  1. It was neither really. Y&R had a TON of strong actresses at the time (Jess, Eileen, Heather, Jeanne, Sharon, Alex, Ashley, MTS) competing for screentime & there just wasn't any room for her.
  2. Nope. They didn't mind the actress but (much like with Sabrina) hated her with Victor. Kay & Ed's issues didn't start until mid-late 2000. They were fine until Bill threw him (and especially Nathan) under the bus for Malcolm.
  3. Somewhat. The racial implication was definitely there (as was Jill's later issues with Mamie) however Bill kept Jill's overt issues to class. Jill didn't feel Drucilla was "model material" & hated her outspoken personality (though she grudgingly respected Dru's ambition). Drucilla admired Jill for her accomplishments & wanted to be like her (except for Jill's attitude ).
  4. They interacted a TON. Jill HATED Drucilla (like she did Nina & Mackenzie) & constantly tried to ruin her chances at Jabot. Not really. Liv & Dru pretty much were only support for Mamie.
  5. Don't give Maria & Hogan ideas!
  6. Boring. He pretty much only served to cause drama for Andy & Faren. Nope. Colleen Casey is a solid actress but not solid enough to carry a show. Bill saw her as a Frannie Hughes type of heroine but it just didn't work. Cassandra was beautiful, had personality to spare & had chemistry in all her pairings which helped Bill's sometimes problematic writing. Faren was like watching paint dry.
  7. The Sanderson's maid. She was in love with Evan.
  8. Nope. The problem was that Lauralee couldn't act (at least not on par with Doug) & Paul (like Danny) suffered from it. Paul had a ton of history with other characters & could have been paired with any actress on the show (at that point) yet he was stuck (even in stories about him) as a Cricket babysitter. Pretty much.
  9. Nope. That relationship (in addition to the writing for Cricket) is what ruined Paul. Doug was (and still is) too good an actor to be paired with Lauralee.
  10. The whole thing (while an interesting idea) was boring. That's when Cricket went from annoying to nauseating.
  11. For all their problems Victor & Brad were fairly good friends (until Brad began dating Nikki).
  12. Tricia had a ton of screentime until about a year before she left.
  13. It wasn't too bad until she decided to become a lawyer. After that the PSA stories just became ridiculous.
  14. No. Brad admired Victor (as a businessman) & Victor treated him like a protege. Brad used Victor & Jack's mutual hatred to his own advantage.
  15. Not really. He supported her & she pretty much did whatever she wanted.
  16. He had but he still had feelings for Victoria. When Victoria & Ryan were going to get married again. He would be married to Victoria & having an affair with Sharon.
  17. An excuse (she was no bigger than Adrianne Leon when Y&R fired her). She was meant to be a new heroine but Y&R felt her weight didn't fit their style.
  18. A solid actress but an annoying character. She was a lot like Diana's Angelina.
  19. Alex & Francesco left almost at the same time. Actually Y&R was fairly good about their openings. It wasn't until the porn opening that the show got lazy about changing things & has only gotten worse with the current opening.
  20. Pretty much. Every time it seemed like the story was over there was a "twist". It was like the Terroni story with much better actors. Jazz was fine. Bill treated the character with integrity (like Nathan) despite the character's background & Jon Elwood was a solid actor. Suzanne was always a part of Derek's story. She became a bigger part once she visited GC & decided to stay. Derek wasn't a bad character but Joe LaDue was miscast. The character should've been cast with an actor with more personality like Phil Carey or Michael Levin.
  21. The Tyrone story was an interesting idea but the execution was a debacle. Viewers began to tire of Lance/Lorie/Lucas/Leslie (much like Victor/Ashley/Nikki/Jack/Brad) once Janice left. Bill's Cricket love was hated too. The Suzanne story was a mess. George/Cassandra/Paul was liked until the story wouldn't end. A lot of Bill's stories weren't as important as the impact the recasts had on the stories (Eileen/Brenda & Janice/Victoria for instance).
  22. It was offensive judged by itself. But within the umbrella story it made complete sense.
  23. Kimsey's Mackenzie was terrible. It wasn't that she was a departure. It was that she was a completely different character. Much like the difference between Tom's Victoria & Heinle's Victoria. Ford began rough but was fired (unfortunately) just as she was beginning to make the character her own.
