about his future plans of storytelling without triangles. He wants to go back to the roots of the show where romance and adventure were big parts. Bell is planning a location shoot in South Africa where there will be a fashionshow followed by a big mystery storyline involving a big kidnapping and hostage situation where all relationships are put to the test, and loyalties may get broken and shifted.

"You have never seen anything like this on soaps before" teases Bell who has brought in a big primetime name as his co-writer. Rumor has it he snagged a "Lost"-writer.

The big changes has already paid off. The ratings are improving massivly, now only -0.1 behind The Young and the Restless.
