Let's see who the replacement is before we do our screaming and celebrating. Very few quality head-writers are left in the game.. and remember Ron C is still out there.

Hah, Ron downloaded the AI program, pressed the button, and now Joshie has been kidnapped!

For me, it's just... if the characters are still going to appear once or twice a month and sip from empty coffee cups, talking endlessly, but not about AI and kidnappings, that's only a very nominal improvement.

I think Ron turning up is a distinct possibility, lol. I expect he has no idea how to write this show but it sure won't be boring.

Roger Howarth better pray it's someone like RC if he wants to keep contributing to his grandkids' college fund.

I'd like to think Griffith was forced out and allowed to announce he was "leaving."
We just got interviews earlier this weeks about how "delicious" he found it to pair Howarth and Stafford, among other story topics. I find it hard to believe he gave those interviews knowing he'd be "leaving" in a couple days.

Thanks for answering me about Heather. I can buy Clay not caring, but I think Gwyn by that point in her life would have cared - a little too much.
I wonder if new viewers just thought they were both Jack's kids. Sadly, any layers they could have mined never happened due to the show ending.

And SONY & the Bells need to stop taking so much $$ from it. Obviously, the show's budget is the same as (or more than) other daytime shows, but it APPEARS far cheaper, which can only mean that excessive distributions are made to the owners, at the expense of the show itself. That needs to stop. And if it means cutting out a few of the higher paid veteran performers, then do it. They can't continue operating the show on a $2.10 per episode budget with unimaginative writing.

I don't envy the new headwriter having to try and clean up JG's 6 years of slop. And having to work on a budget of $1.98. Plus a mindset that insists Victor be the lead and Phyllis the loveable troublemaker.
Hopefully no more psychos, kidnappings and corporate takeovers. That would be the first positive steps.

Loving/The City Discussion Thread

I've been crossing my fingers that the musical episode will turn up on that channel eventually.
In late 1993, when the show is toying with a Clay/Gwyneth/Buck/Stacey quad, there's an episode where Stacey hosts a birthday party for Heather that Clay and Gwyneth both attend - and Clay spends most of it openly wondering to Gwyn why they even have to be there. In general Gwyn and Clay are pretty hands off grandparents, even with Christopher, who you'd think they'd be obsessed with given how obsessed they were with Trisha.
They sort of did do a Stacey/Trucker/Trisha triangle in 1992, with Stacey confessing to Trisha that she had fallen in love with Trucker and Trucker briefly having amnesia and thinking that he and Stacey were together.
