Very. Maury West got to play it to the hilt and there was nuances again. The fact that Ava/Sonny actually became a potential avenue for Sonny again and the storyline was making it plausible was unexpected. Nina vs Ava. Ava still showing compassion for Kristina/Blaze even as she was the one to destroy Natalia...which really started when Natalia moved into HER potential spot at Sonny's side at the Chase/BLQ wedding (I think it was their wedding). I know, I know. Ava is evil, but Maury was playing those layers like it was nothing.

So many little moments in that brief time. And now...she's like how Nina was once PM left...an afterthought.

Again, I have always thought Maura was playing the starring role in Sunset Blvd with Ava. MW is a lot for me, but I understand why people love her. Everyone needs a paycheck and this seems to be basically a part time role to play.

If there was some sort of smart subtle reason, the Joss actress could not have conveyed it. She is not suited for this material at all. Just compare her performance to the actor playing Ethan. He can pull off smart, charming and manipulative. She can not.

It should be Emma getting Joss's material. It would make more sense for the Emma character, and the actress would probably pull it off better.

Joss is probably a lost cause at this point. It might be best to ship her out and have her come back in a few years recast, when they have a better handle on the character.

TBH, Maura West hasn't always been my cup of tea either. I thought her first stint (1995-96) on ATWT - when Marlena Delacroix compared her to Carroll Baker - was out-of-the-park good, but it seems like when she returned to WT the next year, she decided to be a SOAP actress, instead of just an actress.

Nevertheless, though, I do appreciate how she, like Laura Wright and Cynthia Watros, always shows up to play. She doesn't sleepwalk through performances like some of her cast mates (not naming names, lol!). I just wish she lay aside some of their soapier elements of her acting and just, well, act!

Honestly, I wouldn't object to killing off Joss, since I think Carly has enough kids to worry about, and I think we're pretty much guaranteed never to see Jax again either.

Joss really doesn’t bother me like she does you guys. I just find her to be Carly Jr. and what I would expect Carly’s daughter to act like.

It's absolutely true, but it doesn't have to be that way. IMO MW can still tear the roof off the place with Ava. I'll say it til the cows come home (and already have), but I really don't care if Ava goes after 10+ years so much as I care that she gets good story while doing it.

Do I think Ava can continue indefinitely while resuming a more dangerous role? Yes, if you handle it right. But CVE seems content to just renew her little friendships, keep her in these light sideplots etc. all just so he can keep perpetually having Ava on the show and queen out about her. It's the same personal preference IMO that guided him and others to bring back all the Obrecht clan and Brad, in addition to the larger necessity of Jason needing an emergency love interest (Britt). All of that is a waste of time to me. Commit to more or rest the character. It's not like DAYS or Y&R are going to pony up for Maura (or that Y&R would ever go near her again).

Okay, I will give Jacqueta her due. I do find that the actress and Kate McM DO have some good hate chemistry and I enjoyed the 'hooker' reading Willow all the way down. I even rewinded...it was good.

Still don't want or need her with Michael, but she gets that little crumb from me.
