  1. Watched the first 25 so far... ~ Constance/Dr. Rossi = SIZZLE. Love them together. She has trust issues after what went on with Elliot, I think, and she's trying not to get too caught up with the doctor (foolish woman, he's an amazing man!). He's so upset with how different small-town life is from what he expected it to be. The drama surrounding Catherine's death, the autopsy, and that bitch Dr. Morton is great. ~ Betty is so depressing. I love her, have since the beginning, but it's just *wrong* the way she's treated by Les. I'm glad that Rod didn't flip out when he learned the truth. I think Betty should just cut her losses and move on to another man. Rod's really not worth the shame. Alison, I can't stand. She's one of those "I'm so different from others my age, I know art, music, culture, philosophy. I'm so smart, so different. I get along so well with people thrice my age." characters, and she annoys the crap out of me with her slow, rambling talking. Her and Matt in a scene together, and my eyes roll clean out of their sockets. Through all of this stuff with Rossi, it's clear to me that a man like Matt stays in a town like Peyton Place because there, he's important. He's on the hospital board, he runs the paper, he's the executor of wills, he testifies at parole hearings, he's related to the book store owner. Frankly, I think he has a bit of an ego problem. ~ George Anderson is hilarious. It's interesting how quickly they dropped the domestic abuse part of his story with Julie, as well as Julie's fling with Leslie. In the beginning, it was pretty straight-forward that George was an !@#$%^&*], Leslie was a more decent man, and Julie was just now realizing the mistake she made in marrying George. But now, George is a bumbling idiot, but a much better man. Leslie has gotten so cold, and Julie is content with being George's wife. ~ I want more with Norman. He always looks like he's on the verge of bursting into tears, even before Catherine's death. I don't think we've once seen him smile or in a genuinely happy mood except for maybe a few times with Alison. Rita's introduction is in the second DVD set, isn't it? ~ The stuff with Eli and Elliot is just starting up, Elliot made his first appearance in #25. Didn't really get a good read on who he is yet, but it looks like there's gonna be a lengthy scene with him and Matt (ugh) in the next episode.
  2. Well, bitch, looks like your career is over.
  3. Because rape and suicide just aren't enough. Gotta go for a triumvirate. Ugh. And why in the world is he telling us that we're gonna be on the edge of our seats with the twists and turns after basically telling us how the story is going to end. Just goooo away, dude.
  4. You don't have to be an expert to know this. It's ridiculous and I really don't think I'm going to watch it. If this is what this guys thinks is what Corrie needs, then I guess I don't need Corrie.
  5. Madeleine Sherwood! I had no idea she did a soap! I loved her as the Reverend Mother on The Flying Nun. I would have died if given the chance to meet those people.
  6. Scott Porter (FNL) subbed for Zach Roerig on ATWT. Don't feel too bad. She was, after all, on Where the Heart Is for most (all?) of its run in between her temp replacement jobs.
  7. I'd never heard that Colin spoiler either. Wow, that's dark stuff. I might have to take a break from the show soon if that's the way it's gonna be because all that together is depressing as hell, and there's nothing that I'm particularly looking forward to balance that out. Corrie needs help, bad, and this Doctor Who dude is not the one for the job at all. This is what happens when people think that success on one show means success on another.
  8. Wow. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Sacrifice one of my favorites to make one of my least favorites look better. Corrie's starting to act like a US soap!
  9. Yes! I saw it like a year ago when they put it up. I think they stole it from saynotoursoap's channel, or they asked him for it or something I always figured at least something from that era had to exist in its original color (though it looked like a kinescope?). I remember they showed a random opening from that time on the Emmys a few years back in its original (beautiful) color. They even had Lyle Sudrow, who played Bill Bauer on TV in the 50s, come out to remind everyone he was still alive. I truly believe there's more than what we think is out there. UCLA has stuff, and I'm almost positive it's in great condition (TCM showed a movie from their archives once, and it was crystal clear). They need to just release that stuff on DVD or stream it online or something.
