Those results are interesting. The Sophie/Sian stuff is so Nuke-ian, it's ridiculous. I almost want to join DS just to point them into the direction of vanhansis.net to show them what they have to look forward to. Affair? Are they talking about when Sian was with Ryan? Jeez, that lasted for all of two minutes. It's good to see some old school entries make it, though, like Rita/Mavis, Annie/Rovers staff, Hilda, Ena/Elsie, etc. Today's my first full day off in a long, long time, so I'm going to be lazy and watch Corrie all day. I've only been a fan for such a short, short time compared to how long it's been on, and even though it's a show based thousands of miles away and that virtually no one has ever heard of in my neck of the woods, I can't help but feel a little proud. I need to wash some of the Cockney out of my head anyway after all the EE I've been watching lately.

I don't get Brendan either. I gave up on Oaks not long after I decided to give it a chance (wish I could find episodes from December 2006 and on, though, I was really enjoying those!). I was interested in the Jasmine/Bart thing, but once they introduced Fern, I checked out. Ste/Brendan went nowhere very, very quickly. The rest of the show failed, epically, to capture my attention. I read on some random site that there are cancellation rumors afoot.

I think I don't have as much invested in the show as most viewers do, so I'm able to just take what they're giving and enjoy it for what it is. Unlike AMC, where all of the stuff that makes no sense and is just bad severely hinders any chance of me enjoying the show. I can recognize EE's faults, but on an episode-to-episode basis, I don't mind spending a half-hour on it. I like the general atmosphere right now, the stories aren't too confusing or convoluted, all of the characters get a decent amount of airtime, and there are different tones/emotions throughout episodes, so I like it. I can't quite put my finger on what tuned me out of the Santer era. I think some of the stories then made it very hard for a new viewer to come in, and so it was hard to follow a lot of the show.

Shhh!!!! Don't ever make it known that you think the "gay" character seems to be legitimately interested in his "beard."

Carl, I finally moseyed on over to DS to see how bad the posters were trashing the show. Jeez! I guess it's safe to say that their idea of good soap is a lot different from my idea of good soap. They're all obsessing over the tram crash, which I'm interested in a bit, but my mind's totally preoccupied by EE at the moment as far as soaps are concerned. Dialogue-heavy scenes like Kat/Ronnie at the Vic, Max/Lauren, Masood/Jane, Masood/Zainab, Carol/Bianca, etc, will always be more interesting to me than watching nightclubs explode and trains falling on terraced houses. I'm loving the Masood drama, the Tamwar end of it at least. Nitin G. was phenomenal in the hour-long episode. He's always great, though, and I'm enjoying all of the chaos with Mas/Zainab, Jane/Ian, and Glenda/Phil/Shirley. Also loving Carol and Connor. The Dot stuff has been depressing, especially when Heather showed up and changed her mind about leaving George with the Brannings. Poor Dot I'm interested in the Stacey/Ryan/Janine stuff, but Janine being clinically insane and Ryan being a liar and Stacey being a murderer is kinda making it hard for me to find someone to root for. I'll just root for Ryan's jeans. The auction at the pub was great fun. I love those things the best, the whole square mixing it up with each other in the pub. I like Kat and Alfie best behind the bar, and it's really cool to see different characters who wouldn't normally interact talking, like Peter and Patrick randomly chatting in the background. I love my Corrie (for sentimental reasons), but in recent months, the Rovers has never been as lively as the Vic. Sylph is going to give me an "I told you so" because in the spring I said EE felt dead while Corrie felt alive. Totally the opposite now (though I haven't watched Corrie in a while...I guess I'll view this week's eps). The last episode I've seen is Thursday's, so I'm getting caught up finally. One thing I've noticed is that nearly all of the cast is being seen somewhat regularly. The only absentees I can think of are Fatboy and Mercy.

Crap. I guess I gotta watch that. The old music cues would have been more effective. I always liked how the final scene ended with that one particular part of the theme, and it would have worked well here. My Rita

That was some great piano playing, but damn it, I can go the rest of my life without ever hearing another 80s family sitcom theme again. Except for Mama's Family. Oh, and Re: Moonlight Feels Right. I don't think the lyrics are THAT good (except for that opening line - "The wind blew some luck in my direction. I caught it in my hands today." - that line is smoooooooth) because I hate it when songs get too specific. I'm from Louisiana, I don't want to sing about Ole Miss or Boston or Chesapeake Bay. But musically, I love it. The instrumentation and the melodies are fantastic. And in regards to Who, I'm really interested in the first four doctors and I like what I've seen of Tennant.

