Point taken. It will be interesting to see as time goes on whether her look is modified/matured. -
This is the style the show has for Kat https://wornontv.net/beyond-the-gates/kat-richardson/ and https://www.shopyourtv.com/tag/kat-richardson/ It seems to be an intentional look with an aspect of men's tailoring as part of the style of most her outfits, with miniskirts

Paul, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but isn't Kat a larger-than-life personality? She is performative, and playing dress up seems in character for her.

I watched every Daytime Emmy broadcast from 1985-2011 and 2020 onward and the best years were 1985-1999.

I'm that person and I own it. I just find that look so performative. She comes across as playing dress ups. Will anyone back me up? ....anyone?? -

I didn't even bother. And to trot out Lauren and Michael who are hardly on and don't have stories... It must be a money saving situation. -
I recall a scene between Phillip and Chelsea that was played with Bolger--I think it was the characters' first major conversation--but soon after that Grant returned. Chelsea working in PR at Spaulding made little sense. At least Blake was supposed to be qualified. Never understood why Alan was willing to give Chelsea that job. He seemed to really like Chelsea as Phillip's girlfriend, too, which made less sense, as she was even lower on the social scale than Beth. Wait... Just thought of something. Took her storyline? Was CHELSEA originally supposed to be Alan's spy to help him get Spaulding back? Were they going to become lovers? Is THAT what Maureen meant about her being "wild?" Yikes.

The ball had a certain and-now-for-something-different charm back in the day, but yeah, it's just too polished, too much of an "institution."
