DAYS: 2 Big Firings...

To US, they ARE still. And still have potential especially under a new writer.

No sense in wasting our breath, KR. Seriously.

I'm going to agree to disagree and forget about it.

And I AM a fan of Days, I've watched for almost 20 years.

Austin and Carrie are gone. They're gone! It's time to get over, look for a new couple root for and just drop it. You can't outspeak us. Sorry. We're looking at this in the realistic light.

Wow. This thread is heated.

I agree with Bree. Dee Hall left, PR, and KA, it didn't really hurt the show at all.

  • Administrator
I agree with that. But I hope that is not aimed at me. Or my posting here for like what eight years must have gone completely unnoticed.

It wasn't directed at you, Mike. You have a right to be angry that your favorite couple will be leaving.

It was directed at people who only watch for 1 or 2 characters and don't watch the show when their characters aren't on. LOL :)

Some people need to learn not to take debating personally. King Reilly, you are not being attacked. This is like a debate and it is your opinions and views that are being attacked, not you personally. Get over it.

Drew, I am not stopping. LOL. This is one of the best threads at SON ever. I've never debated like this. I like it. Ima keep going, biatch.

Thanks. ;)

Jase wanted me to ask: "Austin and Carrie? I thought that was the Ku Klux Klan!"

So if Carrie and Austin were to leave in an EXCELLENT story you wouldn't mind, KR?

Drew, I don't think I am being attacked at all. WTF are you talking about. I haven't made anything personal in this thread at all. Paranoid much?

I find it really hypocritical that some people are blowing off AP's and CC's firing as "oh well, the show will survive" (even though it's true) when they'd be pitching a god damn fit if let's say.....Deidre Hall was fired, or Peter Reckell, or Kristian Alfonso or Lauren Koslow or some of your favorites.

But that's what I'm asking, how is that any more hypocritical than watching during the serial killer story and blowing off those deaths and say it's important to make the future of the show, and then asking anybody else to turn around now and say this is killing the show? I guess it's a stalemate.

AWESOME! F'N GREAT! I'll take you on until the end of time, LOL. I want you to keep going. This is fun. It is one of the most talked about threads in a long time. It's war time !@#$%^&*]es! ;)

I am one who doesn't watch a show just b/c a character or a couple is on, but I find it really hypocritical that some people are blowing off AP's and CC's firing as "oh well, the show will survive" (even though it's true) when they'd be pitching a god damn fit if let's say.....Deidre Hall was fired, or Peter Reckell, or Kristian Alfonso or Lauren Koslow or some of your favorites.

Each generation of soap fans have their favorites. While as a fan of the show, I'd be pissed if any of the above I named were fired, but I'd continue to be loyal to the show and watch. However, I'd be sympathetic to the people who's favs were fired.

For the record, I couldn't care less that Austin was fired b/c I don't really like him, but I honestly feel others could have been chosen instead of him. That's all.

You can't be that sympathetic when they are acting like belligerant children whose mommy told them they couldn't play with their favorite toy. We can discuss this without acting like whiny, spoiled four year-olds.

Oh come on, this is not some great debate thread, it's 10 against 2. 1, really.

This is part of what makes SON so great. We can all have varying degrees of the same opinion or different ones and we still have great discussions. This is what sets us apart from the other places. I love this thread. I love reading all of your opinions.

I just find it kind of silly to say that they are played out. Dee Hall has been on the show forEVER and has been through EVERYTHING. Literally, EVERYTHING!

If she ever left or was fired, I would never tell her fans "Oh, she's played out!" Even though, I think she may be.

V, because if the show was in great shape right now. I would be defending it and looking to the future. I know SON posters who are familiar with my postings KNOW I would. I defend DAYS to the absolute DEATH. But this is not a good sign of things to come, in my eyes.

Thank you Bree! Lets grow up people. Yes, you can be mad at your favorite couple's departure, but even you have to realize the realistics about the firing. And thats what you're not doing and why the argument is still going.
