As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Part if the reason why I'd love to see Larry Bryggman, Liz Hubbard, and Eileen Fulton again is that I know those folks give little f.ucks and will be honest as hell on how they feel. And you know what, they've all earned that right in one way or another. It's sad that none of them will likely participate in something like this.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
Honestly, Maureen is the only one I care about. Kim and Robert were on The Talk a few years back for that CBS Daytime reunion thing they did, and while Liz Keifer has always seemed like a nice woman, my Blake is Sherry Springfield. Pleasantly surprised by Maureen though. She's usually a very private person, so it's quite a treat.

The fact it lasted as long as it did probably spoke a lot about the clout Agnes had at ABC at the time. ABC certainly had a lot of faith to keep in as long as they did with ratings never really moving substantially. Hell, they put the final nail in Ryan's Hope (which they owned outright at that point) coffin by switching its time-slot just to appease Agnes as well. It was definitely majorly ignored by the soap press (for the most part) and by the viewing audience for it's entire run. Had this been the late 90's and certainly today, no soap would last as long with those conditions.

Ha, that was me, but I’m sure others felt that way too. I know Agnes wanted her soaps to be based in close proximity to one another, but Corinth always felt like it should have been a sleepy New England town vs. being sandwiched between Pine Valley and Llandview somewhere in Pennsylvania to me.

Y&R to air classic episodes
P&G’s focus is on consumer packaged goods - that’s their business. Distributing their soap opera library no longer services that core business, so it’s not on their radar or priority list. As a soap fan it sucks, but I totally understand that these shows were never meant to be a core part but of their business operations. They were created to service their core business but obviously can’t anymore and didn’t do that very well by the 2000’s. At the same time, they’re not selling that library of content to anyone else, but, that assumes anyone has even even tried to buy it from them in recent years. It’s not like P&G is totally against selling off parts of their business. They’ve divested a lot over the past decade - namely selling huge chunks of their beauty business to Coty Inc.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
I got around to watching Judith Light’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony last night. She received her Star in September of last year. Anyway, Brynn Thayer was in attendance and Judith called her a sister in real life as well. I know they’ve remained close since their time on OLTL, but it was a sweet moment. Karen is one of those characters I’m glad never returned. She’ll always be remembered for her one epic stint (even though Light didn’t originate the role) that was never tarnished by a crappy return or bad recast after her original run.

Whitney Houston dead at 48!
Yes, not to mention her relationship with Cissy was never as strong as they wanted us to believe...

Britney Spears Thread
That's what I was saying - why would she rush to to resurrect her career if she has little control over it anyway? One of the reasons her spark may be gone is because she's not in control of anything in her life or career.

Britney Spears Thread
She's very much dependent on the team around her as she's never really been in control of her career (or life sadly). After being treated as commodity by both the business and her own family for so long, it's no wonder she's not rushing to resurrect her career.

Beyonce pivoted into being an albums artist vs. a singles artist. She's what Madonna became in the 90's after her singles domination in the 80's.
