Silly and short-sighted. It's as if, P&G (with the occasional help of CBS) did all they could to flop this series in its last 15 years or so.

A Different World (TV Series)
You really found it on your own, but if my suggestion led to you checking other video platforms, which eventually led you to the video, then I'm glad. 🤗 There is a video of Kadeem Hardison being asked for his thoughts on why ADW had not gotten a reboot and he hinted that certain powers that be would not allow it to happen, although he admitted it was speculation on his part. It's sad that they won't allow a reboot, which has great potential, unlike the majority of the reboots that have already happened.

You're right, it's not there. I could've sworn I watched it on YouTube (have you checked Daily Motion?), it might have been removed. As an aside, man is there a lot click-baity junk that came up when I searched on YouTube!

A Different World (TV Series)
Thanks for posting. It was a good read but I admit, I would have traded all of the comments from Lena Waithe and anyone else not connected with the making of ADW for a couple of comments from Lisa Bonet (although I already figured that she would not be involved in this) or even one comment from Bonet and one from Tomei (did anyone try to contact Marisa? I don't think the article ever said. Some of this information I already knew and some of confirmed or debunked things I'd heard. It was good to hear the actual account if events. I remember feeling irritated and a bit sad when I saw that Martin and ADW were running opposite each other in the same time slot. Reminiscent of what I read about The Cosby Show and Charlie And Company. With as few sitcoms with majority black casts as there were back then, somehow networks always found a way to run them in direct competition. Did you ever see this? I think someone posted that episode on YouTube. It was Unsung Hollywood. Far from comprehensive but makes for interesting viewing.

A few reporters, and some self-appointed respectability police are losing their sh*t and it's hilarious to be honest. Also, this made me titter.

A Different World (TV Series)
Thanks! I was just thinking about ADW yesterday--wondered why episodes were allowed to be edited, depending on platform (on Netflix, episodes were intact, the way they were originally aired as opposed to when heavily edited episodes were rerun on television).

Putting the unsettling aspect of billionaires (once again consolidating even more power, which they then exercise over the rest of the population) aside for one moment, someone mentioned that this will mean that Bezos will also effectively be buying "those Apprentice tapes". Also, with Bezos buying up half the U.S. corporate media and real estate, shouldn't his companies be able to afford to pay every employee and contractor above living wage (I'm not even sure all Amazon employees are being paid a living wage)?

YR summer previews
The Victor/Adam thing, at minimum, can at least be seen as a proper preview (barely), but what kind of preview is, Victor looking forward to Nikki's birthday? Does he have a big surprise planned? I mean, Nikki has a birthday every year...🤷🏾♀️

YR summer previews
What about them? There's nothing else? Shouldn't there be an actual hint about a story here? Or at least a hint of some action being taken that leads to something? Boy, I remember when previews actually hinted of some storyline to come. Now they just blurt out character names. Apropos of nothing.

This has not been getting much attention among Western news outlets, but there may be an emerging constitutional crisis in Samoa, which has been a relatively stable nation politically, albeit one apparently ruled by one party for a couple decades now.

YR: Family Matters actress joins the show
Any way you slice it, that second iteration of Yolanda Hamilton (as some rock and roll roadie/groupie) was just not well-written. At all. It would've been deeply disappointing no matter who they casted in the role. Nevertheless, I hope Telma Hopkins has a good, safe time on set-she wants to work and this is a job. So there's that, I guess.

Although the romantic relationship between Lyla and Cal confounded me, Cal playing Secret Santa to her and Katie was really sweet. I always thought that Carl Gordon as Jessica's father was a terrific casting choice. Many of the episodes uploaded to YouTube that feature the Griffin family seem to be of the actor recast as Mr. Griffin--so much so, that I was beginning to wonder if maybe I had imagined that Gordon was the original Mr. Griffin. Perhaps when he got cast in 'Roc', he was too busy to reprise the role? Tonio and a recasted Sabrina seem so odd together. The Sabrina played by Moore was no glassy-eyed naif, and she certainly wouldn't be taken in by Tonio's overtures. In fact, Moore's Sabrina would likely be pulling the strings or at least the maneuvering would be mutually agreed upon by both parties. Sabrina had been a clear-eyed character, even when clearly in the wrong. On separate note, I was again thinking how good it could be be hear from Jennifer Ashe and someone like Peter Boynton, especially since both are heavily involved in the theater, as of late. I took a look at Ashe's website and saw a photo of her and Meg Ryan in her picture gallery. I don't know what year that photo was taken but they both looked pretty young. I wonder what the story behind that is.

To be honest, I don't think I felt anything for the character of Nathan after Nathan Purdee left the role. The Keesha storyline, to me, was more a chance to see Olivia's range of emotions and to see TLW shine more as an actress. It was more about the other characters (Olivia, Dru, Neil) and how they discovered and dealt with the affair and its aftermath, imo.

For weeks, I have been telling my mother that the next step was likely going to be that vaccines would be available through doctors offices and that she will likely be able to get her booster shot the way she already gets her flu and pneumonia vaccine.

The BBC is such a fail. They barely acknowledge their history of racism and sex predators but they absolutely must investigate this interview from 1995, but not the media's overall history of trying to bully people, or how one of their biggest media bullies became Prime Minister. Now that Hannah-Nikole Jones was turned down for tenure after conservative backlash, can this myth if the highly liberal university system finally be put to bed already? This is no more true than the myth of "liberal Hollywood".- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
Mr. Mooney was a prolific comedian, so much so, that he had different eras of fans--The Hollywood Shuffle era immediately comes to mind. His humor was the definition of incisive but was blanketed in truth and you couldn't but laugh, even if things got a little uncomfortable. Artist usually do make most people uncomfortable.
