I've accepted that we'll probably never see any GL prior to 1979. I would love to see Roger/Holly storylines from MG first episode in 1976 until MZ departure in 1980.

In 1994 Nicolas Coster was on As the World Turns and Jed Allan was on 90210 so the timing was off. I think JFP wanted to cast either Roscoe Born or Lane Davies as Alan but I suspect they were either not interested or not available.

Seasons 8 and 9 were off the rails plus budget mode. Remember too that 1988/89 was the writer's strike delayed season thus so many shows felt off that season. Season 8 was a chore to get through and season 9 was painful to get through. The final two seasons were not necessary and they only happened because CBS was in their third place primetime mess era. When a salary dump goes wrong. I don't think Kristian Alfonso was hired on the cheap given her daytime popularity and huge following amongst a younger audience that CBS sought after, but she was the show's new pet that became front burner lead right away.

I'm not familiar with Josh Griffith other work, but it boggles my mind that he's lasted on Y&R as long has he has. Seeing what Y&R has become makes me sad and angry.

Josh Griffith needs to go but sadly that may not happen. Another month that was 90% hot garbage. Nothing on this show makes sense.
