What are you talking about?  Shanice did nothing unprofessional at all.  I thought she was great today.

Shanice wasn't unprofessional. Ashley's the one who walks away from the desk so she can talk to other people (her mother, Andre) for 20 minutes. How about we reprimand her?

Some of the dialogue today was giving Iyanla, Fix My Life and I wasn't here for it.

I have to agree. A little goes a long way. I don't mind a slower-burn episode, but too many conversations were like Afternoon Specials.

Also, why would Derek go all out at the gym the day before a triathlon?

He wouldn't. It's just this show again painting Derek as a big dumb jock. A guy like him would not be so ignorant about training for a triathlon or for anything else. Are they going to hospitalize him AGAIN? Sorry, that's overboard.

This show can spare me seeing Ashley take care of injured Derek again.

-- Ashley says living with Derek was a disaster. She's clueless about relationships. The stuff they "fought" over was just ridiculous.

-- And then Ashley tells Derek they're over before they start? This girl is too immature to be in ANY relationship.

-- There was NO subtext in the scene with Hayley, Bill, and Randy. If Bill knows Randy -- and it's hard to believe he doesn't -- there should have been. And yes, completely absurd that Randy would go to Hayley and Bill's house. Makes no sense.

-- The  Devon scenes were fine. Nothing special, but fine. Ending the episode with his brief connect to Dani was weird. Why should we care that they ran into each other?

True but knowing how this show portrays the character, if they ever get specific I can guarantee it will be for an acting Oscar and not just producing a documentary or even doing a new song for a film ;)

Yep -- Anita Dupree did not win an Oscar for producing Best Animated Short.

She's clearly written as someone who won an acting Oscar. I've said it before -- it's a stretch to make these people so famous and so laden with the top awards. I didn't need her to be an EGOT to believe she acted in movies.

Agree - Dani was calmer today and her scenes with Bill were truly good. Bill being emotional hits you for sure, I liked it.

HA one of the pitfalls of soap opera crossovers ;)

Maybe I read to much into stuff but I almost thought the way Devon said they were doing “great” kind of quickly had a subtle “they aren’t really, but I don’t want to talk about that right now” vibe. Haha

That about sums up Devon.

Ouch.

This entire plot is confusing- first the entire miscarriage lie Hayley is telling and wouldn’t Bill know who Joey’s supposed hitman Randy is?

The show needs a story editor who can keep the continuity of the show together so it makes sense.

It's a convoluted mess and it's not the first time it happens. (remember Nicole saving Sherry from jumping off the terrace and then Sherry being left by herself...)

Weird ending.
And OMG Devon is like watching paint dry and has been like that since 2003.
Please keep him away from BTG

what was more dumb is WHY was Randy even there? Why would he show up and risk Bill spotting him? The meeting at the house made no sense. Why would Hayley give him access beyond the gates and have him as a complete stranger over by breakfast the next morning?

He was supposedly returning Hayley's belongings but yeah, it was dumb and perfectly in line with the rest of this convoluted mess of a story lol

lol...thanks and it is. So this stranger had time to tak her to the hospital, go back to Uptown for her phone, back to the hospital and at her house the next morning? He could have just left her things with the hospital and have Bill send someone to get them. He really isnt asking obvious questions which is dumb considering he is a defense lawyer and his job is to poke holes at stories that dont make sense

That irked me too. Sherry/Dana attempted suicide and they just let her leave the hospital alone. If medical staff evaluated her and deemed her to be low risk, at minimum, they would have someone pick her up.

I took it as Bill assumed Randy didn't want to use his real name and Bill didn't want Hayley to know that he knew Randy so he went with it.

I agree that this is the only workable explanation

One big mistake BTG has made is not giving Hayley a talk-to character.  They should have cast her mother, or sister, or someone with whom Hayley can express her wants and needs -- which would have allowed the viewers to know her motivation.  Hayley could be BTG's version of Erica Kane, Lisa Miller, or Rachel Davis -- but those three wonderful bad-girls all had mothers to talk to, and who would set them straight occasionally.

I hate to be "that person" but the way the scriptwriting is set up, it seems that Dani is the one that's supposed to be the Erica Kane type of the show.

When Cady McClain's casting was first announced, she said on her ig that her character Pamela would be the Opal Gardner to Dani's Erica Kane.  I thought that meant that Pamela would help ground Dani.  It hasn't turned out that way!   But maybe Cady was just speaking about the idea of two very different people being friends, and being her ride-or-die.

After Erica Kane's mother Mona died, Myrtle Fargate took on that role of the older motherly confidante/friend to Erica, which Erica needed after the loss of Mona.

Dani sort of has Nicole in that role, the big sister she confides in.   Dani leans on Vernon but confides in Nicole.

My gut tells me that Cady only meant it in a more superficial quirky 'best gal pal' character, but I doubt Cady knew much about the history and deeper relationship between Opal and Erica since Dixie didn't have a ton of scenes with them directly (only more directly with Opal, Erica/Dixie weren't ever really connected that often, and when they were, it wasn't overly friendly haha).
