Well if that's the case I think that was a poor decision.

It's awkward enough when a new show is forced to recast early b/c an actor is inadequate, but to have an intentional recast in the wings, no matter how the first actor is doing is misguided.

And for the recast to happen right at a crucial moment?

Maybe they should have cast someone who at least evoked Keith physically if that were the plan.

I can't disagree with any of that, especially about having someone cast who evokes Keith physically.

The truth is that BTG has been hit-and-miss regarding casting. We have some amazing talent doing great work on one hand and giving us some of the best in daytime, while on the other we wonder why some actors were ever hired and are glad to notice improvement after almost 5 months.

Then we have the hires whose ages don't work at all while we have to pretend that's OK.

Self-inflicted wounds? Yeah.

Now with Ted being major in the storyline that wouldn't have worked. I just don't think Maurice was that bad or Keith that good that the whole thing was necessary.

I 💯 feel this. I don't think NuTed's acting is all that great to have justified such a switch so early on. And I'm not here lying to myself that Maurice was the best actor, because I shared my thoughts very clearly and honestly from day one, but he wasn't the worst either.

I feel like this is a matter of the artist being too close to the subject. Someone really wanted Keith for the role and they couldn't have them right away so they placed someone else there, but they couldn't let go of the original idea or thought. Keith could have easily played a different role.

Honestly still a mixed bag for me. lol. I would rather continue to see the continuing A-plot-ness of the Silk Press storyline. However, coming off of May Sweeps, it does have to be built back up again. I guess I don't like how it has teetered between being a B plot some parts of the week and a C plot other parts. In fact, this episode reminded me of why. I liked the beat of Nicole in her awesome power suit seeing Eva. I continue to love Kat/Jacob vs SilkPress. And the layers of Silk Press Sheila not only trying to recruit Tomas as her own Olivia Pope for her own reasons, for PETTY reasons (to stick it to Kat), and using the meeting (well the writers) to farther work on that Eva/Tomas/Kat triangle was superb. There's just so much in play within it...and we only have gotten to PART of the story...that it really could stay frontburner. Just layers. Though I understand why it can't.

I would rather focus on the other A story of Martin's Secret if I can't have the focus on Silk Press Sheila. But that so far mostly stays as a C plot. So that leaves the writers to go back to the other A story of Dani/Bill/Hayley. Perhaps it's because we are 3 months into the show and those first two weeks were awesome with the focus on them, but I still feel it's too soon to go to that well. I do appreciate that the writers found ways to keep them around each other. I also love that they were allowed to branch off into other storylines. Well...everyone, but Hayley anyway...but still...

I like how Bill's storyline has progressed. Another thing that I've liked about the writers have been how they usually don't keep one character in one light. And I really loved that we got to see Bill's villainous side in how he was manipulating Martin and Smitty. So of course, his other storyline about his hand tremors came back up to put him in a nicer light. And this episode watching the focus on his family and their feelings was good. Hayley's jealousy over Dani's presence was hilarious. And Naomi and Chels being there in spite of their feelings for Hayley was also good. And Hayley can stay insecure because Bill and Dani STILL have chemistry. Meanwhile, I liked the little subplots (Dani/Andre, Chels/Madison) going on beneath the surface.

Speaking of people and their layers...KAT!!! smh. The fact that I should be on Veronica Mars's Kat's side and still find issue with how she's going about it I feel is great writing. And I really feel her and Jacob should have their own spinoff at this point because they are so funny together. Meanwhile, Kat vs Silk Press Sheila continues to give. I do feel there's something going on in that story whether it's an old school soap baby switch or baby taken at birth so if it turns out that Kat got switched with Eva...those dynamics between Kat and SilkPress are going to be a meeesss.

Can I just mention how much I like Chels and Madison together? It's something new and refreshing. And I actually don't mind it.

And nice cliffhanger with Eva realizing that the helmet and gloves are missing.

Trivial note...God, Jacob is so pretty.

I would say another mixed bag. And it's not that it wasn't good. I just felt disappointed.

