  1. It's got to be local access or streaming. It's streaming on Aiden's Twitch! That actually would've been pretty fun and current. GH is getting another SOD magazine for it's 60th. I can't embed the post but this is from their instagram and according to this post with Emma Samms and Tristan Rogers it's a full size magazine. Lucky and Liz, my babies.
  2. I'm sure @Vee knows better but I believe so. A current and former GH script writer, whose name is escaping me, did a The Locher Room interview a few weeks ago stated he was let go when FV and RC joined the show. Ron asked him to stay on an additional, I think, 6 weeks or so but he knew as soon as they were hired that he'd be out of a job. That's a soap cliche I've just had to begrudgingly learn to accept. I was watching some GH from the 90s as you know and Ryan was reading a newspaper where the headline (the HEADLINE) read "FELICIA JONES TO WED MAC SCORPIO" or something similarly insane. Headlines about world famous people are hardly ever THAT direct. Even stop the presses news like Oprah finally marrying Stedman would say something like "Longtime loves Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham to finally say yes to marriage and tie the knot".
  3. Good article! Expected answers but enjoyable nonetheless. And yes, the number of children under 15 on this show is decidedly out of hand. Liz: Aiden and Jake Carly and Sonny: Donna Willow and Michael: Amelia and Wiley Sam: Scout and Danny Lulu and Dante: Rocco Lulu and Valentin: Charlotte Ava and Sonny: Avery Olivia and Ned: Leo Esme: Ace Finn: That lispy little girl. I'm not looking her up. Maxie: Three of them, don't expect me to know their names. And I know at least one of them isn't actively on the show. Can someone tell this to Y&R? The Abbott living room looks like it smells. On second thought nevermind, they'd end up gutting it and painting the walls blue.
  4. I wonder why his social issue stories aren't remembered/praised as much as ones from other soaps like Robin's HIV on GH or Bianca coming out on AMC. Maybe it's because Y&R's characters have always been a bit removed, I loved the show at one point but I can't deny that it hasn't always had the warmest of characters. Under Bell (and maybe a few years after he stepped down) they often felt like chess pieces in his long game and less like people so even their crises had a sheen of artifice.
  5. Because they're not actual drawings, it's a photoshop action that turns an image into a sketched drawing. Good idea, poor execution.
  6. I don't know where that sad face emoji came from. But yeah, good for her!
  7. Yeah I watched an episode last week where AJ was hounding Brenda about going after Ned, clearly signaling that AJ/Brenda were the intended couple.
  8. What in the Chi Chi LaRue Actually I've heard great things about the film, looking forward to it. Kim Zimmer had a movie premiere at SXSW a few weeks ago starring her son Jake Weary (ex-Luke, ATWT) because of course. Her character description (included for @Vee) A brash tow truck driver (Kim Zimmer) Michael R. Jackson's new musical is about a soap opera and there was a soap opera NIGHT March 28th where apparently "Former and current stars of One Life To Live, Guiding Light, As The World Turns, and more are expected to attend." (good luck with that currently business). I'm surprised this wasn't posted about here and that I only heard about it on the SOD podcast. Or maybe I missed it! BTW The musical is described as: *Clearly he was a fan or either Y&R or GH in the 90s.
  9. No honest to god her body language with him screams "GET AWAY FROM ME!". You'll notice Liz never starts a conversation with him, it's always Finn pouncing on her as soon as she's in eyesight. I'm crossing my fingers for a new opening today.
  10. I thought she was going to frame Diane? I expected the gala to end with Diane holding a bloody knife or something.
  11. I'll say this much...Y&R has slightly less return from the dead plots than the other soaps so when someone fakes their death it's a little more impactful.
  12. Sprina got a second billboard. And I think this is them seeing it in person. To Errol's point I really hope ABC doesn't give a fück, they could use all the (FREE) advertising they can get.
  13. I would say Ron should be embarrassed but he clearly had no qualms about embarrassing himself considering the current state of Days. Sonny's current penthouse is meant to be his former penthouse? The door isn't even on the right side. It looks like a waiting room at a doctor's office.
  14. Olivia and Malcolm literally had a custody battle over him and Malcolm won! Malcolm is his fücking father. Fuuuuck this show.
  15. The slow movement of their story has the side effect of only galvanizing their fanbase. Plus you have two young charismatic actors who know how to use social media and engage with their audience. Plus GH despite low ratings still has more cultural cache than the other soaps left on the air.
  16. Fan campaigns? In 2023? This is crazy, most soap couples are out here holding onto the ghost of their popularity from 20-40 years ago and we have a brand new couple with fans who care enough to get an ad in Times Square. Crazy!
  17. He's a little pretentious. Finding the rap/spoken word/slam poetry/whatever the eff EP last week he tried to scrub from the internet proved that to me. But he's probably the best new actor on soaps in years and he's young so I'll allow it. Yesterday's Sonya Eddy/Epiphany tribute made me cry, when I heard Monica's voice for some reason I lost it. I think I just feel a deep affection for Liz that seeing her get a win makes me happy every single time. And the self-flagellation has hopefully come to an end, other characters do so much worse and never show an ounce of guilt. But I suppose that's what makes her one of the few who tries to stay morally right. Now get her away from Michael Easton and his 2am DJ voice!
  18. That's the nickname Ryan had for Esme. I don't think show is that bad. But god do I agree about Willow, she's been on the brink of death for 3 solid months. She's definitely NOT dying so stretching it out like this is the type of pacing that gets soaps parodied. She also doesn't look very ill at all. The actress has just been coming into work with only foundation on. Oh and a ponytail! The whole Valentin/Lucy/Anna/Victor plot hasn't moved an inch in forever. They've been hiding out in that cabin for at least a month, with Lucy freaking out in the background whole Valentin and Anna sit on the couch sprawled over each other like a couple of teenagers. And Victor is not a good villain! He's not imposing at all and his goal is literally unknown. That isn't enjoyable to watch. I think Lucy, Valentin and Anna faking their deaths would bother me if the people who really matter to them didn't know the truth. Who amongst their close family/friends doesn't know they're alive? I guess Kevin? Does Robin know Anna is actually alive? I think Spencer and Trina probably get the best writing out of all the couples on the show, they're clearly very invested in this pairing and the conversations they have reflect that.
  19. Erica's was the first legal one. Maude's aired in '72 before Roe v Wade passed, Erica's in '73.
  20. That's a big frickin get for daytime. When was the last someone really famous was on a soap? Snoop on OLTL?
  21. I think so and none with longterm injury either. I don't think we even got a wheelchair stint out of any of those.
  22. I like Mo Collins but they always talk about the same shît in all of these. There's got to be a checklist.
  23. I bet you anything that that is Renee Ellis Goldsberry. Idk why she's so light or why her arms are so thick or how she even got the cover but that's her face.
  24. I don't know whether to respect Bell for writing sexual assault storylines for Christine, the idea that he was able to separate the character from his real life daughter is respectable, or find it fricking weird. I wonder if LLB has ever considered taking off some aspect of the show's production. Her reverence for her father and the show feels a lot more genuine than her brother's (but who knows how she would be with more control?). I doubt she'd want to or that it's even an option since Sony owns it. Just a thought.
