Good & Bad Paternity/Maternity Reveals & Changes
Hated it. It was just Emmy bait for JJ. What they should’ve done was work overtime to reestablish the love JJ and RH’s versions of the characters had for each other and then find some other road block. Not Liz effing Nikolas. Liz had also just gotten done with another who’s the daddy involving one of the same man. But no, Lucky calling Liz a whore was more important.

Dear God no more look-a-likes on this show! I get what you mean but at this point, let's stick with where they're going. Make her somewhat gray, maybe she doesn't get her memory back but DOES use her baby to get in Spencer's good graces and drive a wedge between Spencer and Trina. Just put Liz with Cody. I think there's enough contrast in characters to make something work there, he's fun and Liz has mired in misery for a year. Let her some casual uninhibited sex with him, maybe feelings develops on his side despite being the "fun" one and go from there. Also Michael Easton's gravelly baritone, which was sexy to someone somewhere when he was younger, just makes him sound like a creeper next to Becky because he, well looks his age, and she looks so much younger than her age. Josh Kelly isn't the problem with Cody btw, it's that they have nothing for him to sink his teeth into because they're making up story and backstory for him on a whim. Yes but he never got to boss around the whole town! You got Laura telling everyone from the ADA who to prosecute to janitorial staff where to put their mops. Love that for her. And yeah I instinctively wanted to have her go by "Laura Spencer" as I was typing that but then I remembered "Fück Luke". Also Monday when Heather was yelling at Laura I fully expected her to call her "LAURA SPENCER" because it would've just made sense.

I'm glad this observation wasn't just me! I think there's potential for the character oddly enough. He's currently unrelated to anyone (which is nigh impossible on this show where everyone has to secretly related to someone else), he's an enforcer actively working against Sonny and as much as I hate her, he and Joss do have a ton of sexual chemistry (Eden McCoy practically recoiled at William Lipton, I'm sorry). Also I think the actor's tearful portrayal is him trying to show that he's invested in the part and doing a Good Job. So I did some googling thinking maybe it was his first role and he was trying to prove himself but no, he's got a pretty extensive IMDB. Okay, maybe he's just bad. You know something I just thought of, this show is 100% going to use Laura to rehabilitate Esme. I bet you anything she and the baby are going to go in to Laura and Kevin's care. e. They're pillars of the community plus she's the baby's grandmother and he's Esme's uncle. It makes sense. Also @Vee's touched on this but I love how Laura runs Port Charles. She's more like a mafia boss than Sonny EVER was. Bossing around cops and officers of the court and everyone going "Yes, Mayor Collins". This is exactly what Genie and Laura deserve after 40 years of the Luke and his unending manpain. BTW I'd give anything if she chose at this point in life to go by Laura Webber but I'm asking for too much, I know.

I knew his ass wasn't dead. Why Austin, the DOCTOR, didn't check that Nik was dead? Or how they both carried his body without realizing he wasn't dead. Ridiculous but soaps! I wonder what Liz's little smirk was about when she walked away from Finn. HmmT. They have to stop celebrating whenever Willow gets a match. Celebrate AFTER you're sure Liesl is a suitable candidate. I don't know if it's the actress or the dialogue but Joss talks like she's narrating every scene. "This is all so sad. I know Michael is feeling lost and stressed but he's hiding it so well. I know Willow is suffering despite the brave front she's putting up." Are you a person or a recording device? Sonny, who talks like maybe he should get some neurological testing, and Dex, who talks like he's on the verge of tears at any point, having dinner for an hour is excruciating television. Thank god I didn't watch any of it. Dex is the perfect definition of a soap himbo. Neither the actor or character is giving us anything but he's sure pretty to look at.

