  1. Post-Hulu and pre-#MeToo, I always said that in theory I wouldn't have an issue with Todd and/or Blair coming in and out of the show either solo or as a package to mix things up and make trouble like Skye's later short-term stints, or when GH brought Marco Dane on in the early '90s. I thought that kind of short crossover for troublemaking characters was worthwhile and I thought Todd functioned well on GH as the local muckraker and shít-stirrer. But I also always said that in order to even begin to consider bringing OLTL characters back GH would have to have reestablished a firm foundation again without a bunch of OLTL or other soaps' characters/castoffs still on the show dominating airtime. That was ten years ago and it hasn't happened yet, and bringing OLTL characters on for real stints would only pull more focus. Plus #MeToo has since rendered Todd radioactive and unusable. And while I don't mind when Nora or Jack Montgomery or whoever appear briefly, it really doesn't help GH. Nora and Blair were both favorites of mine, but how does it service GH? It doesn't, it's just Frank unable to let go.
  2. Blair had a cosmetics/jewelry company of her own back in the day, Melador. It's conceivable it could be a rival to Deception, she ran it during Lucy's Deception heyday.
  3. I have a sinking feeling Blair will turn out to be MEK's secret ex-wife or whatever. Which, okay, but why? I am sure they will do a dumb scene with Roger, since they keep bringing Patrick Gibbons/Sam Manning (who bless him, cannot act) back for him too. I will be more amazed if they indicate any respect for post-FV/RC OLTL continuity. Granted the Hulu revival was relatively obscure and short-lived, I wouldn't lean heavily on it for story, but the show going on without Frank and Ron was very personal and bitter for them at the time, and it showed onscreen in the 'dueling Pickle Lilas' storyline on GH.
  4. I mean, I'll be glad to see Blair but this isn't what GH needs. I assume Frank will ignore any trace of OLTL 2.0 continuity.
  5. Thank goodness scammer Yashar came back from his self-imposed exile to attach himself remora-like to more easy causes (fighting Scientology) and public shaming Betty White from beyond the grave. Anyway, Arleen Sorkin has a massive pop culture footprint for Harley Quinn alone, as annoying as I find the modern iteration of the character. But her work in the '90s, just amazing - and her Days run is legend, even as I've seen so little of it.
  6. I just jumped back into both Dallas and Knots too. What a legend. Bob Barker, Jacobs, a slew of 'em lately - and too many of daytime's own. It'll just get harder.
  7. If they had the majority of the public (or the press, beyond some of the trades and some particularly embarrassing flacks like Sharon Waxman who put her foot in it the other day) they wouldn't be hiring a crisis firm.
  8. A big deal.
  9. She also got annoyed when she was regularly roasted for being obsessed with it - I remember her trying it on one more time last election and snippily noting that people would get on her for it again.
  10. Unsurprising and important.
  11. My mistake! I saw something else saying she was back and I didn't even look close enough, it was a long day. I had no idea Shipp was on Days. I like her even though some people love to roast her.
  12. The compromise is starting from the preexisting poverty of writers and performers in this industry already, including those not covered by the Guilds.
  13. It's such an odd role, this art thief?/crime boss or whatever. Frank clearly keeps it coming back because of their friendship and her OLTL stardom. To hear tell he's bringing back Patrick Gibbons (little Sam Manning) as that Boy Scout character for the umpteenth time and yet more scenes with Roger Howarth when Gibbons, bless him, was adorable as a tot but is not much of an actor as a teen is a whole other can of worms.
  14. What a legacy. And he clearly adored Knots most of all. RIP.
  15. I don't think she sounded off last time for Epiphany's memorial, but I haven't heard this one. I do think it's awful she can't come in, and I do fear the worst.
  16. Jessica Tuck (Megan, OLTL/Cassandra Pierce, GH) talks her latest return to GH. Also discusses some OLTL BTS history.
  17. Ronan Farrow strikes again, @DramatistDreamer @DRW50 As always, use archive.is to bypass the paywall if you encounter one.
  18. Martha has never been cut out for lead and there's a lot of people who just like how friendly she is with the fans and never wanted to hear it or admit it. She's a nice person, she's a reasonable actress and I feel awful for what she may have endured at the show. But she does look matronly, her performances are bland and she was never lead material on any soap. Both MM and BB had real heat with other people - JKJ and Nadia Bjorlin, in the late Sheffer era. That was their last shot at being leads. The show abandoned it and abandoned both characters as leads from then on, because with marginal actors like Madison and Beemer Shawn and Belle are B-players at best.
  19. Somehow I think Bacon's career is intact.
  20. It is, Laughlin is definitely not in that group shot. That's Gillian Spencer and Lynn Benesch next to Agnes.
