  1. I wish! I love cheesy 90s teen pop culture. I was much too young for these shows at the time (I was born during Tribes's run), but I'd love to see all of them. I'm assuming Tribes was a 65-er like the other two were. I believe all of Swans is on YT. If not all of it, a LOT of it is. I'd have watched them months ago but the A/V quality's not great. He does have an outdated look. !!!!! I KNEW I recognized that name from somewhere. They were the quintessential teen Clueless-era, mini-Melrose bitches. The waitress pissed me off. At the beginning of the scene, I was like "Hey, there's a good actress on here!" And then she progressively got worse and worse as the scene went on. And yes, I'd take this over JJB any day of the week, preferably all five.
  2. On a whim, I searched YouTube to see if there was any footage at all of this soap, which aired on Fox's daytime schedule in the spring and summer of 1990. And lo and behold... The poster doesn't have too many episodes it seems But I'm more excited than I should be to watch this Does anyone happen to remember anything from this show? No one ever remembers it when talking about US network daytime soaps, but I'd say it qualifies to go on the list.
  3. Robyn Ross! That's her name. I just did a quick FB search on her, and she's looking good! She has Fifteen in her "television" section too, so I bet she wouldn't mind answering questions about it. Wikipedia says they taped the second half of the run in Florida, which makes sense considering Nickelodeon was making Universal their home base around that time (I sooo miss those days). It was produced half-and-half by Nick and a Canadian company, too, so they probably wanted some home field control with it.
  4. Of course, now you know that Fifteen was Canadian as well, right? It's known as Hillside up north and aired on YTV (the station that aired the original Degrassi series). There's an episode or two on YouTube that I need to get to watching soon. Young Ryan Reynolds! And their resident bitch, Brooke, seems pretty epic. But yeah, DJH has an old school "E/I" look to it. In school, we used to watch all kinds of educational specials and series from the 70s and 80s (Schoolhouse Rock, ABC Afterschool Special, 321 Contact, MCGEE AND ME!-which had such horrible acting and still airs on TBN or something), and they all had the same look at that DJH has. Very PBS.
  5. I wouldn' be surprised if Ryan really is out. They hardly use him, so what's the point? Corrie's in the peculiar position where its teen set is one of its strong points, but they they're constantly sidelined for Max Headroom. So sad about Hughes. I still see Onslow when I look at him because there isn't a lot of his Corrie stuff available. I hope he's able to recover.
  6. Lotta Love - Nicolette Larson
  7. Othello
  8. I can get why one would hate Craig, though, so it's all good. I'm just weird like that...I'm always intrigued by "bad" characters. Yes. Well...I've seen the first four episodes. I have so much crap on this poor little laptop to watch, but DJH is always on my mind as one that I don't want to get out of step with. One of the things I looooove about these episodes, though, is how we get to hear little snippets of conversations with characters we know absolutely nothing about. Very fly-on-the-wall. Still can't stand Stephanie and Voula, but I thought it was interesting that in the fourth episode, they were still referencing the first episode. I always assumed the junior high episodes were strictly self-contained. "Joey Jeremiah, ESSSquire!" is too adorable for words.
  9. See, my thing with Craig (and other TV characters like him) is that I always see the way he is as some kind of tragedy, some kind of heartbreaking result of the way he was brought up. That's why I sometimes get frustrated when the shows don't delve deeper into characters' psyches or have other characters call them out on their BS. Manny's subtle smackdown on Craig at the end of Holiday was perfect. Just perfect. Most DTNG fans don't like that episode because it focused so much on Joey/Caitlin and so little on most of the TNG kids, but I was in Manny/Craig heaven with that hour! IDC what people say. Paige Michalchuk is an icon. An icon, damn it!
