The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Well, I posted that above in July 2024, but my original post is now displaying as simply blank space. I just checked and discovered that Wally Kurth has since deleted his entire twitter account. I don't remember what he had said -- but it was a photo or clip of Jane or Tracy (something highlighting her magnificence).

Y&R: Old Articles
These are fascinating, thanks for posting! I just found Lilyan Chauvin on page 12 of SoapHoppers https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/55788-soap-hoppers-the-soap-actors-and-roles-thread/page/12 @slick jones have you seen these interviews? I see that she died in 2008 but she had a blog and a website, which are still maintained. It mentions some GH actors who were her students or were coached in French by her. Kin Shriner spoke at her memorial service. https://lilyanchauvin.blogspot.com/ https://lilyanchauvin.com/

ALL: Extremely long-held secrets that still haven’t been revealed to other characters?
DAYS: An attempted murder in August 2007: EJ lured Lucas into a freezer truck, and locked him in there, intentionally leaving him there to die from freezing. Sami later figured out where Lucas was, and convinced EJ to help her rescue Lucas, so EJ had to do that in order to please Sami. https://www.soapcentral.com/days-of-our-lives/days-of-our-lives-weekly-recap-for-070806 As far as I know, Sami still thinks EJ was helping her rescue Lucas that day, and nobody ever found out that EJ arranged for Lucas to die there. I don't think Sami or Lucas or anyone (except EJ) knows the truth.

DAYS: December 2024 Spoilers
------------------ Deadline seems to have updated their article? It now says: Deadline https://deadline.com/2024/12/days-of-our-lives-james-read-departure-clyde-weston-1236200953/ ‘Days Of Our Lives’ Bids Farewell To James Read: “It’s Been A Fabulous Run” by Lynette Rice for Deadline December 11, 2024 Another one bites the dust in Salem: James Read has left Days of Our Lives — at least for now. His villainous character, Clyde Weston, was shot in the December 11 episode by Catherina Greene (Susan Elena Matus) for all the hell he’s brought to her family. He’s left in a coma. “It’s been a fabulous run so far, only the soap gods know if it is meant to continue!” he tells Deadline. “I always think of Days as a family and have enjoyed every minute of working there since I started 10 years ago.” (Followed by Deadline giving a brief summary of character history, actor career, and a quote from 2022 SOD) --------------- Yeah what I just posted is definitely an edit/update from Deadline - (Deadline saying he's in a coma) -- because here is a screenshot of the headline from the google menu, (apparently a google cache) showing Deadline saying he was killed: --------------- I guess Deadline edited it more than once? because jswift quoted Deadline as saying something about resurrections being common on Days so he could return down the road -- and the current version of Deadline doesn't say any of that. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Most recent statement from SOD: Soap Opera Digest https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/james-read-out-at-days-of-our-lives-as-clyde-weston/ James Read Out at Days of Our Lives as Clyde Weston by Mara Levinsky and Diane Brounstein for SOD December 11, 2024 It looks like crime no longer pays for Clyde Weston on Days of Our Lives, which means that it’s the end of the line for his portrayer, James Read, who first appeared on the show in 2014. Clyde found himself on the wrong end of Catharina’s gun on the Wednesday, December 11 episode of the Peacock soap and Digest can confirm the actor is out — at least for now. True, when Chapman played Gloria as John Abbott's wife, in opposition to Eileen Davidson as her stepdaughter Ashley, Chapman played Gloria as OTT sometimes but with unexpected moments of nuance and vulnerability. Gloria was her own person back then. More recently Gloria has been written as only OTT. Chapman does what she can but it's poor material. And she's aired only a few times in the past several years.

I thought Judith Chapman's best work was as Ginny Blake on GH. Her work as Anjelica on DAYS was acceptable but not as great as Jane Elliot. Judith's character Gloria on Y&R was written as over-the-top, so she played it as written but I didn't enjoy the character. On Y&R, Gloria is the mother of Rikaart's character Kevin, but it was stupid to bring her to DAYS as the mother of Rikaart's Leo. Ron just propping Leo by doing this crossover that didn't work. I mean Judith played Diana as Ron wrote her, but I hate how he wrote her.

Random coincidence that two conversations on this page tie together. Yes James Read played George Hazzard on North and South. Genie Francis played his sister-in-law in that series. Jonathan Frakes played Read's brother and Genie's husband, and then Jonathan and Genie married in real life.

Y&R - November 2024 Episode Rankings
I laughed so hard at this, as others said, the hilarious A.I. style of writing, and the shade. Yet I myself would have said in all seriousness: As a Y&R viewer, I admired Gina Tognoni for portraying Phyllis as someone who, despite battling her own demons, fought with an unshakable tenacity for justice regarding the crimes committed against her by Victor. I also admired Sandra Nelson for her complex portrayal of Phyllis as a villain who insidiously took over Danny's life.

Some of the above-posted dates for the specific casting announcements - might be off by one airdate. A few of the recent spoiler pics from the past several days seem to have been labeled with a JPI episode # that was off by one airdate. Maybe some of the scenes from the week of Dec. 2nd might have been shifted to a different airdate during the editing process? (I'm not sure, it's just a guess, I could be wrong.)- DAYS: December 2024 Spoilers

https://x.com/thejonlindstrom/status/1864318488610832402 Jon Lindstrom @thejonlindstrom December 4, 2024 I know many of you have been sending healing thoughts to Lynn and her family in the last few days. Wayne was such a vital and powerful soul that it’s hard to imagine him no longer on this plane with us mere mortals. But I have to take a moment to acknowledge my friend Lynn’s bravery, grace, dignity and, most of all, her unwavering devotion to the love of her life and husband for over 4 decades. It is an inspiration and an example of what true, committed, unvarnished love can be. I’m sending her my thoughts along with all of you. I know she appreciates it, so keep ‘em coming. #LynnHerring #WayneNorthrup #BeautifulSouls @GeneralHospital #GeneralHospital #GH @DaysPeacock #DaysOfOurLives- DAYS: RIP Wayne Northrop

Now that Peyton's first scenes have aired, I can post this link to his interview (which was already posted on a spoiler thread) https://www.tvinsider.com/1164226/days-of-our-lives-doug-williams-iii-peyton-meyer-interview/ There's nothing spoilerish now (unless anyone reading is a few days behind, then don't click to see the photos). I'll just quote the relevant passage here: Meyer was excited to see that his first episode was also a milestone for the 59-year-old show. “When I got the script, I saw that it was episode 15,000, and I was like, ‘Oh, my, this is insane. Huge celebration for the cast and the crew. This is kind of cool that this is my first episode,’ ” he recalls. “So I walked on set with the excitement, obviously, of a new show and meeting a whole bunch of new people.” But the mood at the studio caught him off-guard. While he was thrilled to be starting his Days run, the cast was not only saying goodbye to Doug Williams but also to his portrayer, Bill Hayes, who passed away in January after 54 years on the show. “When I got on set, it was really down,” Meyer relays. “The energy was really low and I had no idea what was going on. We ended up filming the scenes and after, one of the crew members came up to me and she was like, ‘Just so you know, this is a very emotional day today and the fact that you were able to do that scene and carry a positive attitude into the set was so amazing to watch because I don’t know if you know what’s going on, but it’s very heavy today so thank you for coming in so professionally.’ I think it kind of worked better that I wasn’t fully aware of everything that was going on.” end quote from tvinsider. My thoughts: Not only did the show forget to tell the actor Peyton how the former character Robert's name should be pronounced -- it sounds like the show didn't tell him anything important at all! - DAYS: December 2024 Spoilers
