as it says above: Voting experts have long warned that comparing voting rolls to DMV data is not a reliable way to find non-citizens on the rolls because there may be paperwork errors and people can become naturalized after getting their driver’s license. The plaintiffs in the lawsuit said they had identified several people who were in fact citizens but had their registrations wrongly canceled. Over 1600 voters were removed from Virginia's voting rolls, including some citizens who were born in Virginia. Virginia, which is predicted to vote for Kamala Harris this fall, provides same-day voter registration, allowing anyone who was wrongfully removed to re-register at the polls. - My response to the above: With six days to go, how will they reach all those voters who were wrongly removed, to tell them to go vote anyhow with whatever documentation might be needed? She cast her first ballot for Barack Obama. A big surprise recently arrived in the mail; a letter from election officials told Martin, 37, her voter registration had been cancelled because she’s a noncitizen. Martin, a lifelong Virginian, was baffled. “I was confused, to be honest. I was born and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, so, you’ve got everything about me and now you’re saying that I’m an alien. Why would you let me vote before and not now?” she asked in an interview with News4. Martin is one of 1,600 Virginians whose voter registration was cancelled after Gov. Glenn Youngkin issued an executive order on Aug. 7 ordering election officials to speed up the process of purging noncitizens form voter rolls. In many cases, the voters were removed because they checked a box or missed checking a box on a DMV form designating them as a noncitizen. The Department of Justice and groups representing immigrant communities filed suit and said the purge violated a federal law that bars voter registration cancellations so close to an election. “So many stories have come out. These are U.S. citizens. They are being prohibited their right to vote,” said Monica Sarmiento, executive director of the Virginia Coalition for Immigrant Rights. That’s Martin’s story and why it’s included in the lawsuit. She got a new driver’s license in the spring and suspects some type of mistake was made. Both a federal judge and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the purge violated federal law and ordered all 1,600 voters be reinstated. HOWEVER -- despite that court ruling ordering the reinstatement ... The State (Commonwealth) of Virginia asked the U.S. Supreme Court to block the reinstatement of voters, writing, “States are free to systematically remove noncitizens, as well as minors and fictitious persons, at any time, including within 90 days of an election, without running afoul of the [National Voter Registration Act].”

State -- a district that votes liberal in some towns and very conservative in other towns. (The district borders Portland Oregon on the south but is also comprised of some very conservative rural areas) Complicated district. Ms. Jaime Herrera Beutler was the Congresswoman from that district previously (2011 through January 2023). She's a Republican who voted against impeaching Tr*mp in 2019, but then was one of the few Republicans who voted in favor of impeaching him in 2021. In general, she supported Republican stances and Tr*mp's agenda most of the time; but January 6th was too much for her and she supported the establishment of the Jan 6th Commission. Herrera Beutler lost in the 2022 Republican primary to an election-denier (Joe Kent). A Democrat won the Nov. 2022 general election for that district, defeating Joe Kent. The district was won in 2022 by Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who is a "Blue Dog Democrat". She began serving in January 2023. She is running for reelection in 2024, against the same Republican election denier (Joe Kent) that she defeated in 2022.

Mainstream news outlets now feature stories about felon and former president Donald Trump’s “strikingly erratic, coarse and often confusing” rambling speeches, “cognitive decline,” and bizarre behavior. This evidence of mental breakdown, coupled with his event cancellations due to reports of “exhaustion” (reports his campaign has denied), give voters every reason to think that Trump could not complete a second term or would be “out of it.” Either way, his vice-presidential pick, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), the most disliked man ever to run for vice president, would be running the show. And considering the opposition from most of the “adults” from the first term, he might be relying on likely Trump Cabinet officials and advisers such as Kash Patel, Stephen K. Yeah some shows do release fake names in casting that give clues to the actual character name... here are two examples: In 2014, the casting announcement for Y&R was for the character "Aaron Newton" but they didn't veil it well, because speculation was that it was obviously Adam Newman -- and indeed Justin Hartley was cast as Adam. In 2023, it was announced that AnnaLynne McCord was cast as "Marin" for DAYS and there was speculation that it was a code name for Abigail Deveraux -- because Ashley Benson once played Abigail on DAYS and then Benson went on to play "Hannah Marin" in the Pretty Little Liars shows. Turns out that McCord's character is "FakeAbigail" who was recently revealed to be Cat Greene. But yeah, when casting for a brand new soap, I don't think it would be spoilerish to give out the character names. Maybe it's just something casting directors are used to doing.

The district attorney did not provide information on who was funding the canvassers but asked anyone who had been approached about suspicious registrations to contact her office. "It appears to be an organized effort," Adams said, noting that the investigation is ongoing. Adams said her investigators found problems with 60% of the registrations they have so far reviewed. She did not say how many of the 2,500 registrations had been investigated. She said applications came from people living in the city, as well as Columbia, Elizabethtown, Akron, Ephrata, Stevens and Strasburg. She also said the same organization or organizations responsible for submitting the registrations were believed to be active in two other counties. She did not name those counties but said her investigators had reached out to them. Some of the registration applications submitted by the groups were found to be genuine, Adams said, and those voters will be registered.