Grade February Sweeps!!!
Spencer Trina Laura Ava Cameron Liz (forever and always, I don't care what she does. I'm a Liz stan till the day one of us dies) Portia (Brook Kerr just seems so happy to have a real character to play after 10 long years on Passions playing garbage) Mac Felicia (even though I think Kristina Wagner is an awful actress but she's so cute I can get past it) Alexis (I just like seeing NLG work) Anna (because she's Anna and Finola. I find her stories useless filler, even moreso with Valentin right there stinking up the screen) Austin (surprisingly. And once he's away from Ava I'm absolutely positive that will go away) Liesl (entirely because of the actress) Nikolas (if he's alive and played by Adam Huss or someone who isn't Marcus Coloma) Minus characters who haven't appeared in weeks/months like Monica, Lucy, Martin, etc. Literally everyone else could disappear and I'd be grateful. Also GH was the only soap I watched last month and it gets an A- for the current state of daytime, if this were idk 1998 it would have gotten a solid B-/C+.

The current Quartermaine mansion is allegedly based on blueprints of the original mansion. According to the set designer, the former placement of the front door had been a logistical problem for filming for years (which I'm sure was only exacerbated by how quickly they film now).

And I love that it's still used so frequently and a legacy character in Cameron even works there. Did they ever try to phase it out? I was watching some clips from the late 2000s/early 2010s a few weeks ago and characters were frequenting some ugly little (I mean tiny) coffee place for a while.

Y&R March 2023 Preview
Why would Victoria and Nikki ever do this? Why would any of these people return for a fricking town's bicentennial? Maybe on a show like Guiding Light or ATWT or AMC you could get away with this excuse but not on Y&R, Genoa City is not that kind of town. This is just beyond. You're telling me they couldn't come up with ANY other reason to have a big party? It's such lazy writing. And where is this celebration happening? In the lobby of the Grand Phoenix? On the patio at Crimson Lights? No, maybe in Noah's new club that looks like the fever dream of a methhead who just read an abridged version of Alice in Wonderland?

That's stupid. Who are they going to nominate? The lispy little girl who plays Violet? No thanks. Thursday was the biggest bump in the road since I returned. Don't ever let that happen again. I even tolerated Willow Wailing today. Sasha and Willow have a real Perils of Pauline competition going on. If Michael ever dies (fingers crossed) they'll be tied! This whole Trina paternity story would be better if Donnell Turner were remotely good. He's awful, not as bad as the actress who plays Jordan (she's certainly meeting her guarantees this month) but not far behind! Yesterday's scenes with Laura and Spencer were excellent. The moment when Spencer started to cry and Genie's started crying in synch with him...good shît. And man am I happy to see Laura treated like the matriarch and show centerpiece she is. Despite other soaps letting multiple people over 60 lead story, Laura is the only true matriarch left on daytime. Isn't that NUTS? And sad? Alley Mills is Heather to me, she took ownership of the role and ran with it. This show lucked out with her and Adam Huss coming in and pinch hitting the way that they did, coming in the climax of stories and doing fantastic work. Luckily for them the work was pretty top notch too. I hope Heather is gone for a good long time but I'll miss AM.

Sonny and Spencer have had multiple scenes discussing Spencer’s custody situation over just the last few weeks. He was likely there because he heard the news and wanted to check on Spencer. None of it was random. I’m not trying to be a dîck but you post with such authority and get basic facts wrong in every other post. It’s maddening. And would be easier to ignore (like I do a number of the yahoos who post here (you don’t know who you are)) if you weren’t so damn articulate. No, all of this happened on the night of Portia’s wedding to Curtis, which was the day after Nikolas “died”. They’ve technically covered only 3 days this month lol and it’s technically only February 15th. I wonder if they’ll act like Nik has been in storage for weeks or just a day. Also re: Heather as the hook. I recall her telling Ryan she only committed some of the murders while Esme was locked up so they’d know there was no way it was Esme. So unless another shoe is about to drop this is a big re-write.

Ruined for me by literally every character that showed up in the opening segment. The immediate disinterest that washed over me when Dante and Sam showed up, followed by Cody then Sasha then Joss and Dex then Brook Lynn then SONNY. It's like they didn't want me to watch at all today. So I didn't. What a boring bunch of characters. I realized today I can't stand more than half of the cast.

Sylvia Browne was a charlatan, like all psychics. I'd love to know why this show kept throwing story after story at Jensen Buchanan's Vicky when according to the ratings she didn't move the needle. It's weird that they never did a real radical change to the show given it stayed at the bottom of the ratings for so long, other soaps fluctuated at two positions or more at least but AW stayed in the basement.
