Speaking of "the same old promises" as @Khan mentioned, here's one of the many that the Trump administration has already broken and/or back-tracked on-

To add to that- The U.S. (and not just the elite) has become very comfortable with the idea of a permanent underclass. Many people who live in shelters are working, many people who used food stamps are working-- they just don't make enough money from their jobs to support themselves (and/or family) from the money they make from their job.

So, Trump won't be disclosing deployment numbers and people are wondering about transparency. Did anyone expect transparency from the likes of the Trump administration?? Just a word of caution-- please beware of troll's masquerading as well-intentioned posters asking innocent-looking questions. Some of these questions and answers have already been discussed at length. Of course, the trolls already know this- they are just trying to engage unsuspecting and relatively new posters, so they can get a foothold in the thread and start occupying it with nonsense. A good clue for relatively recent posters (i.e. those who aren't using an alias because they've already been put on ignore by other board members) is to look at the avatars. If the avatar looks like it was done by an unstable person, it's usually because it represents an unstable person. It would be a shame if unstable persons start occupying this thread the way they already occupy other threads (*coughs* GH). We have really good, intelligent discussions in this thread and I really don't wish to see these discussions veer toward the absurd like some of other threads on this board. Just an FYI.

He is so Dumb! Well, the Secret Service has no money because the Trumps blew through the budget with all those golf trips and Trump Inc. trips. People have been discussing the hypocrisy of the right-wingers and how ballistic they'd have gone had Obama or the Clintons gotten anywhere near this level of personal spending! I've also been reading that more and more consumers are dumping Ivanka's clothes at their local Goodwill since no one will buy them at consignment stores. That, and the charities and organizations that are cancelling reservations en masse at Mar-a-Lago, maybe the presidency isn't feathering Trump Inc.'s nest as Donny had hoped it would.

Very interesting video giving a very brief history of those apparently very cheap Confederate monuments. I guess the actual value of those statues reflects the value of the ideology behind it. Cheap, cheap, cheap and not worth maintaining.

What gets me is that Trump showed his true colors throughout the campaign last year and people chose to make themselves okay with his bigotry. And yes, it's a perverted narrative when people believe that someone born with a silver spoon in their mouth, who has never had any direct contact helping people in need, would somehow understand the needs of everyday people. Somebody is perpetrating a huge fraud. Or somebodies.