  10. I'm glad they finally got out of the freaking 80s with the episode titles. The 80s are so 2000-20009. Time for the 90s to take center stage. Though I wish they'd just go for all eras. In my mind, "Talking in Your Sleep" refers to the Crystal Gayle song and nothing else. And that's so BS that Stohn is saying about the episodes not being two-parters. How is giving consecutive episodes the same title going to help the writers unless the episodes are two-parters? But then again, the whole show's gonna be more heavily serialized anyway, so maybe it's just gonna be one big 48-parter. They should have just named the entire season "Lonely Swedish (The Bum Bum Song)."
  11. He's kinda contradictory, too, no? He says that he's all for looking ahead and never looking back and not going down memory lane, but he's all for looking back at Nick and Leanne's past relationship. But anyway, Thursday and Sunday's shows... ~ Eileen should have laid into Tina even more than she did. WTF is Tina thinking? Graeme is who she wants? Really? She was turned on by that goofy way he was acting with Ashley and Ciaran at the butcher shop? He's standing there with Ciaran and Ashley, and it's Graeme(!??!?! that she notices? WTF, man. Jason deserves better if it's gonna be like that. I did enjoy the Rita/Tina scenes, though. ~ Lloyd/Cheryl, whatever. I'm still pissed on Teresa's behalf. The speed dating night ended up being all about them and Ciaran/Michelle anyway, so it wasn't all that interesting. I would have loved to see Janice and company ripping on everybody from a corner of the Rovers. ~ They really do want to sneak Max Headroom into every single episode, don't they. Two fairly dull episodes, really. I have nothing left to say.
  12. To be honest and frank, he sounds full of [!@#$%^&*]. Almost all the things he said, I wanted to hear the opposite. And watch Lil Becky try to seduce Steve. And watch her be successful.
  13. The Degrassi kids take advantage of Snake's leniency and coolness. Riley was IMing his little soccer camp slice on the school computers, I remember Alex used to shop for clothes online during class, etc.
  14. Alli does kinda remind me of Hazel now that you've brought it up. Hazel was older when she was introduced (well, a year older, but that makes a world of difference in high school) and not centered on as much, so Alli has more personality, and unfortunately, her personality sucks. I do remember her losing her virginity now. I think there was a genital warts scare of something like that. Her and Johnny broke up after she (STUPIDLY, and this is part of why I can't stand her) texted him naked pictures of herself and he went and sent them to others. I hated that whole thing because I really, really do not get the point of having sex with a guy and then sending him naked pictures. He's already seen what you're working with, there's no reason to be a tease. Old dumb ass.
  15. Wow, that's gonna take forever. And it's only for a few hours each night? Jeez. Ugh. He would, too. I saw him on MTV's new show "When I Was 17," and he NEVER spoke a single word about the show. They showed pictures of it, but he never said a thing about it. The little thing at the bottom of the screen said he was 17 in 2003-2004, which was like...a year or two before the height of the show's popularity. There was no reason for him to act like it wasn't a major part of his life then.
  16. I remember when the show first debuted in the States, I always referred to the characters by things other than their names too. I only remembered that Liberty was played by Sarah B-T because Barrable sounds like "variable" and Liberty was supposed to be the very smart/dorky girl then, so I made the connection between algebra and her lol Riley Stavros is played by Argiris Karras. Every time I see his name, I think of Webster. I have no clue about Sav and Alli. I really haven't taken to Alli at all, so I don't even care about her. She had some storyline movement in the fist half of season nine, so I'm sure things happened with her there. I'm pretty sure Sav has already had sex, but I'm not sure about that either. I'll never forget those pictures though Liberty was booty-popping like an all-star.
  17. When are those pictures from? I would figure that some of those peeps have moved on even from the infamous backstage Degrassi party scene. I once found pictures of one of their parties where Sarah Barrable-Tishauer was doing some crazy un-Liberty [!@#$%^&*].
