I just want Hope and Liam on the backburn now. I don't want to see them. Brooke looked absurd. Like a frog that came out of a swamp. That dress didn't suit her at all. Looked very cheap like she bought it on the street somewhere. Sheila vs Taylor has potential. The last 2 episodes are a solid 3/10.

Up to January 21st, 1993 🦩 "College guys from HELL." 🔷 After Cassie's wedding, Marty Saybrooke decided to drown her sorrows in cheap alcohol. She stumbled into the group of worthless college guys hanging around the roadhouse dump. One thing led to another, and she ended up in bed with Todd. After having sex, he had the audacity to say, "you delivered," as if she were some sort of hooker. Marty wanted his company, her longing for human connection and warmth was palpable. But he was as warm as Ted Bundy on a Friday night. He responded with something condescending like, "Go... comb your hair..." and just walked out. What a narcissist! Marty lost it again, angrily combing her hair and smashing her reflection in the mirror! Oh boy, this is not going to end well, I can already tell. 🔷 Talking about those college jerks... they put drugs in Jason's pocket!!!!!! Up until now, Marty was the only troublemaker engaging in these petty, disgusting, sociopathic acts, but I think these idiots have taken it a step further. And this happens just as Leanne is getting a second chance with her baby. With Jason getting busted for drugs... Leanne's life is about to spiral into chaos again. But let's backtrack a bit - how did Leanne even get that second chance? Well, Rachel made Kevin do it. She'll regret this, I'm sure, because you should never help people like Leanne - they'll always bite the hand that feeds them. 🔷 Talking about Rachel... she's more and more center stage each day... and her story... becoming increasingly interesting. The moment with Nora, when she shared about sleeping with Kevin and how she was a virgin before that... made me tear up for some freaking reason. I believe it was Nora who got to me. The actress is truly exceptional. If I had to list the characters I care about most in this show - Rachel takes the top spot. I see her as a blank canvas, and the writers can shape her however they please - the possibilities are endless. I HOPE TO GOD they don't ruin her or forget about her with time. 🔷 The drama between Blair and Asa continued with Asa flipping the script on Blair. He discovered the spy-maid and paid her off. Then, he trapped Blair and essentially abused her. I really dislike how they're portraying Asa as a monster. Sure, Blair did leave him to die... and she's far from a Saint... that's a fact... but we don't need to witness him choking her repeatedly. It makes me root for Blair, which is likely the intention of the writing. Still... this monster vs monster storyline is becoming a bit over the top and makes both character look like idiots. I am still sticking to my opinion that Asa would have long changed the locks and refused to even let her in. He should not be even speaking to her after what she did... instead they have them yell at each other and him choking her. Is this some kind of telenovela? I don't like it. 🔷 But even more important detail... connected with Blair now being portrayed as a victim... is how Max is behaving around her. Three weeks after New Year's, when he dismissed her like a dog... now he's having second thoughts. He's even resting his hand on her waist and avoiding Luna, who is increasingly disturbed by it. The worst part is... Luna... noticed that Max is getting soft for Blair again, and she did the most ABSURD, pathetic and disappointing thing I've ever witnessed from her - she decided to finally give him SEX without waiting like they planned, just to keep him from going to Blair. They got interrupted, but it was still such a letdown. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, LUNA? WHO HAVE YOU BECOME? Have you turned into Tina?!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. Overall - 6.5/10 - There was a tone of extreme nastiness in these two episodes. Everyone with few exceptions was wretched. I was overwhelmed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clip of the day Asa vs Blair

Yes, I didn't ever remember how polished it was... and sounds so good too. The composer of the entire show is this very famous Turkish musician Kirac. I love good background music and this show benefits from it so much. That would be great, indeed! And so much material can come of it. Years and years of material and storylines. And I agree, it's more common than people think. So many try to erase their roots, cutting ties with old friends and family once they become rich or famous... or are on their way up. I've seen it so many times. And there's that certain type that acts like they were raised in the Queen's palace and makes condescending looks of the way others eat, drink... dress... but if you look into it... they were definitely not born in a palace. Had a friend like that... married such a pig of a man in the end and I'm still shocked how her high and mighty attitude managed to end with a man like that. But then... I'm not shocked either. The show was a massive hit, a sensation, really... the first Turkish series in Bulgaria. Nobody knew what to expect, but after the first 1 or 2 episodes, half the country was hooked. A month later, even grandpas who never watched stuff like that were tuning in. It broke all records for viewership. I think only The Bold And The Beautiful when it was premiering in the early 90s... was at that level of public engagement. I have this funny memory from when the show was it's peak popularity - I was at this fast food place, and the girl making my sandwich was totally distracted by the TV above, staring at 1001 Nights during a dramatic moment. I told her, "Take your time! Watch if you want! I’ll join you!" We laughed, and I’ll never forget how that show had everyone so obsessed they couldn’t even work while it was on. She took like 10 minutes to finish making that sandwich, because we were watching the show. Aaaand talking about Eda... there's this famous saying that I still hear to this day. When friends or acquaintances chat about someone who seems too nice or perfect, people in Bulgaria often say, "Watch out! They are like Eda from 1001 Nights!" Even 16 years later, that phrase is still a thing. So iconic. You know you've done you're job when people are calling their neighbor the name of one of your characters. 🤭

If I'm not mistaken (because I'm talking from memories... and I don't know Turkish language) - that's her mother and younger sister. She despises her family and their poor background. She wants to present herself as this high class society woman. In the first clip, she spots her mom (who keeps reminding her of their poverty and wants money) shopping for trendy clothes... So, she's not as broke as she claims. This infuriates Eda... as we can see. Haha. She's a deeply troubled character, and I appreciated how they explored her rough childhood and neglect that shaped her into such a wicked person. Her mother didn't take care of her at all. So... she was not born evil, she became that way, which adds depth. I hate when antagonists are JUST EVIL without any explanation. We witness her in pain and turmoil, mostly envious of other people's wealth, partners, and careers... and she's particularly fixated on the protagonist - Scheherazade. If I recall correctly... (I watched this show almost 16 years ago in my teens) she and Scheherazade were schoolmates, and she was jealous of her even back then, wanting to BE her. One of her biggest regrets is that Scheherazade never noticed her. It's almost like love turned to hate. Fast forward years later, she works for Scheherazade's husband and becomes her best friend, all while secretly plotting and having these constant jealous breakdowns in private. The contrast of her trashing her apartment daily after work, just minutes after smiling at Scheherazade like they're sisters and offering help, is iconic. The way she conceals her true motives and inserts herself into the protagonist's life is what made it entertaining. Nowadays, antagonists are too obvious... their intentions are usually clear to the main characters way too soon. I love when the evil is hidden, only revealed to the audience. Eda lives two lives - one in which we see her true self, and the other, the fake loving persona she shows the world. Classic villain stuff. And even with the show's typical melodrama that is not everyone's cup of tea... it has aged surprisingly well for nearly a 20 year old show. I need to find the Bulgarian dubbed version and watch it some day again. She's in her Sheila Carter era here... in hiding. After killing bunch of people. 😁
