Jay Kenneth Johnson doesn't seem to have the stamina to do longterm acting these days, it's sad, but it is what it is. JKJ came back for the Last Blast webisode series and for other arcs, but ... I would guess that Ron might have requested John-Paul Lavoisier due to knowing him from OLTL? or maybe JPL reached out to Ron? Whatever. JPL just doesn't fit as Philip Kiriakis. What about Jacob Young? It seems like Jacob Young doesn't want to work longterm contract on soaps. From his social media, he seems interested in a variety of things, including directing. Just saying, from having watched his arrogant JR Chandler on AMC -- It seems to me like he'd fit as Philip Kiriakis, if he still has the acting talent he had years ago. At this point perhaps he'd fit better for Philip arcs, if he doesn't want to do a contract.

@dragonflies , my experience with laptops and PCs: Some browsers won't display images or embedded social media posts on messageboards -- if you have your location disabled in your browser. It makes absolutely no sense to me, but that's my experience. I mean, I tend to be a somewhat private person and generally keep most cookies and locations disabled. Chrome and Firefox shouldn't need to know where I'm reading from, in order for me to read. But for the issues you described, I have discovered that when I adjust "site settings" for the messageboard's website, for the image host site, and for the social media company websites, so that my location can be seen by those sites, then I can see all the things I couldn't see before.

Yes I was saving up money in order to subscribe to Hulu when I read recaps and posts here about how Mulcahey was writing Anna. Finally! But then ... he was gone, so I'm glad I never spent the money.

And Relic Hunter. Relic Hunter was sort of like a combination of Lara Croft and Xena, and not well done, but I adored Tia Carrere in the role. In general, I appreciate kick-butt female characters, which is why I loved the original Anna Devane before she was watered down.

One thing that intrigued me about the original romance of Brad and Lucas... Brad was biological grandson of crimelord Mr. Wu, but adopted by the respectable Cooper family. Lucas was the biological son of Julian Jerome but adopted by Tony and Bobbie Jones. So when they got to know one another, they remarked upon the coincidence of both being gay -- and both being adoptees who were biological progeny of crimelords. Lucas remained on the straight and narrow. Lucas got acquainted with Julian and was best man at Alexis and Julian's wedding, but Lucas eventually disowned Julian. Brad did skeevy things in the hospital lab but wasn't involved with the Wu family at all -- until more recent years with Selina's influence.

Jade and Selina were sisters, and their brother Kim was Brad's biological father.

Yeah. I watched live in the early years of OLTL when it was just Victoria/Niki and no other alters. It was explained that she split into herself and Niki while worrying about family dynamics, and trying to live up to expectations, and also Victoria's concerns about Meredith. There was no internet then, and I had no idea that such vague things were unrealistic causes for the split, but that's how it was explained. (I realize that nowadays it's more well-known that DID is usually-but-not-always caused by childhood sexual abuse, and not lesser worries.) The main thing was that Viki wanted Joe and Niki wanted Vinny (Vince). Then Vince eventually learned that Niki was an alter and not her true self. Victoria went through therapy and merged with her only alter Niki Smith, and that was it. Once in a blue moon, after extreme stress, Niki would pop out but it was rare and it eventually stopped. Anyhow, back to my point, I saw Dorian kill Victor Lord, Sr. live on TV. We the viewers saw this. It might have been Dorian withholding medical care, but it amounted to intentional homicide. Victor Lord, Sr. was an arrogant controlling man but I didn't perceive of him as capable of being a child abuser. He was very high society. And after he died, we the live viewers learned that he had long ago had sex with a young woman or teen friend of Victoria's, hence the conception of Tina. That was a bit startling but believable. Tina was such a dynamic character. I didn't watch the soaps for many years, and was stunned to later learn that OLTL had retconned everything -- so that Victor Lord had sexually abused Victoria, that she now had many alters, and that Victoria had killed her father. I didn't have TV when I learned this was happening on OLTL, so I didn't see any of that storyline, but I was stunned to hear of it. That huge retcon contradicted what I'd seen Dorian do on live TV. Check on needs for your current health/immunocompromised status. Check on the needs of your older relatives and friends. And the needs of any children and teens in your life. Check on tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis aka whooping cough, measles, rubella, mumps, varicella aka chickenpox, shingles, covid, influenza, RSV, pneumococcal, HPV, hepatitis, meningitis, polio. Also possibly per situation/location: dengue fever, mpox. If you are contemplating travel in the future, even if you're unsure, get whatever vaccines you might need for travel, if you can. Hey, if we can save even one life by spreading the word, I think it's worth posting this. I was a tween and my older sister was a young adult. In summer 1969, we had begun watching OLTL and GH together. So guess I began watching OLTL when it was 11 months old. I remember watching All My Children from near its January 1970 beginning, but I was in school and there was no way to record a show. I think I watched every AMC episode the summer of 1970. So I guess you could say that's the last time I saw a soap from near its beginning, from when AMC was six months old.
