Not quite. He was going to keep Scott but Sheila/Lauren totally ruined Scott/Lauren that added to how popular Sheila/Lauren became & an outside agenda was what really did Scott in. Plus even though he and Lauren had good chemistry Tracey probably had better chemistry with Don and Doug. Somewhat. But that was pre-Lauren/Sheila Scott. He still acts though nowhere near as much. Which is a shame given he's quite talented. Scott wasn't boring. He was really good up until Sheila/Lauren pretty much ate all his air time/character development.

They had PLENTY of scenes together because Katherine (like Douglas) is/was like family to the Newmans. Katherine's relationship with Victoria was a lot like her relationship with Ashley (prior to the Tucker debacle), warm & loving. The will stuff was part Katherine/Esther's growing relationship. The Norman stuff (in a sad but well written twist) came later.

Katherine & Jill have always (until recently) had a lot of interaction. The irony is Katherine acted the same way when Jill married John the second time too. It took Deborah awhile to settle into the part. Her Jill was much softer than Brenda's. It worked though because Deborah was in the same place (desperately trying to fit in) as Jill was at that point. Everyone called Katherine Mrs. Chancellor (or Kay) back then. And it suited her because she was just (much like Victor) different.
