AOL Video: P&G Soap Channel

Umm...yeah, where is the P&G channel? Didn't realize that they weren't going to show episodes in succession; instead, they're going to be isolated episodes? That's going to be hard to pull off w/ soaps.

I prefer them not showing in succession. It would be nice if they showed several eppy's from different years. Like with AW, I rather see some of the stuff coming up rather than have to go back and start in 70's or 80's I am just afraid that AW fades away on Soapnet and not being to see the stuff that is coming. That is why I would love for SN to add a second hour. Just to speed up every that is coming like the Ryan and Vicky romance, the recast of Grant, Paulina, and Vicky and so on and so on. Hopefully, that is in the cards for SN with Soaptalk being canned and shows like 90210 and BH being put out on DVD.

Im completely lost, is the channel already up? Why exactly do you guys think it's crap? I'm not trying to defend the channel, I just was interested in seeing what the problem was bc I can't find it.

The AOL Video portal is up at http://video.aol.com. The P & G Classics Soap channel is not on there yet but this is a preview and AOL is supposed to add more channels this week.

My first impression (hopefully, things will change) was one of disappointment. I thought the soaps would have been up already but I can wait and see with that. When you do a search for something (assuming you get anything), you get links to other sites, some of which you have to pay them (not AOL) for so, unless you know that, which AOL Video doesn't indicate, you get an error when you try to play the file. I also thought the show content within the channels was rather limited. All that's under Comedy Central, for instance, is "Chappelle" and "South Park." A & E has a few reality shows. The History Channel came up empty. Most of what I did searches on produced sites with clips, themes, promos, etc., as opposed to episodes.

So, it was a bit of a downer at first glance after seeing all that stuff in the article.

Thanks for clearing it up for me! :) Hopefully in the end it'll be a decent channel. The Dramarama one is fantastic, they even showed the unaired pilot for Falcon Crest. Something FC fans have been searching for for YEARS.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for some really good surprised for us as well. The only sad thing is that there will be no classic ATWT/GL, the two classic soaps I want to see the most.

Still no P & G channel yet. From the way the whole thing is set up, I'm inclined to think we're going to get selected episodes of the classics, as opposed to a continuous showing of every episode. I hope I'm wrong but the whole thing looks kind of disappointing so far. The primetime shows from In2TV seemed to be featured maybe a season at a time, if that, with prior seasons nowhere in sight.

Has anyone else noticed that when you go to a channel that has multiple pages (like LOL TV), it's the same episodes over and over again? And on their scrolling screen on the main page they've got "Louise & Clark." :P
