Tamara Braun is adding another soap opera role to her already impressive résumé.

PEOPLE can exclusively announce that the two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress, 54, is joining The Young and the Restless.

She will be playing the role of Sienna Bacall, who is described as someone having "personal connections to several characters" in Genoa City. Braun will begin taping for The Young and the Restless next week, with her onscreen debut coming this fall.

Good for her, but does anyone feel like the character's first and last names don't go together well?

Yes. It feels like someone made a list of soap names and connected two random ones.

Lord. Good luck girl.

And yeah, that name is so fake. Someone just wanted to ref Lauren Bacall.

Bless her, but she’s becoming the Queen of the short-term soap stint. My assumption is this will be no different.

In fairness to her bank account, her last unnecessary run (or two?) at DAYS lingered on for years IIRC so she got paid.

My 2008 self (when I still had hope about this show)  thinks that she will be Jennifer Foster.

Sarah Joy Brown is my choice for Jennifer Foster; this, to me, feels like a code name for Tara Locke, or someone else previously on the canvas that is returning.

Given how prolific the trio is, it's surprising that this is the first of the Carlys to do Y&R.

SJB would be amazing.
A code name, love your positivity.
I'd rather see Grace Turner show up with a young daughter, than Tara Locke. Never cared for that storyline.
I just hope she is not another random psycho.

Now that Y&R has become the Cane show once again she’ll probably being a back from the dead Juliet 🙈

You're likely joking but this is Y&R so ...

Juliet was played by the actress Laur Allen who is half Chinese.  The character Juliet spoke Japanese and worked in the Brash & Sassy Japan office.

I don't think they'd do a Blair-OLTL style retcon?  But then again they took away Cane's Australian accent.

Brown just visually works as what I would imagine Jennifer Foster to be. And I just think Braun would really take the concept of Tara Locke and develop her better, especially after Billy Flynn's casting as Cane/Aristotle.

I agree age wise she should have been Jennifer Foster.  (I also thought Sarah Brown would have been good too) but TPTB are never ever going to acknowledge any past Brooks, Fosters or Prentiss legacy characters other then a sweeps stunts like Theo being Stuart Brooks grandson with Dina.

TB is a a good actress so that will elevate the crappy writing she’s going to get.