I've been enjoying Anita's story.  From having nothing going on with her to her being in the thick of things, it's been good for me. First, Anita having issues about singing. And then the hints of a reunion. Then Tracy's arrival. Sharon's arrival. And then the hints of Sharon being a schemer. All of that...to have the Articulates not only making up...but running off to Chicago to get ready. It just felt too abrupt to me. But I liked their reunion. I hope they make it back soon. Preferably for the police fundraiser.

Meanwhile...Dani/Andre. I might be in the minority, but I do love them together. And watching them grow over the last three months. I've mentioned that they have hit the 3 month 'what are we?' point that most relationship...real, not really, situationships, whathaveyou...hit. And it's been nice for me to watch them over the last two weeks as conflict and tension has popped up from that. From Ashley getting a clue to near misses like the Vernon one in this episode to organic drama within, I continue to find them fascinating to watch. And of course, the latest drama being Bill in the hospital...le sigh. Then we got that close Bill/Dani moment before Dani and Andre headed to Orphey Gene's...not to mention Ashley giving a glance at Andre at the elevator. It's occurring to me that given how people are slowly cluing into Dani and Andre, that the main people who aren't are the ones namely I'm looking forward to seeing find out ie. Ashley, Bill, Anita. I feel that's where the real mess will start.

I didn't mind Madison and Chels this episode, either, though I admit they were a little dull this time around.

And you know I'm happy to see Nosy Nurse branch out into a story that isn't just her at the nurse's stand gossip. YES, QUEEN!!! lol. If anything being Bill's PT, she should be able to get even more tea! I can't wait to see it and who she'll interact with.

I'm finally up to date. Disclaimer - I'm sorry if some of my thoughts may disturb people who come here to only read positive comments. I mean no harm. ❤️ Quite the opposite actually.

Some hardcore negatives - lack of background music makes a lot of these scenes absurd, empty and cringe. When Tomas is trying to "act" and talk like a human being... and Dani is staring at him like she can't remember if she was in his DMs last week... there needs to be a hint of music. Please cover all that bad acting with something. Don't make me hear every breath Tomas aka "Google AI"... takes.

Ashley and Derek make my skin crawl... Ashley pretending to be stressed that her porn-actor boyfriend is going to break up with her... was next level cringe. They should decide what she is, because her characterization is very messy.  Also... why the hell is Andre even talking to her anymore?  "With a woman like you... I'll never let you go"...  he tells her... And then she proceeds to tell him she'll go home and take a shower... Good decision. Can she just... catch the bubonic plague at the hospital and just disappear from the canvas. Give someone else that airtime. Stop trying to make Ashley happen.

A positive - Martin is getting better and better. He is the type of melodramatic actor, that I can stomach and tolerate and even like. He tries very hard... and sometimes it works. A huge improvement from the start. Brava!

I never thought the day would come but Derek has grown on me. I feel like that week where the story was heavy on Derek and Ashley was some sort of breakthrough for him. He seems more comfortable in his scenes and he's watchable when with other characters. I thought his scenes with Leslie were hilarious and he has chemistry with Haley, Jacob and Naomi.

I used to like Ashley but the way they write her is so tiresome. The only time I like her is as a supporting character interacting with Naomi or her mom. They need to drop the Andre/Derek romance angle and figure out who she is and how she fits on the canvas and then start fresh with a new love interest.

I was recently watching 'season 1' of Bold & the Beautiful... and I had forgotten that Brooke had a whole ass relationship with a cop named Dave for the first months of the show... and that relationship eventually ended within the first months of the show before she was thrown in the Ridge/Caroline/Thorne orbit fully.

So I wonder if Ashley/Derek are like that... together at the start of the show and eventually they'll break up and either end up with other people.. or are written off the show.   I think the writers/TPTB know that the two aren't a match or else why all the weirdness/awkwardness between the two characters.

If so, I wish they would hurry up and break the two up.. and have them move into different orbits of the show.

This is why I'm really looking forward to the fall. My hope is that once they've had a time to look at viewer feedback they make some adjustments to things like this. It's clear they plan on both Ashley and Derek being around but they gotta put them in better stories for that to happen. I'll be disappointed if come fall they haven't changed course for them.

I agree with all of this.

Madison is doing too much. Its unethical for a doctor to be dating family of her patient. She's acting like a giddy school girl
