Yeah, Steve Simon has performed very badly as CEO. Down the road means, I won't consider subscribing until the end of the year, if not next year. This new service will have to work out the glitches first (and I understand there are some). I've never subscribed to BeIN but I've heard that it is kind of up and down. Tennis business needs to sort itself out!

Uh, I've been calling Trump a kleptocrat from the very beginning. Putin is his role model but Putin is much better at his kleptocracy and Russia has a much weaker rule of law. Trump risks US being seen as 'kleptocracy', says ex-ethics chief Walter Shaub

EDT. By the way, Putin has commented that Russia had other means to put pressure on the U.S. and was quoted as saying that “I hope it will not come to this,”. Perhaps some leaked compromat? Or sprinkling out details from a certain fabled dossier?

As I understand it, most of those job losses will be Russians that do diplomatic work with the U.S. via the embassy, etc. in Russia. Still that number does seem a bit inflated. After all the anti-American rhetoric over the years, who knew that the U.S. would have such an outsize diplomatic/political presence in Russia?

Wow, even with all the low-key disparaging comments Putin tried to insinuate about Obama, I don't remember Russia taking any type of retaliatory measures...at least none on this scale. Hm. It's almost as if he thinks Trump owes him something. Hm.

Atlanta is getting the final that I pretty much hoped would NOT happen ever since I saw the draw and knew it was a possibility. The 60-90 seconds delay is really the only thing about ESPN3 that bothers me (I admit, that factor is a big turnoff!) but otherwise, I connect my laptop to my flatscreen when I want to watch on a bigger screen (although my laptop is a gaming laptop and already almost 20 inches). The WTA is launching its own streaming service and I am considering subscribing to that down the road.- The Politics Thread
How can anyone feel secure with such a man as Trump at the helm?? He's actually terrorizing people over healthcare. You know what that makes him? Which is probably why Sally Yates feels that the Judiciary needs protection...from Trump. Sally Yates: Protect the Justice Department From President Trump- The Tennis Thread
@Soapsuds I saw clips of the match between Edmund vs. Sock and all I can really remember is Jack sweating profusely, and seemingly not wanting to move much while Edmund looked unbothered, zipping around the court. Sock relies too much on winning matches from cheap points on his serve. Well, Edmund et al, is what happens when a player starts to get returns on the serve. Where is the Plan B? Jack, whether weather, weight or some combination, didn't seem very mobile around the court. He seemed to aim to move around as little as humanly possible, electing to let balls simply go by him, down the line or away from him cross court.- ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?

This administration is not good for much but they are solid where absurdity and soap opera-like hi-jinks are concerned. The Young and the Restless may likely be jealous. Here's a factoid for the obtuse folks in the back who want to go on and on about Obama every time we talk about Trump being terrible at governing.- The Politics Thread
Oh the sum total of the Trump WH's plan was to let Daddy Xi take care of it. The waterfall of ineptitude just keeps on flowing-- The Politics Thread
Add in many in the entire NYC metro area. Remember, in addition that mansion near his golf course in Bedminster, Trump had failing casinos in New Jersey too. He also engaged in a bitter struggle to try to buldoze an elderly woman out of her home in Atlantic City for another failing casino to make up for the casino (which he hurriedly sold off) that was on life support. Thankfully, granny pushed back forcing the Orange Menace to stand down and get the hell off her lawn. Only the people who knew nothing about who Trump really is fell for his double-speak.- The Politics Thread
Oh, you mean the stance where he paid thousands of dollars to take out a full page ad in NYC newspapers advocating for five teenage boys of color to be executed? Many of us have seen through Trump's so called "rhetoric" (I call it racism) for many years now.- The Politics Thread

When you read quotes from the lips of Trump's own party that some Senators were afraid passage of this latest bill would tank the markets or that words like "disastrous" are being uttered, you know it's a terrible bill! Trump is inspiring one particular person, that person is Kim Jong-Un who has launched yet another missile. Trump just brings out something in the Dear Leader that, judging from the sheer volume of missile strikes, none of Trump's predecessors have inspired such consistency.- The Politics Thread
@GMac Doing God's work. Let that be the final say to trolls. Anyhoo, Russia knows that Trump is their lackey. You know why? They just out and out seized the diplomatic compounds that they were tossed out of last year after the compounds were declared to be "Spy Nests" by the Obama administration. Now they're back as retaliation for the Senate voting for sanctions against Russia. We'll see whether Trump tries to veto, seeing that Congress can override his veto. But a veto would definitely prove him to be in Putin's back pocket. In Retaliation, Russia Seizes Two U.S. Diplomatic Properties- The Politics Thread

What's going on is definitely a civil war within the Republican party, which actually began with the emergence of the Tea Party and has turned into a huge gaping maw. It can be open to debate whether the office of the President of the United States will now be irrevocably changed but what seems certain that the GOP will definitely be forever changed. I'm not entirely sure that the Republican party as we currently know it, will ever be the same. It's possible that these schisms will cause a permanent splintering of the party. I wonder whether people felt this way about the Whigs once upon a time.- The Politics Thread
