I really liked yesterday's episode. I felt there were so many layers going on with all the characters and storylines that it was just such a feast for the eyes. And I liked that while Dani was in the episode, it felt like she was the C plot to the B plot and other C plots being the focus. I like that we are continuing to get some to see conflict with our gay couple. But lord, Martin is a complete and utter a$$hat. With that said, I just found it interesting how entitled and selfish he came across and the same could be said about Kat...though she's totally right about Eva. One can't help but side-eye Nicole a little bit who doesn't seem that way. Nor does Ted. Commentary on how when your black family make it easier on the next generation, the next generation is ungrateful. Time will tell. In any case, I loved that Smitty stood up for himself. As someone who have seen gay couples like that in the South (just flip the races), it resonated with me. I continued to like the Kat stuff. I did love that Chelesa called her out on how she acts with other people, going back to what I said about coming across entitled. I mean girl came for Eva's clothes on sight. And now she has walked in on Eva in the wrong place, wrong time. Add on her coming for Eva earlier in the episode, Kat vs Eva is giving for me. Now about Dani vs Hayley...lol. That also gave. Dani read her good and KM played that to the hilt while being softer. Because 'woman to woman, i'll settle for you' oooo that was soooo nice nasty good and well performed. And look at them starting to have more and more in common, too. Bill wants Hayley to immediately stop working...just like DANI. The ladies come to a truce. And who wants to keep it going...BILL at the end of the episode. Why? He can't let go. I loved M. Goins has been adding grit and backbone to Hayley's character since Monday making the character more of a inner strength (not weak either) character when people come for her. Then Andre/Dani...mmmmm. I love how unexpected that ending was. It seem like Dani was not even going to sleep with him again. And both of them went off to their own storylines during the episode. Only...to come back together at the end. Loved it. Nice cliffhangers at the end, too. Kat caught Eva. Bill is planning something. Chelesa getting it on with a couple while her mother is getting it on on some glass...good times. I would say since Monday, but it does seem to be heading that way. Yeah, I was happy for him and to see conflict for our gay couple. I was talking about Nosy Nurse. My favorite side character so far. And also was talking about how Andre is so into Dani that it's nice to see.

I know we are all on Brandon Clayborn's case, but THAT GUY....no, ma'am. Well two entitled if you count Kat. I find it interesting since Nicole herself does not come across entitled. Now you leave him and Victor Webster alone. 😜 You don't have to see it. More for me. 😜 They really can't. God bless them for that because they are hot.

Dani vs Hayley is also giving now that Hayley is showing that grit and backbone. Now...let's see if her and Bill CAN stay away from her. It goes without saying that I love that Uptown set. Get him, Smitty!! Same. I think she is my favorite side character for sure. IKR. I love how much he is into her.

Well look at all those bubbles walking around on my screen. 😜 I had hoped that looking at synopsis for this new week's schedule that it felt like this week would be more centered on Nicole and the B plot of Silk Press Sheila and Eva. So I was happy with yesterday's episode. Dani definitely needed a break from driving plot. And such a plausible excuse for her absence. It allowed the spotlight to shift to Nicole. And as my favorite character, I enjoyed everything I saw. Her with her FOINE a$$ man and how much of a couple they are. Exploring the dynamic between her and Kat...loooong overdue. She even got some good scenes with Smitty which allowed to flesh out him and Martin. Kat v Eva was THE highlight for me. And love how so many people here and online have mentioned how Kat seem Blair Waldorf/Hillary Banks coded. Cuz I have been living for her outfits. But this episode allowed to see more of her and her layers. She's been focused, but sweet. So seeing her claws come out a bit and suspicious of Eva has given her more to do. And Eva held her own. And if Ted IS the father, a sister feud is already on. And as I mentioned yesterday, yes to Martin and Smitty being flirty and showing some hint of chemistry and dare I say it...love? It was nice to see their storyline fleshed out a little more. Martin is just coming across as a little too full of himself. Interestingly enough...not unlike his sister Kat. I do wonder if Martin is going to sabotage any attempt of Smitty to branch out. And we also have the issue of the dreams for them. But yay for conflict coming. Oops. Not Silk Press Sheila maybe having a new problem to deal with in terms of potential cameras! Lol. I'm sure she got this. And oops again at Eva calling her out. So Silk Press really didn't tell Eva she was the one to run Laura off the road. So...potential for Eva to be redeemed once the truth comes out? And I hollered at Silk Press gaslighting Eva. She is next level...and I love it!!! And you know what I also loved? DIEGO. From that head to that bod to what was in those sweats. If we are going to have a himbo...he can be mine. lol. Meanwhile, it was nice to get a little more into what makes Vanessa tick since she's the early fave of the non-black characters. It seem like she would like her marriage to work, but Doug is hiding too much. So...she's looking elsewhere to feel special. And poor Doug...with a gambling issue. And as a doctor that's just trouble. 'Lady Karma is patient.' really stood out. Outside of the beginning, I really love the dialogue. And the episode really flowed for it to be just the B and C plots taking A plot's position. Special mention to seeing more of Jacob's life as well. More please.

I agree. Just spinning those wheels when they could had had a Carly/Brennan/Anna triangle right there, but that idea became DOA when the writing that made it a possibility (aka writing with nuances) left the building. I admit that I still had a little bit of hope due to the actors' chemistry, but now that things are truly back to 'factory settings...'a total time waster now. That also makes me think that Lucas/Brad are about to join Terry/Yuri on the backburner or wherever they are at.

2025: The Directors and Writers Thread
Speak on it! I had completely forgotten about him on staff and was looking forward to his first script since the videos posting in the BTG Thread about working as a writer in L. A. Just done rewatching and I loved it. It flowed perfectly for me and yes, his dialogue worked for me. A very good example for letting young talent into the writing house.
