That's what I took from it, too. But then the show copped out by having the baby killed instead of showing the consequences and sacrifices of an unwed teenage mother. Erin Torpey (Jessica) and Jason-Shane Scott (Will) did a good job; I would have liked to see their baby story play out in a better way.

According to her wikipedia page (take it with a grain of salt), Katherine Glass left OLTL in 1978 just as it was expanding to an hour, and felt that The Doctors, at half an hour, would give her more time to spend with her husband and newly adopted baby.

From all the interviews I've read with her, Gina Gallego seems like such a sweetheart, but I never cared for her version of Santana - way too whiny, clingy and sniveling to me. Ava Lazar's take had fire, backbone and sass. It would have been great to see her and Marcy Walker's Eden butting heads.

Per imdb, the actress is Kathleen King, who was on DAYS from 1981-83.

In the 1981 cast photo from the book Soap World, Charles Bateman is in the cast photo, along with the man who would replace him as SB's CC Capwell, Jed Allan. I guess that's where they met, because according to some other soap book I read, the two men were golf buddies at the time SB began, or at least when CB began on that show.

I would love to know whatever happened to Stacey Baldwin, who originated the role of Laura Vining (as the character was then known). She leaves, and then the next girl to play the part goes on to megastardom. I was just always curious about the whole thing, though honestly, I cannot imagine anyone else as Laura but Genie Francis.

The Hallmark Channel has the rights to The Doctors episodes (have no idea what year the episodes start), but have sat on them for years. Boo hiss!!!!

Billy was on a GMA interview a couple of years ago for a reunion of the cast of Mystic Pizza (yes, Julia was there, too), and he looks almost exactly the same.

It makes sense to me that Jack would be that way after losing Mary. After treating her the way he did in the early days, I'm sure he must have had plenty of regrets not only that he didn't have more time with her, but that he didn't treat her better when he did. It also makes sense why he waited so long to marry again. By the time he was ready to settle down with Leigh, he had learned his lessons and was able to treat her with the love and respect she deserved.

He looked a lot better then than he does now, having seemingly caved to the botox and lifts and all that. Scary. Maybe it's because I have always had a thing for good-looking blond guys - IMHO the real hunk of the show was Billy Moses.
