Are the 1998 episodes being uploaded in sequential order?

Looking at the episode descriptions it's 8256 and then 8259-61 so far. I hope the playlist only having 45 videos on it so far doesn't means that they'll limit the episode uploads. It's a serialized show so it doesn't make sense not to upload all episodes.

I saw a comment that the missed episodes has music in them. So that might be an explanation for the random skips. I think B&B just let YouTube's automatic system handle those things though.

Waiting for Chandler Massey debut as Will and the follow-up episodes, basically covering his first year and beyond.

If they end up being fairly consistent with the 1998 episodes, I'd consider watching and giving commentary on them. It's an era of Days that was before my time. I started watching the show regularly during the summer of 2000.

I’ve always assumed the main reason they’ve never really attempted to re-air these episodes is the music rights. We all know residuals for actors and production people are literally pennies, but those music rights are expensive. Pretty much since 1970 through the 1990s popular music was a huge part of Days. I feel like probably half the 1980s episodes have some pop music in them either in the background or front and center in the episode. It’s really tricky. They would have to mute a lot of scenes I feel.

If they have the master tapes, then surely the music can be lifted out? It's usually added in post-production.

Just an update, but the playlist has gone from 45 videos to 49, so at least that indicates that they won't limit the episode uploads too much. Unfortunately I do assume missing episodes has to do with music rights.

Honestly, if it costs money to fix, they probably aren't going to do it. A lot of those '70s and '80s episodes have live music that would be super easy to edit out, but they just don't want to pay anyone for the work. It's probably just an intern with zero editing skills dumping them on YouTube lol. They might go that far if they ever launched a paid platform for the show, though.

I wanna wait for enough episodes to save up and then start binge watching. Are they uploading a bunch of episodes in order from 98 onwards? I wish they’d go a little further back to atleast the early 90s but I’ll take what I can get. Great quality too.

They're going to upload seasons from what I can see. They started in March 1998, so it's technically not even the start of the 34th season, but they do seem to be in order just with missing episodes (supposedly due to music rights).

The episodes they're dropping now was Sally Sussman's first big story that is being paired with Eileen Davidson's final weeks on the soap. The Killing Pool story was Sally's idea and she presented it to JER when he was showing her the ropes and he said he approved it without question and took the story to heights he didn't even think to go.

I also had forgotten how much focus Laura (Jamie Lyn Bauer) had during this period and it's a shame that the youth oriented obsession did away with most of the characters over a certain age.
