2024: The Directors and Writers Thread
So Dave Ryan credited for both Y&R and DAYS since July 2024. Now finally credited only for Y&R. His first Y&R script was probably filmed in June to air in July, and it might have been written a while before it was filmed. The writing-to-taping-to-airdate gap is so different with the two shows.

Phil Morris (Tyrone) currently on CBS Friday nights as Eve's father on Fire Country, as of Dec. 13. It's up on Paramount Plus, season 3 episode 8. Haven't watched it yet but will check it out for him! (thanks to @slick jones for mentioning it) Great tie-in that he was in a 1994 Y&R repeat today. Fire Country has great actors except for the lead character who is a marysue(garystu). I watched the first two seasons but I just can't stomach the lead character "Bode", so I haven't watched Season 3 at all. I love the character Eve, so I'm curious about Phil Morris playing her father.

Soap Hoppers: The Soap Actors And Roles Thread
I just watched him on an old episode of Star Trek Voyager last night, and was going to tell you, and here he is. Excellent episode. Season Six, episode 8, "One Small Step". He plays an 21st Century astronaut John Kelly whose ship is discovered by Voyager within a spatial anomaly. He's not alive when they find him but he recorded lots of stuff in his final days and the Voyager crew watches his videos, and also the episode shifts to show the past with him alive making the recordings. His character is very brave. Here's Phil Morris' memoryalpha profile of all the various Star Trek series and film roles he's had: https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Phil_Morris He talks about playing a Jem'Hadar warrior on Deep Space Nine here: https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Remata'Klan

Yes I've noticed that Mealor really speaks like Bergman, it's fascinating. I find the character of Kyle to be annoying and I'm not that entranced with Mealor's acting, but I have noticed his ability to mimic Bergman's delivery. As I am a viewer who is hard-of-hearing, I have always appreciated PB's enunciation, even if nobody speaks that way in real life. He's one of the few actors I can understand without closed-captioning!

I posted this back on October 7th, but the original embedded tweets no longer display due to twitter issues. reposting now due to the topic of conversation: --------- Michele Val Jean noticed that someone had tweeted the revised B&B opening photos, and commented on the B&B theme song. Then she replied to herself with one of the GH opening themes. Her tweets don't relate specifically to BTG, but I note her continued respect for her former workplaces. And ... this shows that she does think about opening theme songs, so of course I wonder what will be the opening theme for BTG. https://x.com/MicheleValJean/status/1841679754698883179
