The last 3 episodes have been a MESS. That's all I can say. They need help with dialogue writers ASAP. ASAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP.

Fully agree. Honestly, if we got these kinds of shows in the first couple weeks, I never would have jumped on the I Love BTG train. I think the show has been off == it's just different -- and  the dialogue has been hit-or-miss.

-- Having the rings as a story thread for every set of characters was a great idea, ruined by some really bad set-ups and dialogue.

--  Naomi being upset about losing her rings? Of course. That's realistic. But the emotional meltdown she had wherein losing the rings meant her marriage was over? Ridiculous.

-- Ashley acted like paint was spilled on that rug instead of beer. And I still want to know how Derek climbs onto that platform and into bed.

-- Ted's dialogue about the rings was good, but if that was a Ted/June chem test, I WILL SCREAM. Nothing about that makes sense, nor does him spilling his heart to someone he never met before. Nor does his complete ignorance as to who June is.

-- Why did Ted go to Orphey Gene's anyway? He didn't order, he didn't eat, he didn't have coffee.

-- The ring stuff didn't work with Vanessa. She has screwed how many escorts? How much cheating has this woman done? Yet her rings mean everything to her? GMAFB.

-- Of the couple dozen+ characters on BTG, Joey Armstrong is the LAST person I want to see bedding down anyone. So who do we get more than anyone? Joey Armstrong. Make it stop.

-- That room Joey rented looks like it was furnished by Dollar General.

-- For a time, I was OK for Joey's mob using Doug to get Vanessa in line. Now? I don't understand why Joey wants Doug to be ruined financially and emotionally unless it's to get Vanessa for himself. So Joey cares about Vanessa? Gag me.

-- I understand Year One growing pains, but this is the most painful period of the first seven months.

I had said in the past that I thought the order of June's story was out of whack and today just proves it.   The potential of a June/Ted coupling should have been focused on as a step in her ongoing path to regaining her life after a long period of struggle.   The Tyrell/Samantha bombshell should have waited till June was further along in her path of rebuilding her life.  It's partly why I side with Smitty (one of the few apparently that did LOL).

Overall.. a good episode and a nice hump day episode.

Sidenote...I thought that was you who suggested that. I have come around to that even though I like what is happening so far, but it just would have been sooooo much better if they did this with June FIRST.

I am curious to see how tomorrow is handled. This show IMHO tend to treat Thursday like a Thursday in terms of the main plot of the week being background for that one day of the week before going back to focus on Friday. I hope that is what this actual Monday was so we are just continuing building up the Doug/Vanessa/Joey suspense.

I agree that the hotel room was poorly done especially if it was meant to be Puerto Rico. This show has a big problem with being too indoors. If you aren't going to shoot on location, you at least need some studio outdoor sets. I feel like on any other soap they would've at least put a balcony with some semblance of outside or an establishing shot. It felt like a motel room in Fairmont Crest.

One part I do disagree on is Joey. I do think he's sexy and I love his chemistry with Vanessa. They've become one of my favorite parts of the show.

We have several changes to the writing staff coming up. I'm curious what kind of impact that will have on our screen. We'll have a new Co-HW and at least one new breakdown writer. Not sure about the script writers but I am definitely curious what these new voices will bring to the show.

June and Ted actually make perfect sense to me as a couple. The potential for drama writes itself. I believe the show should go for it, and they had nice chemistry.

Here's my theory on the Naomi freak out over losing the rings.... it's a delayed reaction to the falling apart of her parent's marriage.  Naomi is the adult in the relationship between herself and her parents... so when her mother fell apart after the divorce.. Naomi had to put aside her own feelings to be the parent to Dani and Chelsea.  It also explains how invested she is in Derek/Ashley's relationship because she doesn't want to see them break up.

Now that Bill/Hayley seem to be a thing,Dani has sort of move on a bit from what she was doing a few months ago, and Derek/Ashley have reunited.. Naomi has a moment of calmness in her life.  So while the loss of her rings is a minor thing on the surface.. to her, that was the trigger that let her finally express her own feelings about the break up of Dani and Nicole's marriages.

