The Duprees are all about family, and sharing food and conversation woul be second nature -- more than going to the country club for every meal.

While I do agree about the pacing issue, I also agree with this as well.

Since I agree with the laughing gif, let me explain why... Its just silly to invest in more sets, espescially since the show is pretty young. Yes, the idea is laughable-- look at GL towards the end, there are more important things to I'd much rather them spend $$ on some a-name Soap actors than an extra set piece or two.

I don't expect the show to constantly splash out for a ton of sets. I understand the realities of current soap budgeting (unless your name is Frank Valentini). But I do think several more are needed for these stories. At least we finally saw a warehouse last week to add to the plasma story. Still, not having the clinic or several other key locations isn't acceptable.

If they can bedazzle some day old bagels and make Dani Dupree wear them, they can figure out how to shoot some outdoor scenes and freshen up some sets for summer. It's not rocket science.

The reason I think sets are less important was that in the 80s, the focus became on sets and locations instead of the writing and plotline. And there were a lot of substandard shows that had decent sets, but lousy acting and stories.

To me, it sounds as though TPTB didn't think realistically about what sets were needed and what sets they could without. Was there a need for two offices for Nicole, a living room set for Nicole, a kitchen set for Dani (which could be re-used for Anita/Vernon's house), Dani's gate house, and a living room set for Bill/Hayley? Bill's office could easily be re-used for Joey's office or even Vanessa's office.

At least they gave Jacob/Naomi a living room set eventually.

To me, I would have not introduced the coffee set, and perhaps used that set for perhaps the clinic instead.

I don't understand what you're saying here. First you agree with the laughing gif and say it's silly to invest in more sets. Then you use GL and Peapack...to make what point, exactly?

Spend money on "A-name soap actors"? I don't think we need any of those. I'm not opposed to big names joining the cast, but that's not what the show lacks.

I think between 2-5 more sets are necessary. I don't think 5-10 or 20 are possible atm. That's just the reality of the current daytime budget for most shows.

To me, sets aren't that important. I don't care if the Dupree's have a dining room table, or if Naomi has an office. Those things aren't that important to me.

To me pacing is the biggest issue and working on some of the dialogue so it seems a bit more consistent from episode to episode should be the focus over if the Dupree's have a dining room table or not.

This, right there.

It would be really nice to have a plethora of sets, but what you said!

I'd be thrilled with 2-5 new sets. @Paul Raven mentioned what the show needs, but I don't think he expects to see all of those or that the budget will allow for them.

This shouldn't be a debate between better pacing and more sets. Those are two different issues.

None of us calling for more/improved sets are saying "A dining room table for the Duprees is so much more important than better pacing."
