They both felt like a dash of the old school Y&R. And I'm sure a lot of old school Y&R fans would love Friday's episode. I know!!! It was the first time I've seen those so I enjoyed them so much. Cool that one scene was all in one scene. I still worked during Lockdown so I missed out on the majority of Y&R classic episodes so that is good to know. Y&R had a style like no other and those scenes are good examples of why people were drawn in. The acting. The style. The music. The direction. Brought all together it gives a beautiful picture. OMG! Yes. The glowup. EB has a presence in all the flashbacks, but those from that time. Just...Mmm. There's a strong vibe that 'hey, Nikki! I get it!'

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHOP Another good episode with a nice cap to the cast trip which yeeeah I admit would have worn out its welcome if it went beyond this episode. That said...I see you, Gizelle. lol. She made it back with the quickness. And it's interesting that once Gizelle got back, there was barely any talk about La Dame. Though Gizelle played it sly by bringing her and Jacqueline up barely before she deflected all things La Dame onto Keiarna. The good news...Keiarna handled that like a boss. Round 2 of Mia vs Keiarna was giving me life and Keiarna ate Mia up this time. We even got a brief Round 3 of Mia vs Keiarna at Wendy's official birthday dinner, and Kiearna won that in the end, too. I didn't even realize actually how shady Keiarna really was to Mia until I got online later (see what I mean below. ), but she gave. Meanwhile, Stacey got a little bit shady, too. First, her concern for La Dame over the DUI. Though I believe that was more out of genuine concern. And then later on, Stacey threw Jassi under the bus. And that whole timeline with Jassi and her man 'who never been in a serious relationship' was giving Shady Phae Phae's baby lie a la her first season RHOA. Cuz...uhhh. Gizelle kept it moving. Right on out of the episode. So well-played, La Dame. Gizelle did you a solid. LA DAME. Hehe...the fact that she made it out of this cast trip unscarred. LOL. Meanwhile, there was La Dame using every opportunity to take potshots at Mia. Mia did start this so La Dame is definitely on the warpath heading to Potomac. GIZELLE. Asking all the important questions AND still being likeable doing it. I can't believe she is reallly turning a corner. Even her little speech for Wendy at Wendy's birthday dinner. That does not stop her from pot stirring though. Cuz she kept that focus on Mia vs Keiarna as much as possible. Okay, she actually was aiming for Keiarna vs Ashley by Jassi's tea. But aiming Keiarna at Mia was a bonus. I've been saying and will continue to say...Gizelle is aiming at Mia for the reunion chair slight. So she will do anything to bring her down. And I loved her putting the screws to Stacey because we all have questions about her and TJ. Cuz...who doesn't test drive the car before we buy it? ASHLEY. Sorry @Gray Bunny...your girl ain't got nothing left to give. She could be focusing on life after the divorce...or SHOWING the divorce. She could be showing her business line with Gizelle. Instead...we get her left field decision to work on her music career. And POST-Candiace, too? GIRL, BYE. Outside of that, this episode was just more of everyone ignoring her presence...most clear when everyone was at the swimming pool having a kiki. Every time a new girl popped into scene, they fit perfectly. Meanwhile...Ashley..was just...there. Too bad so sad. WENDY. As someone who did his 40th milestone in San Fran and was out every night that week, the next day look/slump on Wendy at the table...was accurate. lol!!! I didn't at all like how Mia tried to make this birthday trip about her. I wasn't there for Jacqueline trying to have a moment at the birthday dinner. I WAS there for everyone having a little speech for Wendy. I was there for Wendy in the white. And we know I was there for Wendy being THAT drunk. Gizelle's speech is still shocking to me and that 'it's grown stale' and Karen's 'oh' still takes me out. I was awww at Eddie sending her a birthday gift. And I hollered at her saying Mia clap ass for forgiveness...cuz accurate. MIA. I swear to God we about to fall out with each other like Fabulous Ice and I did!!! Smh. I know Mia Be Lying, but this was a little too much. The visit to the Joint...back when she was CEO. Allegedly. She still has 22 stores. Allegedly. She even lied about the fact that she and Jacqueline had indeed had sex...something we all suspected since Season 7. Because how Jacqueline does act is very...jealous ex at times. So...is she still doing her, too? JS. Meanwhile, her growing feud with Keiarna IS giving. And while last week she got good licks in, this week...hmmm...perhaps. Round 3 and the potential that she and Keiarna might have been with the same NFL player? Hmmm. And even that...when would Mia had had the time with Inc and being married to G and rolling around with Jacqueline her representative?? And if it ain't Keiarna eating her up, it's La Dame...who is now spilling all her secrets since Mia wants to sit there and do the same. Which IFY...Mia and the addiction is true. While I believe she did mention it briefly in Season 6, if you need confirmation...she said it on a news show (link is floating around rn) circa 2006 (?) so it IS out there so no lies from La Dame. Meanwhile no one has proven Blue Eyes. Yet. JS. STACEY. I stayed around to watch WWHL a little bit since she was on there with THE Countess LuAnn...and LuAnn had me hollering at asking the same thing I asked...you're not going to test drive the car before you drive? I Love LuAnn. That said...have I said how much I love Stacey and her quirkiness? Just look at her...dancing this episode. lol. Meanwhile, her and her relationship with TJ continue to be the storyline as Gizelle started in with some questions. But I do believe that Stacey was slowly starting to set Jassi up throughout the episode for the moment when she threw her under the bus over the timeline of Jassi's relationship with her man. Stacey showed her ability to be nice nasty with her shade in her introduction scene so is she only playing quirky and there's a little bit of shady shade in her? I guess we will see. KEIARNA. MVP again. She has Ashley scared of her for Ashley to very quickly say she had already apologized as soon as Gizelle tried to stir the pot. Then I enjoyed her bouts with Messy Mia. Mia Be Trying, but Keiarna whacked her every time. 'cuz okay selling ass is fine' was a gag. And when she said...'okay. what's my current man doing? look at that security. while you're posting on the corner.' As posted above...the gag...Keiarna's man has money. Inc...only has a radio show and the tagline? 'posting on the corner.' Had Mia gagged with that sly shade. So...check that. Keiarna really do be standing on business. And next week and the teaser above says we got a lot of stuff coming. So yay!!!

