Frantz got the last laugh landing at BB two months after being let go at SUBE. Her replacement Jennifer Banko was a snoze. SUBE dumped the character 3 months later.

I believe at Passions they recast Jessica was their first but Mary Elizabeth Winstead quit

Thanks. I thought there was a Hank recast but maybe not.

I am derailing the thread so I'm going to stop - apologies.

Maurice had EXCELLENT chemistry with both. I really hope the new guy can as well. I really hate recasts most of the time.

I’m with you on all of this. Never seen Keith before though.

At the Paley Center event Sheila Ducksworth said they had just filmed the last week of April, so Ted must've been recast before the show premiered.

The character of Santana never recovered from being recast. All the actresses in the role were good but the original was perfect for the role and the only one who was interesting. I was very disappointed to see her go when I watched the show in recent years.

I've recently begun Sunset Beach and I actually just got to Tiffany's recasts exit. It's very bizarre because they didn't even try to make her work. I don't understand why they didn't just let Adrienne Frantz play out what we left for that character. She was great on the show but it was a blessing in disguise because she got 15 years of work from the Bell's once she got fired.

Not who I would've picked. I'm surprised. Friday is apparently pink slip day. Makes sense, though, you don't want a disgruntled ex-employee hanging around all week. Method to the madness & I do think they must be a little mad to dump Ted, not Derek or Martin. As a fan I am concerned.

Absolutely; everyone post-Ava Lazar just kept getting lost, and the writing kept getting worse and worse for the role. The only one that came even relatively close was Margaret Michaels but, by that time, it was too late.

I'd happily take daddyTed as a Jonah Carver recast on DAYS. This is a damn shame. I hate recasts, but it is what it is. I don't know anything about this guy they're bringing in, but I wonder if it could be because Maurice Johnson was too likable and MVJ is set on having Ted become a surprise villain? Johnson made it very easy to buy that Leslie would lose her mind over losing him. Hopefully we hear from Maurice Johnson soon and he'll soften the blow.

This is all part of my master plan to bring Maurice Johnson to GH as NuJustus while in no way employed by the soaps.

But in all seriousness, it is an odd change and I do have to wonder if it's down to his simply not being up for the daytime taping grind.

You'll hate me for saying this, but I realized watching the other week that Brandon Claybon's voice reminds me so much of how Joseph C. Phillips speaks. Obviously, the latter is a talent, and somehow Claybon feels completely unnatural, but I had to share that niggling thought.

Some of these new soap fans wouldn't have made it back in the day when GH had four or five Dawns in 18 months, all the various AJs, and lord knows how many versions of Lucas. Recasts are just going to happen lol.

I haven't really watched any of this show, but the one time I saw him, he was good. I have to imagine he just wasn't up for the grind.

I’m pretty shocked…not gonna lie! There was nothing wrong with the actor playing Ted so I’m curious if there’s a reason why?

also was hoping it was Derek too!

I don't think Derek is going to be recast because I think it's clear he's only going to be around for storyline dictated reasons and will be naturally be gone sooner rather than later.

    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
