  1. I think there were two reasons why they never brought Lucy on full-time: one, having Gary and Val's grown (or nearly grown) daughter around would've aged Gary and Val (even though Gary and Val were still teenagers when they had her); and two, DALLAS characters in general never fit in with the rest of the KL canvas. Still, if Lucy HAD come back to Knots Landing at some point, I could see going to work as Paige's gossipy assistant at the Sumner Group (as a favor to Gary, of course, lol) and maybe even becoming the object of both Mort and Bob's affections (with schlumpy Bob actually winning out over smarmy Mort in the end).
  2. So, I'm not the only one who was traumatized by all those Sunsweet commercials, eh, lol?
  3. I hope we aren't. As long as Wayne Northrop was still alive and capable of returning to the show AS Roman, I held out hope. However, he's gone now, and Josh Taylor and Deidre Hall just don't share that type of chemistry. I'd much rather see Marlena in a relationship with someone new (after an appropriate period of mourning, of course, lol).
  4. I agree. I understand that the budget for S14 was peanuts, but I do believe more of an effort should've been made to tie up not just the past 1-2 seasons, but the series overall. As I've said in the past, Karen could've called Richard to help defend Mack on the murder charges (which would've laid the groundwork for a hookup and HEA for Richard and Anne). Lilimae could've returned for a few episodes to help Gary look after the twins after Val's disappearance (and make passive-aggressive comments about Kate). Gary could've crossed paths with Ben while looking for Val in Florida (and as the two search for her, they bury the hatchet). Cathy could've easily popped up again (this time, in an abusive relationship with Nigel Treadwell, whom she met while on tour in Europe). And even though it would've been a long shot, maybe - just maybe - they could've persuaded Constance McCashin to make a few appearances as Laura's spirit/Greg's conscience as he deals with the task force stuff.
  5. I think that's because they realized (too late) that Lance Guest was just wrong for that role. I could quibble about how Steve was introduced - a granola-eating hippie who lives out of his van? Seriously, KNOTS? - but in order for such a crazy storyline to work, he needed to be played by someone who was very dynamic; a little earnest at first, sure, but he definitely needed smoldering good looks, with just the right touch of mischief. Guest had none of that. Not to mention the whiplash we got from the Brian Johnston storyline, which went from "Brian likes to videotape his sexual encounters (and Linda's on one of those tapes)" to "Brian has disappeared and is wanted by the authorities". Wait, what, lol? And Karen's "Walking Tall" storyline - with the needless twist of Jason being in that car - definitely felt tacked on, as if they were afraid they didn't have a juicy enough cliffhanger to run in ads. The Lechowicks left the show in such a mess, lol.
  6. Yep. Even Mal Young's Y&R wasn't so depressing to watch.
  7. Yeah, S13 is a real bitch is to get through. None of the stories that the new team introduced worked, characters like Claudia, Paige and Kate didn't sound or behave like themselves at all; the Brian Johnston storyline spun so out of control that I still can't make heads or tails of it; and the biggest sin of all: wasting Marcia [!@#$%^&*] Cross. As @DRW50 says, it's a blessing in disguise that JVA/Val was virtually ignored the entire season, lol.
  8. I'm leaning toward Robert Lansing (a.k.a. "Control," in the original "Equalizer").
  9. Frankly, a lot of what they pull wouldn't be so bad if the execution wasn't so lousy.
  10. Under better circumstances - namely, better writing - Gregory Harrison would've been a fantastic addition to the show. He certainly sparked with Jane Elliot; it's just a shame that it happened during his final weeks on the show, when his fate was sealed already, and most of the audience were past giving a damn.
  11. Don't do it, @DRW50 ! Hold out for BTG instead!
  12. I'll be damned if @DRW50 ends up working for Frank. He's far too talented for that.
  13. Don't worry, though: soon, she'll be the new editor-in-chief at Crimson, and all will be right again in Frank's world.
  14. No way is he about to cut bait on that snotty, two-dimensional "actress." She appeals to Frank's desired demographic: middle-aged FB users who have defected to Great American Christmas, and who miss the days when Taylor Swift was just another country music artist.
  15. It's way past time for Jim Young and Gloria Monty's ghosts to visit Frank and show him where he's going wrong with that girl, lol.
  16. They better bring back Morgan Fairchild for that one. Diva can sell anything!
  17. Drew will be the one to dump Jacinda's body in Michael's bed (and take pictures that somehow end up in an issue of Crimson). He'll also beat Willow, kick someone's dog, steal candy from all the kids on Halloween and hatch a scheme to plunge Port Charles into "perpetual midnight."
  18. And BLQ will think it's her fault because she was a "slut" for kissing Dante, and she'll respond by dressing up in even more layers!
  19. And as with most murder mysteries on Frank's GH, "Who Killed Brennan?" will drag on for a year or more before the culprit is revealed; and when they ARE revealed, it'll be done in a throwaway fashion, no one either onscreen or off will care anymore and the killer or killers will go unpunished.
  20. IIRC, JJ left on his own. He had been itching to leave for years in order to try his luck in primetime and films. I know fans have complained about how Young's Lucky was too angry and Vaughan's Lucky too much like a himbo, but I think that's because Young and Vaughan weren't capable of playing Lucky with the same layers as Jackson.
  21. Ellis was her husband. He wrote for many shows in the '50's and '60's, including "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Mission: Impossible." Her brother, Raymond Goldstone, wrote for several soaps, often under his sister, including LIAMST, SFT, DAYS, GH, FALCON CREST, KNOTS LANDING and RITUALS; and her brother-in-law, Marc Daniels, was the original director for "I Love Lucy" and the one who suggested Vivian Vance for Ethel.
  22. First, he dumps Rhoda; then, he beats the hell out of Bobbie and Terry. And all that's before the [!@#$%^&*] he pulled on various episodes of "Law & Order" and "Murder, She Wrote." Was there no END to that man villany, lol?
  23. Perhaps it's finally gotten through his thick-ass skull that everyone is sick and tired of "The Adventures of Stone Cold" and that he has virtually no visibility career-wise outside of GH, so he might as well just hit his marks, say his lines and STFU.
  24. I think it was "all of the above," lol.
  25. Yeah, I can't see Steve leaving either, although I wish he would. On the other hand, even his reunion with Britt isn't sparking with anyone watching, which might be all the incentive that Frank needs to push him and maybe KT out the door.