Y&R: November 2024 Discussion Board
11-8 Thursday and Friday were easily the highlights of a pretty good week. Where do I even begin with this episode though? My easy favorite...Nikki in the foreground with Victor blurred in the background...a quisessential Y&R camera angle if ever I've seen one. With a slow (not quick cut) fade into a flashback. OMG!!! YES!! Old style Y&R is back. The introduction of the new/old ranch set. Other than one camera blubber...cuz I could have sworn in the original scene the table set was in the background, not the piano...it was perfection. And omg the space!!! It was superb. With that little hallway with the doorway...itching to make me go and explore it so I love Adam doing just that in the background. lol. The pictures!! The windows and the angles!!! The staircase cuz you know I love stairs!!! It looked so beautiful, and brighter, but yet richer. I am looking forward to seeing so much of this set and how the camera angles will be on it. And then the flashbacks!!!! I was just a babe when Victor and Nikki started so I loved them. Their vibe. Their easy chemistry. How sophisticated they looked, and their words were. And yes...all those Nikki hairstyles...lol. You could see how much history their house had. And those old Y&R cues...Mmmmm. My heart! And speaking of my heart...yes, the Victor during Nikki's pixie cut era could still get it. Just WOOF!! And speaking of EB, I had never seen that one flashback of him by the fireplace...just WOW. The vulnerability of Victor Newman on display. Kind Victor yes. Big Boss Victor yes. But vulnerable where you see the essence of him...back to little boy Christian who had no one and was scared to show weakness NEVER. EB nailed that scene with that tremble in his voice because he didn't want Nikki to see him that way. That whole scene...just wow. And then the other flashback where Nikki refused to take Baby Victoria and leave the house. And I had seen parts of the Victor destroying the liquor bottles flashback, but I guess I had never seen it in full because EB was bringing the intensity, and you could see/feel the hurt while MTS brought the dramatic cry. Just so many great flashbacks that showed not only their relationship, but the history of the house. I admit to being a little worried about the episode being centered on the ranch, so good to see Victor involved his children in the reveal. And also revealing that would be the setting for Abby's wedding. That immediately has my mind thinking about how direction is going to go and camera angles and I'm super excited. And then to see Victor and Devon talk. One thing I do like about Abby/Devon together is that it reintroduced the Victor/Devon friendship which is one of my early memories of watching the show more frequently. Can we do the Chancellor Mansion next? For too long it has been too small. And if this remodel is a sign of things to come and excellent use of space, I'm sure wonders will be done if that was next. And NEXT WEEK...I'M GETTING MY WISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND...JILL WITH THAT HAIR!!! YES, PLEASE.

True that. lol. That said...thank you for this. My mind has been idling back to that part of the industry as of late so it's nice to hear a fresh perspective. You would be correct. JS. But on to other cute things...how can I not think that was soooo cute. I was also just thinking of black sitcoms the other day as well. But let me not derail the thread. Honestly, I would love that.