  10. Yeah, 18 to Life. Ellie's gf/bf with Derek from Life with Derek on it. I'll check it out to see if I like it because I do love those two. Craig/Ashley?!?! Noooooooo. Ashley made Craig boring as hell with all of their sensitive musical episodes. Remember that lame song they did? "There was nothin at alllll, NOOOTHING at allll, there was nothing at allllll..." Ewww...just a hideous pairing. Ashley was too emotionally high maintenance for a high schooler. I liked Sean/Ellie a lot, especially pre-shooting when they lived together in Sean's apartment because of Ellie's alkie mom. I miss the group aspect because it felt like they all at least had friends, especially with the Paige crew. Right now, who are Sav's friends supposed to be? Danny, Derek, and Peter graduated and Spinner's busy marrying old characters. Alli's desperate for friends besides Clare. Holly J's clinging to Fiona. Riley only spends time with Zane when he feels safe enough to. Nobody's got anybody to hang out with. LOL at all of the girls going to the CW. Miriam is becoming the new princess of Lifetime movies, so if she's liking that, good on her. A lot of them are focusing on music which is just a baaaad choice. Jimmy was a fluke.
  11. Your least fave is my most fave lol Manny/Craig was my OTP. Paige was all about the drama, and I miss that. They've tried to put Holly J in the Paige role, but it doesn't work because HJ just doesn't have the posse of friends like Paige did. There really isn't any big groups of friends on the show like that anymore. They didnt address her HIV scare in the Hollywood movie? I'm just waiting for them to address whether or not Marco's finally done with Dylan for good. He needs to be. They shouldve had him bring along a little slice when he did his student teaching last season.
  12. Three of Manny's finest hours She was trash, but she owned it. Her beating Darcy's ass is like my favorite Degrassi moment everrr.
  13. LMAO The thing with Clare is that they had her stuck up under KC and playing the betrayed lover. Bitch please, this is high school, keep it moving. Manny > Alli. Manny was never such a desperate shrew. The way Alli was pleading with Chantay to let her join the "power squad" was ridik. Starting a dance team just to make friends was ridik. She's sad. Interestingly, people have been speculating that Drew's only spending time with Alli because he's after Sav. Which would rock on a bagillion zillion levels. I want a scheming, conniving, bitchy, ruthless high school gay on my TV.
  14. LOL It was good to see schemin' Holly J back for a while. And Sav gets hotness points. But IDK WTF Anya's thinking... I'm actually liking Clare this season. Her new guy might be the thing that makes her not boring. Alli is pathetic. Just plain trash.
  15. No, def not alone. I got the gay vibes off Drew from the very beginning. As for Sav, Anya, and Holly J? Idiots. All three of them. "President Sav" makes me want to throw things.
  16. The show's hardly overrun with teens anyway. Rosie and David will be 20 by the end of the year, so that just leaves Ches, Sophie, Sian, Izzy's sister, Ryan (who barely counts), and Becky's upcoming hellraiser of a little sister. I'm sure they'll still portray Rosie, David, and Tina as "teenagers," but are they really? Notice how Graeme is nowhere in the equation.
  17. It was the first one I wanted. Thank you sooo much for putting it up! I just imagine this travelogue tour of Genoa City a la the first few minutes of "Passions." They should have sneaked in a little montage of GC in the first episode just to showcase that music.
  18. Have you found a full clip of Genoa City Theme anywhere yet? I've seen so little of the show that era, bu that song still embodies all things early Y&R for me.
  19. VH1 ran a Soul Train retrospective this past weekend, and it reminded me of when they aired two seasons worth of classic episodes from the 70s and 80s not too long ago. I fell in love with these themes: 1975 <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> 1976 <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzRRMHvdizQ&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzRRMHvdizQ&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzRRMHvdizQ&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> 1978 <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> I felt kinda sad when Dooooooonnnnnnn CorNEELiusssss! said that he wasn't a fan of disco and resisted as much as he could the inclusion of disco tracks on the show. That's my second favorite era of ST after the early years.
  20. Sucks about Vicky. Janice is hilarious, a real classic Corrie character. "Too much like Hollyoaks?" For real? I'm glad I stopped wasting my time with this show.
  21. It's one of the original Y&R underscores. There was a soundtrack released in the 70s with it on there, and those were posted on WoST years ago. A very, very melodramatic piece with piano and strings.
  22. Boo to both of yall. That Y&R soundtrack is one of my favorites. After Nadia's Theme, Rainbow and Lost Hope are the two songs I most associate with Y&R.
  23. In the Long Run - The Carrie Nations
  24. Young Doctors in Love
