  1. Getting back to Denise Alexander's Lesley in her early days on the show, I would have loved to see her and Judy Lewis (Barbara Vining, Laura's "other mother", and Amy's mother) interact. At that point, Judy Lewis was best known for her stint as the definitive Susan Ames on The Secret Storm (and in real life, being the daughter of Loretta Young and Clark Gable) - then went behind the scenes to produce Texas and later to become a writer on Search For Tomorrow. Then she left show biz, went to college and got her degree, and became a licensed family therapist before her passing in late 2011.
  2. Is it true that Lesley didn't really become an interesting character until Laura came along?
  3. Those are very stunning photos of Eileen!!!!
  4. Did she fill in when Elizabeth Hubbard had her son in real life?
  5. I love the photo of the Buas, especially Toni's aviator glasses which were all the rage at the time. I wonder how she is doing since Gene passed a couple of years ago.
  6. What a great cover photo - and an interesting article. Too bad they won't give Denise Alexander anything to do today.
  7. I know - heartless is the only word I can think of. Well, I can think of more, but since this is a family board, I'll leave it at heartless.
  8. Elissa didn't say, but she also had very nice things to say about Vicky Wyndham, Nancy Addison and Caroline McWilliams - called them all sweethearts and that they were great to work with. As a child actress, working with the likes of the aforementioned women as well as Charita Bauer, Millette Alexander and Fran Myers, many of whom were on the show for many years - what role models to have!!
  9. Thanks for that article - not knowing much about LOL, it was a fun read. Joan Bassie is Jennifer Bassey, who went on to become AMC's Marian, right?
  10. Great article. She's another one who went too young.
  11. I don't know, but we'll be getting another treat for the season finale to air May 21. MUNCH!!!!! http://allthingslawandorder.blogspot.com/2014/05/law-order-svu-spring-awakening-episode.html
  12. I don't know why they never brought Hope back. If they had, at least Elvera Roussel and Rick Hearst are about 17 years apart in age, so it would be a believable age gap. Elissa Leeds is only about 6 years older than Rick Hearst, and Robin Mattson is about 9 years older.
  13. When David was SORASed in 1975, I'm not sure if she was HW or if Bill Bell still was (while he was writing his own show Y&R at the same time). Susan Hayes' mom, Elizabeth Harrower, was HW from 1979-1980 which is indeed when Brenda Benet as Lee came on.
  14. I want to know who the genius was who decided that David Banning should be SORASed and cast with actors who looked (and probably were) about two years younger than Susan Hayes. Then to make Julie a grandmother when she was like 35. After all she did for the show, that had to be a big slap in the face. I hope her mother wasn't the one who wrote that plot. Or was she the one who wrote the story which introduced Lee Carmichael (Brenda Benet) and had her trying to steal Doug away from Julie?
  15. I think Rena Sofer was the one who said it best: "The Quartermaines put the 'fun' in dysfunctional." Even though my family is nowhere near as dysfunctional (or wealthy!!) as the Qs, we certainly have had our moments!! LOL
  16. Woody Allen's Play It Again, Sam - right?
  17. Yeah, I was guessing those roles were written and cast before they got the cancellation notice.
  18. I am FB friends with Elissa Leeds Elkin, who played preteen Hope Bauer. She said that even though she was the only kid on the set, she was treated wonderfully. Elissa said that the castmate she was closest to was Fran Myers, and that she loved Charita Bauer very much. She was also close to her on-screen stepmother, Lynne Adams.
  19. Do you think Wendy Riche did? Obviously, the writers did, giving the Qs lots of snarky dialogue.
  20. Thanks for posting that. Even though I know his work on DAYS preceded his work on the Star Trek series, no matter what I always see him in, he'll always be Q to me.
  21. That is a great site. The webmaster obviously put a lot of work and heart into it.
  22. I know that not long ago, Matt Crane also worked on Martha Byrne's web soap, Gotham. Last I heard, Matt, Robin and their kids are living in PA. I wonder if his TV mom inspired him to go into sculpture. Other than her guest spot on SVU a few years back, I think Vicky Wyndham is basically done with acting. Haven't seen or heard of her being in anything else since. For those wanting to know what Linda Dano is up to these days, here is her official website: http://www.lindadano.com/index.php. Nadine Stenovitch and John Littlefield, the final Josie and Gary Sinclair, met on AW and eventually fell in love. They are married and living in CA. He worked on Extreme Makeover. That's about all I know.