I'm guessing some folks couldn't make it or didn't want to participate. The main one missing is William R. Moses, but it would have been nice to see Laura Johnson as well, and perhaps some of the more well-known one-season wonders like Morgan, Cliff Robertson, etc. They got most of the long-running cast members, though, so I'm impressed. And wow, I was checking to see if Chao-Li Chi was still alive, but apparently he died two days after Simon McCorkindale died. The barmaids article is great! I'm ashamed to say I don't know who most of them are, but nevertheless it's still nice to see the pictures. It's a much different article from the EE25 article where most of the original cast members seemed to have bad memories of the show. The Sophie thing is really starting to irritate me. I can't believe there are people out there who thinks she's one of the top ten best characters over the show's entire history. She and Sian sat on the backburner for most of this year, and only recently did the show decide to do something with their storyline. And at them being named the top two sexiest, above Michelle Keegan. That's ridiculous. The sexiest men list is pretty sweet. So good to see Ryan Thomas at the top followed by Rob James-Collier. I'd switch Ben Price out for Bruno Langley.

I can't find anything to back it up, but I think I remember reading that they also had a hand in Ted Corday's other soaps, Morning Star and Paradise Bay. My memory could be making that up, though. Looking at that article you posted...Susan Brown looks a lot like 70s-era Kathryn Hays in that picture! And Geary looks like he just came from the set of Room 222. It's so weird reading short biographies of him and David Lewis without GH being mentioned. ETA: Wait, no, I'm sure BCP didn't do the Corday shows. I'm confusing them because I always figured...the Cordays owned DAYS and saved the episodes, so they must have owned Morning Star and Paradise Bay and saved those episodes, too.

I'd say it's quite possible all of BP exists. It was produced by Bing Crosby Productions (Ben Casey, Hogan's Heroes), which is now owned by CBS, so perhaps perhaps.

Sophie is not funny...I think that pairing's got a bad case of the Nukes, and it's even worse because Sophie and Sian are on even less than Luke and Noah were at the beginning of their relationship. Chris Fountain is gorgeous, and I liked him a lot on Hollyoaks, so I hope he does well on Corrie.

That list is atrocious! The Sophie overload is bewildering because she's obviously included for the lesbian story, but that story has barely even been featured since the two became a couple. Ugh. I was going to start watching again but decided against it once I got behind on EE. Nothing's really tempting to get back into Corrie, I'm afraid. That promo highlights everything I dislike about the show right now.

Still playing the catch-up game...the Thu. and Fri. wedding episodes (11th and 12th) were fantastic, just great. All kinds of emotions were played, all kinds of dynamics were on display. All of the interactions were on point, and the mood was perfect. I don't want to ramble on and on each thing but a few frivolous side points: ~ Jack was in the trunk for how long? Nobody thought he stunk from sweating buckets in a trunk over night? He held it in all night too? ~ Damn it, Jake Wood's won a fan. Max pleading with Lauren not to leave was riveting. ~ What's the deal with John Bardon? Can he not talk? It saddens me that he's relatively young, yet he's got all those health issues. ~ Poor Tamwar lol I didn't mind seeing him mope around in his undies. ~ Connor/Carol needs to happen, for real. I'd love the show forever if they went there. ~ Julie is such a sympathetic character. I was sold the second she ran out of the Vic. Her and Billy are perfect together (for now), and I can't wait to watch their story progress. ~ Sal She looks like Sally Jessy Raphael. ~ I softened considerably towards Kat and Alfie (and Ronnie and Jack). I was glad both couples got their good weddings. ~ One thing that annoys me about the show is how half of the characters disappear for long stretches of time. I know not everyone in the square likes everyone else, but wouldn't simply being neighbors almost guarantee the presence of people like Zainab, Christian, Syed, Bianca, Ricky, Ian, Peter, Denise, etc? Don't get me wrong, the Vic was packed with people, but that sorta drove home the fact that the others were presumably at home while there's a party in the local. ~ The Ronnie/Kat scene was incredible, and both actresses deserve a round of applause. That's what soaps are all about. ~ And last but not least, Mo raising the roof to Crazy in Love was HILARIOUS.

Oooh. It seems like a classic case of "it went to his head," then. I've only seen bits and pieces of the storyline. I watched a few episodes when I was getting back into EE/Corrie, and I thought they were all right. It was right after Jackson's accident, so Aaron was moping around being sad without being sad. What's the current view on ED right now? Would yall recommend it or not? Not that I need to be getting in on another soap as I'm still about a week and a half behind on EE...

Wasn't the press swooning all over at around the time of the British Soap Awards because of how proud he was and defensive he was over Emmerdale?

Oh, I know, I know. We don't hear real percussion at all anymore, though, and that's sad. I heard her on MusicChoice once! I love her style, the way she's in the song but not so in to that she can't smile with the audience and what-not.

Wow...that's unbelievable. And no one (on the show/in the audience) had an issue with Heather being in her FORTIES talking about having sex with a TEENAGER? Jesus H. Christ. In a way, I'm glad they don't use her much anymore. Any scenes with her and Darren talking about their child would be utterly awkward. Quick note about the current episodes -- I'm not feeling Vanessa and her storyline much at all. To be honest, she's boring me, and the whole Desperate Housewives style they've got going on with her just doesn't fit the rest of the show at all. Her blaming everyone else for the lie she told to her daughter for nearly 20 years isn't helping.
