The Cotillion has lost momentum for me, it should have been a Feb sweeps focused event instead of being dragged to May. With that said, even if it had played out in Feb, I don't really care because it's focusing on two pointless characters (Tyrell & Samantha) when it would have worked better if the show had thought to have Donnell & Deanna be a little younger and on the show from the start so we could have seen the dynamics between Doug/Vanessa/Donnell/Deanna before Doug's 'death' (I still said he's alive out there).

The Plasma story also seemed to hinge on the free clinic, but we've yet to see the clinic nor the players involved in the clinic in a consistent way (i.e. Derek). With Derek being friends with Jacob, it's odd that Derek was kept out of the undercover story.. but being that he's the only one with a working brain.. it's probably why he was kept out of most of the action. Just the way he and Ashley interacted on Monday's episode makes me think Derek is going to be the one to suffer an untimely ending (hopefully as a hero saving everyone).

Even if I would have felt that it was rushed...I agree about February for the cotillion. Then perhaps this plasma storyline could have gotten more meat. I would have loved more Donnell and Deanna though I do like Ty and Sam. It's just sad how under-developed they have become after both having nice small teen stories to start off with.

And THAT'S another thing. The plasma storyline might (big MIGHT) have worked better if it was going on at the free clinic. Which of course means an ACTUAL SET. I could see that completely. I don't feel Derek outside of the undercover part of the story is too bad. He is still in the story. NOW if there was a set for the story...then yeah it would be more glaring. I thought it was just an attempt to capitalize on the Jacob/Smitty team-up that worked so well last year as well as give Jacob a good guy story and Jacob/Naomi some much-needed conflict.

Now if Derek dies now that BG is off contract, you know I hope I'm right about Tomas and AA.

If I had to pick one regular/recurring cast member to bite the bullet in the plasma storyline, Derek would be the most obvious choice. He doesn’t have a storyline except as Ashley’s friend and he occasionally spars with Leslie. His character has “heroic death” written all over him.

I don't think the plasma storyline has earned the death of Derek or any other character. I'm glad they're pushing the story to a close, but that's mostly because it's so bad. This is supposed to be some grand criminal enterprise, yet we had Max and Grayson stabbed and Jacob beaten...because why?

At least the writers have finally given Lia a motive for her involvement with the plasma ring. As we know, she is Chief of Staff, so she is both a successful and respected physician and a high level administrator. Until today, I found it difficult to believe someone with such a successful professional career would risk everything on a two-bit plasma smuggling scheme. Now, it makes a little more sense.

That's all true, but then it begs the question of what Lynette did with all the money she stole. We're supposed to see Lynette as smart enough to defraud people of everything they have -- and yet that's not who we get on the screen.

If Derek is offed, you nailed a big problem with story -- no free clinic onscreen, and too little Derek. As I said, the death of Derek has not been earned by this story.

The plasma story is bad, and all this action as it moves to a climax can't cover for a really weak foundation to the entire plot.

As those were the main stories in the past two half weeks, all I have to say is...when is cotillion? Cuz the struggle is real.

On Monday's show, Samantha said the cotillion is "in two days." Of course, we don't know how long it will take to play out the two days before it takes place. I am concerned about pushing all these stories to major movement at the same time.

Mike, wow. He's out of control, but entertaining.

I agree. My problem is not that Madison is being sued or who the lawyers are. It's that the lawsuit itself is so ridiculous on its face. Why not give us something more serious, more believable? Instead we got a lawsuit that would be thrown out on day one.

-- And Jacob is still hanging around that brick wall? That is, when he's not "meeting people" in his seedy hotel room. What an undercover cop.

Is Lynette connected to the plasma plot? If so, that went right over my head. And if she is not connected to the plasma plot, what does Lynette's fate have anything to do with the writing for Lia?? Maybe I'm missing something...

You're not missing anything. No one's saying Lynette's fate is tied to Lia.

My point was that Lynette defrauded Lia of all her money -- so why weren't we presented with a Lynette who had money stashed away? Instead, she hit up Hayley like she was broke.

Lynette was the person that defrauded Lia??? Damn, I missed that. So yes, I was missing something BIG. Was the Lynette/Lia connection exposed on today's episode, or earlier? I remember today they mentioned the name of a woman responsible for the bank frauds, but I didn't pay attention to the name, so did not make the connection to Lynette. Damn...
