  1. At least we can always count on Greg to mention Becky Jo was part of the original 1937 radio cast of Guiding Light. 😂
  2. Legit surprised Sheinelle Jones from The Today Show would sign up for this.
  3. LOL I'm not a TikToker so please kindly keep these coming if more are posted; good for some giggles
  4. LOL! I'm ready for these Salty ladies too. Hubby & I have been reliving RHOC's Vicki, Tamra, Heather, Shannon, Lizzie season (I forgot how good it was), but it'll be nice to watch some fresh new material again!
  5. Agreed. Once they stopped holding the show at Radio City (2005) and started venue hopping, it also happened to coincide with the overall relevancy of the show. Though I'll give a shoutout to 2006 (the first time in LA) simply because it's when Guiding Light swept up 4 acting categories. I still prefer it being televised simply to give it even the slightest sense of respect, plus it cuts down on all that chit chat redundancy from whichever Entertainment Tonight weekend anchor is hosting.
  6. Month behinder here. (Whoa, just had a flashback to back in the day when one would have to identify if they were a Day Behinder GL viewer whose local affiliate would air it in the morning. But I digress). Did they recognize the conditions of JJ's birth? i.e. on Melaswen. Just curious.
  7. Agreed on the Jo part. I guess it kinda looks messy at face value, but at the same time, we had Alexis back last year and Gretchen this year, so why not bring an original cast member back too? [Side note: No sign of a Vicki appearance this year?] Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing this play out at the reunion. Katie can bring all receipts, texts, tweets, twats, DM's, pigeon carrier notes, whatever. Do it and be done. Also, I had to laugh at Shannon looking flustered on last night's episode, clearly rattled at seeing Tamra and Gretchen skipping along like besties. You just know she wanted a season-long gang-up on Tamra and now she's the only sour patch kid left.
  8. They've been trying to recreate Dinner Parties From Hell ever since the original, which came to be organically and totally out of left field. I agree in that it's time to get back to the basics that made the Housewives the success they became originally. Hell, give us some on-the-spot interviews with housewives on the street right after a scene gets played out. No need for all the green screen glammed up shots that aren't even inside their real homes anymore.
  9. Yeah.. I'm kinda done with her. Between her lack of accountability, Bravo protecting her bad behaviors on and off set, I don't see any "growth" potential for her anymore.
  10. LOL the general consensus here... +1 Perfectly fine actor, but safe, which means he'll safely fade into the background in Genoa City. Another former DAYS actor who always popped in and out like his onscreen mama who has also joined Y&R now. Guess this means no more trips to Salem for Tripp (see what I did there)
  11. Bless her heart 😂 I look forward to seeing her in the mid-season bumper.
  12. Yeah, Katie lies and lies some more, but the gang up was icky, with the cherry on top being Emily callously saying, "yeah, you can just leave." And yes, they have ALL lied and been caught lying. I did love that even "little lies" like Heather and the paparazzi was brought up. Shannon seemed awfully flustered at the lie detector idea, as her old adage of "The OC is full of secrets, but I have nothing to hide," has long been retired. I really don't know what to make of Katie except she made rookie mistakes and continued to double down on fumbling the ball left and right. If she doesn't show up to reunion, I wouldn't be surprised. Either way, she won't return next season; she's gonna get Danielle Staub'ed out by the cast.
  13. Who knows, it may actually happen one day. How many years did us DAYS fans manifest a return of Sarah Horton?
  14. Yeah, Y&R is becoming B&B of the mid-2000's. What next, Mario Lopez as a recast Raul?
  15. I enjoyed the trailer, looking forward to having these core ladies back along with some newbies! Yes, Gizelle is basking in her newfound queen bee role. It'll be... interesting to see how Gizelle and Wendy interact with Monique when she returns. [I still wish we could see an unedited version of that reunion...]
