We don't know exactly what his actual contributions were. The exec producer/ co-writer credits may have been in deference to his position in the industry and also a way of paying him more.

I'd assume he was all over the show helping to set things up, but likely didn't dictate as much as showing them the ropes and giving inputs on things like long-term story projections. I never assumed he'd stay on for long as it's not his passion project and he's at an age where he could retire.

Please let the mob and the casino go with him.

Please, indeed! ❤️

I’m most familiar with Thompson’s tenure at Y&R where she was in a trio of Co-Hw’s with Altman and Passanante. The “Avery Years” as I call it since Avery dominated the show. Had its good and bad moments, often cumbersome, but was mostly harmless compared to what occurred before and after their tenure.

I did appreciate at the time the work Altman and Thomson did to try to fix Sharon for a good while there and make her sane again. (Of course Pratt would blow that up with the whole “Sharon is the new Sheila!”)

I saw none of Guza's magic injected into BTG. Was he there in name only? It's a shame his talents weren't used to their fullest.

I was looking forward to a Guza May Sweeps, and this felt the complete opposite. I agree, it had to be in name only.

Sadly, instead of hiring another male to help co lead the production/writing... they picked another female.

That's a bad decision. I have no problem with a female running the show, but the male perspective is very lacking in the writing. So, a co-lead male strong voice is much needed.

I disagree.   Most shows don't show the female perspective enough.  As a female, I am enjoying BTG with the production staff and main characters being female.   I don't see that perspective enough on most shows.

Thomson also has ties to both Josh Griffith (Y&R) and Robert Guza Jnr (GH), so while I'm not her biggest fan, I can say she is tied into the daytime community. And she has worked with Chuck Pratt Jnr on both Y&R and Secrets of Sulphur Springs, which for a modern Disney Channel series, did not look half-bad.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings.

While I've enjoyed BTG's May Sweeps, I wanted to see an old school Guza Sweeps just to blow the show up to a whole other level. Tracey...I'm not sure of what Y&R stories she was involved with to get a feel for if I will like them or not.

As for Guza's influence, I'm sure that will be obvious once he's out of the building. But I also assume he is the one responsible for Joey and the casino and all things tied to gangsters. Perhaps even the crooked cops storyline that is currently on the backburner.