As I said before, I think June being Samantha and Tyrell's mother came out too soon and should have pushed back to a season 2 story while season 1 should have focused more on her getting her life back together.   Had the Samantha/Tyrell bombshell not happened.. then her and Ted having a conversation wouldn't have seemed weird and odd.

The Dani wedding was awful for me and some of the worst acting I've ever seen but today's episode was really great. I actually felt for Derek when he dropped that ring. First time I have ever cared about that story. They actually had several interesting things going on at once. Joey's psychological games, Vanessa being pissed her husband was interrupting her cheating but then them starting to have a moment and Joey just has to ruin it, had to own her, because killing the guy just isn't enough. Girl is going to be destroyed. Very fitting ending for Doug. Solid Naomi and Jacob scenes. I can do without Ted and June but I kind of get it, he likes crazy side chicks, they could do something with that.

Dr. Theodore Richardson:  "Family is the most important thing in the world to me.  More than words can say!"  (Except I barely know my own two grandchildren, have no idea they've reconnected with their biological mother, have no idea their mother now works in Orphey Gene's, and therefore I don't have a clue who you are, ma'am.)

That scene REALLY made Ted look silly.

I didn't see it as a "chemistry test".  I think June was destined in the script to find Naomi's rings, and she needed another scene to justify her salary for the episode.  So the breakdown writer sent Ted into the diner to unload more "wedding ring drama" on her to solidify the episode's Ring Theme.

Poor Doug.  I was hoping Vanessa would reach a certain level of appreciation for him before he croaks.  However, it appears he'll bite the dust while she's rolling around in Motel 6 with her Bargain Basement Tony Soprano.

That scene truly highlighted how little Ted interacts with any family not named Eva at this point. I would love to understand the reasoning behind Martin and Ted being father and son in name only is.

It also highlights how little Martin interacts with his parents and siblings.  (Most of his scenes now are with Smitty & their kids.)  But I suppose Martin doesn't really NEED a father, a mother, and a pair of sisters.  After all, he's got Big Daddy Vernon who wants to install him in the White House, and he's got Big Mama Anita, who's always ready at the drop of a hat to tuck him into bed, read him a beddy-bye story, sing him a lullaby, and pop a pacifier in his mouth.  lol.

The show having so much going on has hampered some of the relationship development.  It seriously seems like the writing team forgets that Ted is Martin's father.

In 7 months we have yet to see Martin do anything connected to his political career.

He's either at home or at a restaurant.

So much could be mined from him having an office, some staff (at least an assistant) and some plot related to being a politician.

It doesn't even have to be an "elaborate" office.  When we saw the footage of Jan 6 2021, we repeatedly saw the office of Nancy Pelosi (and she was the Speaker of the House at the time). Her office wasn't anything gigantic or ornate.  It was like an insurance agent's office with a flag in it, lol.

If they would stick Martin's young Bubble in a little "junior congressman" office, it would open a TREMENDOUS amount of storyline for him (and Smitty), involving fictional bills, colleagues, corruption, compromising, maneuvering, negotiating, and campaigning.

If they're frightened of "party affiliation", that's silly.  I think MOST of us probably assume Martin (as a young Black male from the East Coast whose grandfather was a civil rights pioneer) is most likely a Democrat.  Just identify him as a Democrat, and roll with it.

Uh that's a lie.

Martin has a FOINE assistant that we saw a couple of times that goes over his political stuff. And outside of that, we have seen him have congressman moments by his phone. And it's plausible usually when he does have said phone calls at his house...and not once have I felt he needed an office...though yes, that would be nice.

@Faulkner and I were just discussing this yesterday. So much has been going on that would be better enhanced by using so many relationship developments. Martin/Ted, Andre/Kat, and until recently Hayley/Caroline (for example) were relationships that would have so helped get some POVs and established character out there. But turned into missed opportunities.