  16. Thank you for your continued write-ups and added wit I'm always weeks behind (just got into August!) so it's nice to know what to look forward to/watch out for.
  17. Haha, I was just thinking the former Carly's are always popping up somewhere on another soap, but never quite sticking around for the long haul. I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did on DAYS, though I was certain she'd be back soon, or had already been back and taped and left again; who knows with DAYS. Heck, she'll probably appear in Salem next June for a 3 week stint.
  18. A non-window always bugged me with Paulina/Abe's place that's now Chanel/Johnny's. One thing Paul Rauch could do well was creating a look of natural lighting. If there's a "window" on the 4th wall we don't see, we'd be sure to see sunlight shining through some Venetian blinds.
  19. Agreed, and I think that's the problem for a lot of these Housewives shows these days with newer casts. [Side note: To provide a soap analogy as I tend to do, it's like watching seasons 5 & 6 of Melrose Place, where most of the original cast is gone; i.e. the cast that was firmly established in roots in the first season so that by the time they cranked up the crazy, we still understood where the OG's were coming from. Once they had the cast turnover from Season 5 to 6, we had just a few OG's left and were otherwise flooded with newbies with no firm establishment; it was just plot after plot with no substance or reflection. That's how present-day Housewives are to me, where they just immediately get thrown into petty stuff or have to dig up dirt, but we see no growth or anything that resembles genuine, organic friendships. ] With some of our shows on hiatus, hubby and I randomly picked Season 9 of RHOC to watch in reruns. At first, it was just going to be a one eppy thing, but then we got engrossed in it and I remembered this was the first season where I actually liked the show. They had just done a mini reboot of axing Gretchen, Alexis, and one-season Lydia, and rebuilt around Vicki, Tamra, Heather (only 1 season under her belt), and newbies Shannon and Lizzie. I can't imagine these shows working with only 5 castmembers now. And actually, the first 3 episodes only had 4 castmembers, as Lizzie didn't premiere until the 4th episode. But back then, we still had a lot of family interaction -- interaction that was interesting -- such as Vicki with her children, Heather & Terry and their 1st of many house projects, Tamra starting up CUT fitness with Eddie, and meeting Shannon and her very awkward, uncomfortable marriage with David. When the cast interacted, it was a lot of light-heartedness with only some shade and tension (this was when Vicki & Tamra thought Heather was too snooty). Okay, I digress... In addition to the intel and digging up dirt on people's marriages, businesses, kids, past, etc. to weaponize it for the show, I also find it obnoxious when half the story takes place through screenshots of texts, instagram posts, instagram comments, instagram DM's, tweets, twats, X's, etc. I know it's the world we live in now with our phones being an extension of ourselves, but to me it gets convoluted and sometimes hard to follow, or I just lose interest in trying to follow along (it doesn't help that Bravo gives us such a short time to read some of the mess; I'm not going to be constantly pausing to read endless receipts). To summarize a long random post, I also wish they'd go back to the way things were run in the earlier seasons; it's what made them so popular in the first place! Okay, back to work I go
  20. I agree on both assessments. Though they did recover creatively and put on an overall consistently strong show from Season 3 to the end, they really took the wind out of their own sail with that disastrous season 2. I loved Desperate Housewives, but what I don't love is how so many scripted shows since have adopted that cheeky, wink-wink nudge-nudge to the audience, where's it's half drama / half comedy. Case in point: DAYS' Possession 1.0 took themselves seriously. Possession 2.0 was a cheap Ron version of a Desperate Housewives clown show.
  21. Oh yeah, that's right! And when they did the recreated flashbacks, they used Chandler Massey's real-life younger brother as Will.
  22. Oh damn good for him! He's hilarious
  23. DAYS could really benefit from everyone doing a "Port Charles" hiatus and take off for a solid 6 months, at least. If need be, the writers, producers etc can gather and reassess, but have the show go dark in the meantime. That kind of advanced taping for a soap is just ridiculous.
