  1. And now word is their New Jersey home is up for sale. Teresa deserves everything coming her way. The hubris this woman displays is appalling. Ugh. This truly sucks. Garcelle has been a breath of fresh air for this show and one of the bright spots. This has been a lackluster season for me. It started off well with Dorit's marriage imploding and her fight with Kyle...but once that settled, nothing happened. I feel Dorit is the one who gave the most in terms of storyline. Kyle is unwilling to tell the truth about her life and is supported by the rest of the cast in doing so. She otherwise is dull as dishwater and always has been. Erika's storyline was about wallpaper. Sutton reacted to everyone this season. Boz had a good introductory season. Jennifer and Kathy added sparkle and humour. But nothing else.
  2. NJ Teresa has been slapped with a $300,000 tax lien; Luis has been slapped with a $2,500,000 tax lien; Luis has taken out a $1,000,000 mortgage on their home; and Luis is being sued for $300,000 about an investment gone wrong.
  3. I watched the episode since Kate was in it and everyone had such positive comments on the scenes and I concur. They were great. The music cue, on the other hand, was the strangest choice for it and the volume of it was way too loud. I really liked the scene with Rafe and Johnny as well. You make a great observation about Galen Gering working well with the younger actors on the show. His 'kind dad' vibe kicks in. The EJ/Kate scenes were electric. So good to see Lauren Koslow with Kate having her strength and fire back. I think it goes: Lucas, Austin, Billie, Phillip, Rex, and Cassie. Lucas only gets first place because Kate raised him his whole life and covered up a murder for him, I think Kate *loves* Lucas the most. However, I think she *likes* Austin the most. He has basically never disappointed her and always done the right thing by her, and generally.
  4. You really should. They are 5/5 star franchises.
  5. Vancouver - the best single season (season 1) of any RH franchise. A perfect story arc. You all know I miss the hell out of Melbourne. For my money, the finest franchise to ever be. Give me Janet, Jackie, Chyka, Gina, Lydiot, and whoever else they wanted in the mix any day.
  6. Tamra doesn't have the guts to quit. Pretty decent numbers and I expect as the season goes on that they will grow.
  7. ATL I really enjoyed the first episode. The overall chemistry felt good and the new girls having connections to each other, and then connections to the existing cast, felt organic. I have always enjoyed Shamea and it turns out she's fabulously rich! And from good 'ol HVAC! Having never, ever, liked Kenya, I don't mind her being edited out at all.
  8. Big fan of Max Greenfield. Never good for a long running job to end, but hopefully this farewell season gives time for the actors to get their agents hustling up new gigs for them.
  9. +2 it was a very good season. They need to fire Mia and nobody wants to hear from Jacqueline again. I wonder if Karen will get released early for 'good behaviour' and if so, she may be able to join filming late.
  10. I think what kills me is the Academy Awards used to be about movie stars. It was a glamorous night where regular people could watch their favourite performers in competitive races. There were only a handful of stars in that audience. Now it's a bunch of nameless actors in movies nobody has seen winning awards and going on to work in projects for one of a million streaming platforms that a continually splintered audience never sees.
  11. Another Oscars that ran way too long (nearly 4 hours!), another appalling Memoriam (this time with a spooky choir!), and then Demi Moore gets robbed at gunpoint. I don't care how much the Academy loved Anora...they're sliding into further irrelevance.
  12. I consider him part of Bill Bell's 'Dream Team' that lasted until his death and the ensuing chaos that followed it.
  13. The bottom line is the judge was furious at every element of this case and threw the book at her. Karen's lawyer tried, and Karen and Ray tried, but there was no getting away from her previous record and the bodycam footage. Throw in that she went to the Miraval Spa (of all places!) before she was convicted and I really can't see how Karen's lawyer didn't prepare her for this outcome. The judge's tone of voice changed so radically once he started to sentence her, it was obvious what was about to happen. The prosecution didn't have to say anything. The judge has likely had his mind made up from the moment she was convicted. And who could blame him? Karen's strategy has been all wrong. She didn't take the deal, like Shannon did, or come to Court humble and contrite, like Luann did. Instead, Karen clung to the image that she is a leader in the community and that she has some platform to be an example. She is an example to nobody. I found listening to that sentencing hearing very disappointing. I really had high hopes that Karen was going to have hit rock bottom and show up to Court ready to face the music. Now, I hope she takes this jail sentence, takes accountability, and emerges a better person who is ready to be honest with herself.
  14. Yes, he is. Good looking actor, but wooden and doesn't seem to be able to deliver dialog naturally. I laughed out loud. I wasn't expecting it and I thought it was awful. Yes, and we're 3/3 for her performance being one of the weaker parts of the show.
  15. The year in jail may be good for Karen. It’s the reality check she needs and will also keep her sober. The judge clearly did not have any sympathy for her position and made an example of her, as is the right thing to do. Judges do not often impose a heavier sentence than what the prosecution requests. I wonder what time she’ll actually serve? I read a comment online that she’d probably be a hit with her fellow inmates. I could see it.
