  1. I think he's great, I will never say a bad word about him because he's one of the few who commit to the work even when it's terrible. Watching people like Michelle Stafford sabotage the material with her hammy nonsense or Joshua Morrow sleepwalk through every scene makes me respect him all the more.
  2. Back when characters had a point of view and personalities. Now they just commiserate, emphasis on the misery, about their employment status. He's just suddenly gay. And I don't even think it was to generate buzz, they're just unimaginative. They're never going to use him so it's basically pointless.
  3. The fact that there is no commentary on Nick (or Jack back when he and Sally were a thing) dating a woman nearly half his age speaks to just how toothless this show has become. The Young and The Ageless. Because Y&R only has children and adults who could be anywhere between 25 and 45. Hard stop at 45. And that's being generous because Noah's 30 but his parents? 40.
  4. 40th anniversary with no story, purpose or drive. But yay she's still here!
  5. No, but this is crazy. Anna and Valentine not only got a hotel set for this story (that frankly isn't remotely interesting and I like Lucy, who I guess has been tied up and gaged for 4 months? This is stupid, I'm sorry), they got a church set! And now catacombs!) But everyone in Genoa City lives in one of the 4 restaurants in town! What is going?! Now Dante and Sam are going to LONDON??? Meaning more (potential) sets! Glad that Cameron got to say his piece. He was completely in the right and Joss did not care about anything about his feelings, just her stupid mobster boyfriend. I really have to praise GH for their familial connections. They've been good about family not just being biology. For instance, I've always liked that Mac is a father figure to Robin and a father, perhaps not legally, to Maxie (and Georgie) and thus they were cousins and acted like it. Not to praise Sonny or the hell Michael's existence has thrust upon this show but there's no question that Sonny is his parent. And I really love that Laura is Cameron's grandmother and they don't feel the need to say "Well, not biologically". Liz adores Laura and I think she would have served as a grandmother to him regardless but Lucky was an involved father to him during his childhood, he was his dad and didn't care about DNA because he loved Liz. And I hope they've kept that connection off-screen. I don't want some scenario whenever Jonathon comes back or they decided to recast where they act like Lucky was some deadbeat or only fatherly toward Aiden. It's not in his nature.
  6. Is the show them sitting around reminiscing?
  7. I started watching during this storyline. I think right after Barbara was injured in the explosion. The scenes of an injured Barbara talking to James with the moody lighting and intense music were so intriguing. I enjoyed it quite a bit as someone who'd never watched the show before. And I loved Simon and Katie (I know), Rose and Paul, Hal and Emily. I never liked Lily and Holden, she was obnoxious and he was a deathly dull actor. The show actually lost me when they fired Scott Holroyd (who WAS smokin') for that ham Roger Howarth. And I just realized I wasn't invested in the show for very long!
  8. They've all had work done definitely, the men and women, but her's stands out to me because her face, somehow, has no lines and is tight as a drum.
  9. Oh so they're just lazy. Noted.
  10. Holy crap the dialogue for Joss...do they not realize that she is a monster? She doesn't even view sleeping with someone else while with her boyfriend as cheating. What an absolute psycho.
  11. I don't know where else to post this but daytime is so bizarre. There are 4 soaps left and despite 70+ years of their existence they've only had a handful of Asian characters YET right now there are two Asian characters on different shows named Li. What in the world are the chances?
  12. Her plastic surgery has made her face basically immobile BUT at the time she looks ageless, not pulled and prodded like a Nicole Kidman. It's almost as if she's wearing a mask of her own face from 1992.
  13. Meant to reply to this, thank you. And yeah I'd stay too, especially with writing soaps being the only thing on their resume and many of them being at or near retirement age. I'll write your garbage Bradley!
  14. She looks amazing. I hate when people say this but she's hardly aged. She looks maybe 5 years older and it's been 20. Maurice jokes about Michael trying to take him down for cheating with Nina but forgiving him for killing AJ. Neither of them remember hardly anything about their stories.
  15. Thanks @Broderick I didn't know about her! And while not a Y&R production team nepo baby Steven Ford (Andy) definitely is one. Devon and Lily are on several times per week and have what you might calls "stories" but they hardly have defining character traits. They just exist as token black people. No drive, no purpose, no internal life. I guess that could be said for all of the characters on Y&R right now but most of them had some defining characteristic at one point. Devon hasn't had a consistent personality since he was 16. And Lily only lived to sustain whatever that relationship was that she had with Cain for most of her time on the show. Now she only exists so Billy has someone to talk to.
  16. How much do headwriters make? I remember reading at one point it was in excessive of 1 million a year but is that still the case in this zombie genre?
  17. That makes a lot of sense, especially for the time and trajectory of Erica's career. Thank you!
  18. Girl, bye. Actually it would be pretty ballsy if she did die. Both of Nina's daughters dead and she didn't get a chance to know either of them. Ha! Suffer.
  19. Sierra, Y&R's second (?) nepo baby.
  20. Thank you, friend. I grew up on Robin's Janet and only saw Kate's years later on youtube so I was pretty pissed at what they turned Janet into. Killing Trevor? Go to hell. I know you're gonna say something like "I never bought her redemption, she always had this in her" but the Janet I knew would NEVER. *plugs ears* That show pretends Dru didn't exist so this doesn't surprise me. Neil had an unnamed wife who died. Lily and Devon had an unnamed mother who died. Neil, also dead, gets mentioned often because they liked Kristoff. Even on other soaps where actors were fired for misconduct their characters still get mentioned. But Victoria Rowell wanted better working conditions and dared to say something while black? Let's act like Dru had no friends and that her children wouldn't miss her terribly and talk about her all of the time (Dru was the head of that household, Neil was a mealy-mouthed do boy). They can fück off.
  21. It was, as a non-AW viewer I liked them a lot. Tom Eplin and Lesli Kay had amazing chemistry. I can't remember if he chose to leave or if they let him go. It's interesting when shifting timelines cause character connections to get lost. Since the actress who played/plays Emma on GH has been allowed to age in real time but the characters she was surrounded by were SORASed it's now this weird thing where people she was literally in a love triangle with at 8 years old are now 20 or 21 and she's only 16. You'll see an old clip of someone holding a baby and then 15 years later they're lovers. The way Sami's husband EJ, a man with whom she has 3 children, was born after her adult son.
  22. Watching old clips and man, Emily was such a jerk to this whole family. They weren't perfect but I don't know if I as a regular viewer could handle this little urchin joining my show solely to talk shît about all of the characters I did like. The Quartermaines are loud and can be obnoxious and self-involved but the contrast the show tried to set up between them and literally mobsters never made a lick of sense. "Michael is being raised in a caring and loving home!" where he could be shot at at any moment? Also Monica and Alan raised Jason in that horrible Quartermaine household and he turned out to be kind and considerate. Emily was raised there from the age of 12 and turned out alright. Shît, outside of his drinking problem AJ was hardly a bad person. He only, from what I could see, went after people who hurt him. He wasn't like Carly, who intentionally ruined people's lives in service to her own self-interest. And man, Carly would not have survived as a character in the internet age we have now. Steve Hardy died shortly after she joined and show, she's in that episode and in it she laments to Jason that Steve dying is taking the focus off of some stupid accomplishment she had. She says something like "Could he have waited a day?". A day to DIE? To DIE, Carly? How about you die. How about that.
  23. Ahh wha haven't we discussed on this board lol if anyone can find it that would be amazing