  18. Jeff Branson auditioned for the role of Trey on AMC before coming back two years later and auditioning for Jonathan.
  19. Oooh, thanks. I found pictures of two of the newbies (besides Adam) here. Eli looks a lot like Zane. ETA: Oh...hellooooo, Fitz. I was wondering who that was in the promo. He's the only new one I hadn't heard about already. What's the actor's name? And I really thought the guy with Riley in the promo was Zane. I figured the idea was that Riley's the tough athletic guy, but he's not as strong as Zane in regards to dealing with sexuality. So three of these characters are gonna look alike to me, not to mention Anya and Holly J. who still confuse me all the time. Funtimes ahead, this season.
  20. Where are you getting all these spoilers/previews from? I'm extremely curious about the new season, so I've been looking for more hints, but I'm finding nothing. Yeah. @SFK: Zane is Riley's openly gay friend from yoga class. Riley had (or "has," as the promo shows) feelings for him, but he wasn't sure if Zane was gay or not (which is totally realistic - you never want to assume any guy you like is gay, even when he sets off the 'dar). Anya picked up on Riley's crush, and so he came out to her and she convinced him to try it out with Zane. Zane and Riley went up to some construction site that was closed for the day and (in a very hot in a subtle way) scene, Riley came out to Zane. Some drama took place dealing with Riley's sorta contrived anger management issues and his apprehension towards being more open about his sexuality, but they shared a little kiss after an LGBT mixer at that club that happens to be on the second floor of the building that is home to The Dot (because I refuse to refer to it as "Peter's club, Above the Dot," because I'm supposed to believe that Peter's ignint ass is a whiz at business management even though he's STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL and probably can't even master pre-calculus? yeah, whatever, show). So it looks like this new guy catches on to Riley's growing friendship with the openly gay Zane, so he pressures Riley into owning up to his feelings and uses it as blackmail. I don't know what the guy wants from Riley, though, and if the guy wants to tap Riley's Greek behind, too, then Degrassi will have officially "went there" in regards to the LGBT issues.
  21. No, I never saw it. When I saw this last night, I spent hours on that site reading the episode guide. What a fantastic resource. Thanks for mentioning it. I was hoping that she would, but I didn't think so either. Does she still do new episodes of Summer Wine? I imagine the main reason why she declined the invite is because of the current "style" of the show. She's definitely got a point, that's for sure. Would have been nice, though, to see "Hilder, Elizabeth, and Bet" together. Goodyear's pretty much a shoe-in to return, right?
  22. I'm in total agreement with you on the Monday-Thursday gap. Airing the show MWF with the short episode in the middle was perfectly fine and symmetrical. The way it is now, it's like the show has two weekends to deal with in a week and all of the other soaps just have the one.
  23. Finally got to Wednesday's episode. Sort of a boring, filler-ish episode. Thankfully, the Tina/Graeme stuff really wasn't that important. I still don't get why Tina's head would ever turn from Jason to Graeme though. I don't get it. It was nice to see a Jason/Eileen scene, though. I love the Grimshaw fam and wish they'd just bring Todd back so that it could be more than just two people plus Julie when they remember to include her. I'm failing to see why Nick has to be in every episode. I was going to try to keep a running episode count for this month just for statistical purposes, but after all of the pre-emptions, I didn't feel up to it. I'm sure Nick's appeared in at least 90% of this month's so far, though, if not a full hundred. It's too much. Any other character wouldn't have been involved in both Gail's trial and the aftermath of the Tony drama and the ongoing stuff with Natasha. The John stuff is kinda bizarre. Whose mind works that fast? That she can comprehend the scheme he's running, decide to keep it a secret, then use it as blackmail to get him to cheat on his wife? I'm a little interested in it though because she looks like she can be a little fun in a crazy sort of way. John and Fiz are still on my sh!t list, though, for being so stupid. What if that woman didn't want to jump his bones and just flat out told everyone? Stupid people. I didn't know there was going to be a Thursday episode. Jeez. So next week is only going to have one episode on Thursday and that's it, right?