11-7 That was great from start to finish. So not only did I get a Diane vs Nikki catfight, but they both looked FIERCE giving it to each other? YES, PLEASE. lol. The dialogue was crisp...cuz nobody says NIKKI with such spite like Diane does. The acting was giving...cuz SW was in her AD Diane bag. And then she did that again in her scenes with Victor, too. But then the reveal...ooooo I WAS RIGHT!!! I suspected it for a while. But I really suspected it when Diane stormed after Nikki and caused a scene noticeably in front of Victor and Kyle. So...Diane has been plotting. But with who? Meanwhile...I loved the Summer/Chance scenes. Those were some meaty scenes for him. And I know I say it often, but god, Connor Floyd is a hot man. And those eyes...just swoon. I do wonder if this friction between them...plus how much disdain Summer has for Kyle/Claire...is leading into that long ignored possibility of a Kyle/Summer/Chance triangle. Victor be Victor-ing. lol. Who did Kyle think he was talking to? BOY, BYE. And good to see that Nikki finally knows he's the silent partner. And of course, that ending...like I said the other day...OMG. I got completely in my feels.

Actually yes. And have for SOME of these. lol. Business Story...regardless of him being tired of it, the original IPO takedown story that brought Tucker back into town and the introduction of Audra was fascinating to watch. Those were good plot points, but for me, the draw was how it gave the Winters a story of their own that gave the family fraction. For one, no matter how much Devon and Nate said otherwise...the drama (Nate saying Devon doesn't listen to his ideas, Devon saying Nate is too new to be making bold moves) was the subtext...Devon was still mad at Nate over Elena, Nate was still mad at Devon for the loss of his hands/medical career. And through everything that happened, both actors kept playing that subtext which gave their conflict layers. Then Devon vs Lily followed ,and you had the spectre of Neil all over their drama since we the audience watched them grow up together with very little drama between them, so it was hard (but resonating) to watch. The only false note in the whole thing was Nate's reveal really...over the love for Elena...only for her to drop her...what a month later to have an affair with Victoria. The fact Nate and Devon haven't really gotten back in sync until the year because both actors still play that subtext post-IPO until they FINALLY said all that on screen a few years back gave them legs for some time there. Heck, Lily and Devon still have occasional friction. Love story...Daniel and Lily finding their way back to each other. The actors haven't been paired since they were kids and back when the show was great so that was an good pairing for JG to go back to. And it was done gradually. I did hate how it ended mind you, but the start of it...and the re-intro of Heather for a potential triangle...was done well...until JG of course dropped the ball when CK went on her maternity leave.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I still want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but once I heard actor on DAYS OF OUR LIVES even I kinda gave a look. Then I stayed around to watch some of WWHL with my Countess LuAnn and saw that shirt. I hate to be that person, but SOME heterosexual man have been known to wear that shirt so all I could do was sip my wine as people judged the shirt online. JS>

Old school story tropes (with excellent acting) will get audiences every time. And we know EB and MTS has that IT factor in spades.

OMG! I knew it was coming, but I did keep myself unspoil on how the new ranch set would look. Like MTS, I'm teary-eyed. And since I saw your note @soapfan770...Aha!! It's a good feeling to be right. re: Diane. Getting ready for work so will be back with more later on.

B&B: November 2024 Discussion Thread
11-5 Well, the week is off to a good start. Even if it is background music. The gradual reveal that Steffy fired Hope has been nice to watch. But I can't help, but feel that Steffy is light shading Ridge since she (and Taylee) know how he ain't nothing, but a flip-flopper. lol. I definitely have been enjoying seeing so much Carter though I don't think he should be so hellbent when he and Hope haven't even slept together yet. And yay! Will! I didn't mind him with Electra. Though I do hope Amy makes it into the mix. And oooo at these scenes with Katie. She was giving me my old school Victoria Newman. And that I will never hate on. And we know JMW gives good bitca. So I enjoyed them catfighting. I also enjoy how Katie paid Taylee so much dust.

11-6 Oh...THAT is the cgi you all were talking about. Ugh. They were better off doing it inside of a church setting. which they could have kept all of that setting they had on display. It was so distracting. And that? Was tragic. Because it was a pretty good episode. I was sorry that MS was going back to NOT being subtle. But MG though...mmmm tore me up. I'm surprised they allowed Sharon to go at all. And thankfully, anything major that would mess with Faith's wellbeing...like lashing out at her mother...was kept to a minimum. And at least Paul was mentioned. I even thought it was a decent amount of a crowd. And then the end with Phyllis trying to beg Sharon to confess...was decent. As was Phyllis with the white flower.
