DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
Not the best era for the show. But I did enjoy Joshua and Jessica, and Doug and Julie were about to remarry in a few months so I liked that. I noticed on the link next to one of your photos that the site identified the woman as Susan Flannery, when it's actually Margaret Mason. It's funny because someone on Twitter posted a photo of Margaret Mason (with a young Melissa) and thought it was Susan Flannery's Laura with Jennifer. I don't see the resemblance at all, especially not enough to confuse the two. Or maybe that's just because I saw them both when they were on Days?

I thought Polly's questions about Townsend were odd and when she was dying she also sounded like she was talking about someone taking a baby away from her. Maybe that was dropped because there was no one still around her knew about that after John Rice left?

Radio Soap Opera Discussion
The silent movie Florence Williams is the only one I saw on IMDB when I was searching. But I seem to remember there was some scandal involving that actress but can't remember what it was.

Radio Soap Opera Discussion
I didn't think she was old enough for the silent movies. The only article I've seen with her is one where she's in the country with her real husband. And then I found this on newspapers.com (from 1943).

Her name was Florence Williams. I know she was on "Front Page Farrell" with Richard Widmark.

Radio Soap Opera Discussion
I recently listened to an episode of "Road of Life," from the 1940s and an 11-year old boy was on trial for murder. I can't imagine the tv soaps doing a story like that.

This is an interview with Peter Burnell in early 1974, after he left The Doctors. It's really quite sad, especially knowing now how his life turned out.

I'll be quite happy if Karen has the baby off-screen. She's bad enough under normal circumstances. I definitely don't want to see her giving birth!

applcin, I completely agree with your assessment of the Matt/Maggie/Karen situation. It drove me crazy that Matt never acknowledged his role in the matter while it was going on.

Our friend, amybrickwallace, did it again. She snagged an autograph from Patrick Horgan, who played Dr. John Morrison.

Soap Opera Cast Lists and Character Guides- Cancelled and Current
Slick, Joan Fontaine was supposed to appear on The Doctors as part of the anti-smoking campaign but I don't know if that happened since it was so close to the cancellation of the show. This clipping is from October 24, 1982. Tony Randall did appear. His clip was from October 31, 1982.

I don't think Liz was trying to kill herself when she took the serum (or whatever it was) though. She was trying to prove her love to Nick.

Most of the characters on The Doctors are basically good people. Even Karen, although very neurotic, is not evil. Townsend is the closest to a villain but he obviously is mentally ill.
