Most were bored by her. They felt about her then the way they do about Patty now.

One of the most underrated actresses in Daytime history.

She wasn't mean just self involved (like Delia & Erica).

The Nikki marriage. Once Bill paired Bergman & MTS Jack became Aunt Jack.

Most of ABC's silver age (90's) teen stories (except Jessica & Original Cristian) always felt self conscious & maudlin to me. That's the thing though. They actually had plenty of spark as a group & in pairings. And they were realistic unlike the afterschool special ABC teens or the plastic mannequins on NBC.

Working with CLB definitely helped LLB grow as an actress. She had her best non-Danny chemistry with him. Pairing them was risky but could have worked if the writing had been better. That story (like Robin & Stone on GH) was too Afterschool Special for me.

At the time Bill didn't know what he wanted to do with Chase (which is a shame because SG was a good actor) & when he finally did make a decision the actress SG had the most chemistry with (Tricia Cast) was already heavy involved in another story. Any guy with edge would have been wasted with Cricket (who he would definitely have been thrown at) around.

That was the best teen story in Daytime since Jesse/Angie/Greg/Jenny & Liza.

It didn't & she was. Chase like every guy on the show (at one point she had FIVE different men wanting her) was IN LOVE with Cricket. Not really. He had more interaction with Jill & Katherine (Jack at the time was busy with with Brad, Leanna & Lauren).

Susan Walters is to Diane what Brenda Epperson was to Ashley. A competent but unspectacular recast.

Yep. Neither. Bill's idea to make David a killer was awesome as was the writing (except the last 6 months) & it proved that Corbett could actually act.

Bill & the audience grew to love CLB. He became Y&R's answer to Roger Thorpe. One of Bill's best decisions was to bring the character back after his prison stint. *cough*backstagedrama*cough*

Early Leanna was a fun crazy. Barbara Crampton gave the character just enough camp to keep Leanna sympathetic. Maria & Hogan ruin legacy kids. Even the adult ones.

Nope. That was dropped once Bill decided to keep Leanna. Exactly. Some stories like Nina's son & Lily's paternity COULD have been good stories had Bill (or any competent writer that cared about Y&R & its characters) written them but instead characters were written horribly OOC for inane, ratings driven sweeps stunts. Leanna actually had quite a bit of an edge (hers was more sexual than Alex's though). It wasn't until she divorced Victor that she became mainly a comedic character.. Nope. Intially Lisa was written as sympathetic & naive. Brad constantly rejected her though making her more & more obsessed with winning him back which is what led to her eventually keeping him in the cage. Yep. Killed her in the tub. Michael didn't kill Hilary. She left him. However he DID kill Rebecca (though Bill didn't press the issue since he & the audience fell in love with CLB).

Briefly. But not as a couple. After Brenda left. She didn't. They weren't really similar. Lisa was a spoiled rich girl cliche (that only became interesting after she went psycho). Leanna was a totally different character (mainly due to Barbara Crampton). Leanna was more like GH's Heather & OLTL's Alex (who she was the inspiration for).

Many (mainly with Dina, Nikki, Diane & Jill). Shari's Ashley was just horrible. Her Ashley was cheap (and not in the good way). It was her Ashley that competed with Victoria for Cole (something Ashley would NEVER do) She had a few scenes with Nikki, Traci & with Mari Jo towards the end of her run. But Brenda was always too sweet to make them work.
