  1. They played Ava dumping Brady all wrong for me. They should have let her hand him his ass by telling him how she lost all respect for him by how he's handled things, especially his demented brat of a daughter. On the other hand, Ava toying with EJ was much more fun. I thought SSH was great. Julie IS over the top so it works for me, and there were honestly moments I was almost scared for poor Dougie.
  2. I don't think she would have went there since she grew up in the "tonier part of town called Wycliffe Heights."
  3. Not just for this unnecessary recast, but a culmination of things. She said she's been planning this series for years, but the ages of multiple characters are out of whack. You think such easy fixes would have been fine tuned. Then, bringing on Cady McClain as Dani's best friend in rumoured rewrites, when she had much better friendship chemistry with Vanessa, and then saying Vanessa was Nicole's best friend, when they've only had one scene together. And not to be shady, but of all the actresses, MVJ has practically admitted that Karla Mosley is her muse that she wanted no matter what? A very odd choice to be so passionate about when, in my opinion obviously, Mosley is hit and miss at the best of times. And if the speculation that Maurice Johnson was just a placeholder, things could and should have been re-written for Ted to only debut when Robinson was available. It would have been easy to have him off-screen until then.
  4. If they didn't waste time with all the unnecessary exposition, they could have threw in a line about him getting her number from his grandma Marlena. So easy.
  5. Also, it's very odd and unfortunate we haven't had Chad react to anything going on with EJ/Kristen and their machinations. This reminded me, it made me irrationally annoyed when she said Felicity was upstairs. Upstairs where? On the roof? Cause you live in a basic apartment, you nitwit.
  6. I wish they were playing this Javi/Leo relationship as Javi being pathetic and desperate for love, and that's why he's clinging on to a pushing 50 pervert loser from hell. As it stands, their material is revolting. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm officially over Cat. I really enjoyed the climax and aftermath of the imposter story, but now we have this pushing 40 woman acting like a deranged school girl. It's very embarrassing. Has SSH ever used a cell phone in her life? And why the heck did Tate have her personal number at the ready? I never saw much of her before, but I think I can say I'm a fan of Melinda Trask. If I had to write her out, I'd probably have her betray Kristen as her lawyer, and leave town with a bag of cash. If Kristen is going to stick around, she needs to lose everything. Holly being cutesy was age appropriate, but annoying. She reminded me of how comedian Jessica Kirson makes fun of how happy/young people talk.
  7. You think the episode would have ended with Joey on the phone to Marcel. You know, a dramatic scene to end the episode of a soap opera. Strange. However, I found today better than practically all of last week. I think Marcel is probably undercover rather than crooked, but we'll see. I thought the Anita/Naomi scenes were sweet and wonderful, and the rap was adorable and showed a fun contrast to Anita's steelier side. It was also nice to learn more about Jacob, and I'm fully invested in what Joey has planned and how it's starting to effect more people. He could be better, but I'm not minding Tomas too much. I think he's slowly getting better and more comfortable. But if he's just a plot point for the Eva/Kat rivalry, so be it.
  8. He better be amazing or else I'm going to start seriously questioning MVJ's taste level.
  9. We musn't forget Andrea Evans was not the original Rebecca Hotchkiss, that honour (?) goes to THEE Marcia Brady.
  10. I don't think Derek is going to be recast because I think it's clear he's only going to be around for storyline dictated reasons and will be naturally be gone sooner rather than later.
  11. History question: Did Kim or Kayla ever miscarry?
  12. You'll hate me for saying this, but I realized watching the other week that Brandon Claybon's voice reminds me so much of how Joseph C. Phillips speaks. Obviously, the latter is a talent, and somehow Claybon feels completely unnatural, but I had to share that niggling thought.
  13. I'd happily take daddyTed as a Jonah Carver recast on DAYS. This is a damn shame. I hate recasts, but it is what it is. I don't know anything about this guy they're bringing in, but I wonder if it could be because Maurice Johnson was too likable and MVJ is set on having Ted become a surprise villain? Johnson made it very easy to buy that Leslie would lose her mind over losing him. Hopefully we hear from Maurice Johnson soon and he'll soften the blow.
  14. I've always wanted him to secretly still be a serial killer all this time, people from where they live have found out about his past and there's a couple bodies that have turned up. Naive and desperate Ciara moves them back to Salem, not being able to deal with the pitchforks and still believing Ben's innocence. This obviously intrigues nosy ass Leo, so Ben can at least kill him. When all is revealed, Ben is killed off and Ciara has to deal with the fallout of her toxic love.
  15. Probably would have had John raise him and then kidnap him and make him a new pawn when he was old enough.
  16. Unless, this was another Stefan situation where RC was forced to writer her exit, but wanted to do so in a way where things were left unfinished.
  17. Stephanie was her most interesting when she was a desperate/insecure basket case, so I hope the eventual fallout from her keeping two major secrets from Alex will bring that messy girl back.
  18. I checked today because of Hauser's passing, and I couldn't find anything to suggest he was. Brian Kerwin still is, but I'm assuming you meant Howard McMillan. He did, however, marry a man in 2013.
  19. I was pretty much going to post the exact same sentiments with about the Kate/EJ scenes. That music cue needs to be thrown in the trash. This show proved last week they know how to do drama correctly, I don't understand how they dropped the ball so quickly. However, in regards to Gabi, I actually don't think she was supposed to be the bad guy, but instead was being written as the Greek chorus for those who hate Leo. Maybe that's my bias talking, or the remnants of how great last week was, but I thought Javi also came off as incredibly naive and Leo was just a problem that would soon sort itself out. JJ has never been married. After wondering if today was Joy's last episode, I went to her Instagram to see if AlexAnn Hopkins mentioned anything, but her account is private, which could be proof in itself. Plus, there's no mention of DAYS in her bio, but that was also the first time I went to her page so could mean nothing. If anyone sees confirmation of her exit, please post it.
  20. To me, Daniel Cosgrove's best role will always be the one where he had to joyously eat dog jizz.
  21. Wings Hauser (Greg Foster #3, 1977-81, 2010) has passed away... https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/wings-hauser-dead-vice-squad-soldiers-story-1236169294/
  22. Emily O'Brien's accent was all over the place today, but other than that (and her horrible wig) her scene with Xander was the best of the episode for me. I look forward to her returning as Gwen where she can just talk normally. And what a treat that Mary Beth Evans was actually given the opportunity to act again today. She was probably more emotional than normal because of real life circumstances, but it was refreshing to remember what she's capable of when given even the tiniest of material. The show came to halt when it was about the Joy/Alex/Steph story. Joy should not actually be pregnant, and Abigail Klein can not pull off acting. If she has no haters, I'm dead. It's tiresome when I'm rooting for the two pregnancies on the show to result in miscarriage. When Shane or potenitally "Shane" said Estonia, all I kept thinking about was the Conan O'Brien joke at the Oscars.
  23. River City has been cancelled. Premiering in 2002, the show will end in Sept. 2026. https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2025/river-city-to-end-2026-bbc-plans-next-generation-of-drama-production-three-new-titles
  24. Respectfully, your mind blank after posting these two thoughts after the other was hilarious. But yes, as Jane said, the third is Arnold Feniger a.k.a Rafe2.
  25. I've been wondering, is Sami the only soap character to be raped by three different people?