  16. I thought the same at several points in today's episode. Like Coronation Street. I think the show is underscored and could use more background music. Yes, I'm noting this with some of the sets - they're sterile and cavernous. Compare some of these sets to the Newman Ranch on Y&R and it's clear that they've leaned into contemporary style and furnishings and looks bland. Others, however, like Bill's office, are full of texture and interesting camera angles. The look of the show reminds me of AMC or GH. A bit on the generic side and definitely overly lit. Agree with all of what you've said. It's the first week, so of course there are issues to be worked out. I do find some of the dialog to be incredibly clunky - clunkier than I would have expected, but it's also unusual to have this much exposition. Daphnee is wonderful. She should have been on another soap after OLTL. She is wonderful.
  17. Watched the premiere and it was a very good start. Clearly, there are people behind the scenes who care about this show and want it to succeed. The exposition about who the Dupree family is worked well and I think we know their dynamic. I really liked the scene between grandfather and grandson in the diner. Starting a show with Best Of My Love playing sets a great tone. Daphnee Duplaix is my favourite so far. Natural and restrained. Karla Mosley is overacting. She did this on B&B as well. Loved how the show had extras (including Real Housewife of Potomac's Karen Huger!) The sets are definitely over lit and the lighting is too bright which detracts from the otherwise very nice, expansive, sets, and the hair, makeup, and costumes that all looked good. Any white in a set, prop, or costume was ultra bright. Hopefully they will work out that issue.
  18. Mia is truly scary because she can turn on those tears with the flip of a switch. Nothing about her is even slightly genuine. Jacqueline is such a loser. Nobody cares about who knocked her up. Nobody.
  19. I generally enjoy Heather's HW content...some other stuff, less so. This interview with Carole and Heather is both of them at their best because each is talking to a girlfriend. I still laugh at the fact it was Michael Cohen, yes that Michael Cohen, who took the photos of Tom at the Regency. Simon has been such a petulant bastard that I love this for Porscha. POTOMAC The prosecutor in Karen's DUI case, which goes to sentencing this week, has pointed out Karen has had 3 prior DUI convictions between 2006 - 2011. The prosecutor is seeking 6 months in jail. Karen's new lawyers are seeking no jail, focusing on rehabilitation and says Karen's recent stay in rehab focused on alcohol, anti-depressant use, and her sexual assault from 42 years ago when she was in college. The prosecutor's office says Karen's rehabilitation program was too luxurious (not a great argument...). I do think Karen is going to see some jail time. I doubt 6 months. But 60 days? I could see it.
  20. Karen and Luann are both Taurus women. I think Karen knows that she's hit a rock bottom of sorts, just as Luann did, and the only direction she can choose to go is up. No, it's more so that Mia is such an inveterate liar that she shows herself to be a fool so many times in an hour. Most of it is self inflicted.
  21. Mia is scary with her commitment to lying. How could anyone feel safe being her friend or with her in their life? Nothing she says can be relied upon. Her tears are as fake as her ass. Karen's two videos served her well in different ways. The first, disheveled, and worried for her family, saying she takes responsibility, while denying she is an alcoholic, shows that reality hit her. The second, perfectly coiffed and in a glamorous dress, extending sincere 'thank yous' told the audience who her friends on that cast really are, and her mention of taking anti depressants while drinking was the first time that she said anything that made sense about her DUI. It does not excuse anything she did, but it does explain, from a medical perspective, why she was so f****d up in that bodycam footage. I never thought she was just drunk. Everyone should look up mixing anti depressants and alcohol and it will explain the bodycam footage. It's a lot more dangerous than people would expect and makes depression symptoms worse, which can then lead to more drinking and it becomes a vicious cycle. That Karen said when she comes back, she'll just be Karen Huger, not the Grande Dame, because Karen is enough, I think that is a healthy step forward like when Luann ditches her Countess shtick. Gizelle had a great Part 1. Her tears for Karen were sincere because Karen's thanks surprised her. One step at a time, indeed. Ashley's hubris. Whew. Pride comes before a fall. Wendy's furious with Karen, and that's understandable...but she should be careful because the rest of the cast does not like her, regardless of how they're acting right now. Any goodwill is temporary. Stacey and Jassi's Miami fiasco with Mia was interesting because it reinforced that Mia is a lying scumbag. I do think they should upgrade Jassi because she took all that side-chick ribbing like a champion. Kierna needs to step up or she is a one and done. As @DemetriKane says, she was a bystander.
  22. Completely agree. Gizelle and Robyn fed off each other's negativity. Robyn is too stupid to function and messed around with production by revealing what should have been storyline on her podcast, so I'm glad she got the axe and she should stay off our screens. That's how I feel. Gizelle had a B Storyline kind of season. She was not the lead for anything other than hating Mia, which I fully support. The parallel with Erika on BH is right on. And I think it's been good for both of them. Britani as an FOH is a must for next season. She is a train wreck that the other HW's can devour for fodder.
  23. Sonja's ex-husband, John Adams Morgan, died earlier this month at the age of 94. The obituary that was posted by the Morgan Foundation only mentioned his current wife (his 5th), but none of his children. https://people.com/john-adams-morgan-dead-banker-and-sonja-morgan-ex-husband-was-94-8627805 His death may provide some closure to Sonja so she can let go of the past. I hope it does and that she's able to move forward with her life with joy and happiness.
  24. Mad as a box of frogs. Take a bow, SLC Housewives. THAT is how you do a 3 part reunion. They got down in the dirt and fought it out, but also reached some form of resolution and détente with their disputes. I would not change a thing about this cast. Bring 'em all back. PS: Meredith, Jenn Shaw is a piece of sh*t who scammed the vulnerable and elderly. She doesn't deserve a second chance.
