I feel like Martin/Smitty were written to be a straight couple and were changed at the last minute.

TBF, isn't the point that Martin is trying to be "respectable" by trying to be as heteronormative as possible? I mean, they're what? Early 30s and they already have two children that they've raised for a few years now? He's also made Smitty give up his career, same thing as we're seeing with Haley and Bill right now.

We'll see how much they're willing to adress this, but this is clearly not how the average hot gay couple would live at their age.

Yeah… Martin is an abusive dick and I hope Smitty cheats. I like the storyline though, but I still don’t think that the lack of chemistry is intentional. And I also still think that Andre and Dani’s fling should be used to cause a scandal for him as well.

I like Jacob and Naomi too but I’m not really sure how he isn’t facing any disciplinary action for not doing anything after Dani pulled the gun. Same can be said for Martin. That should be another scandal for him, which could help build up the conflict between him and Smitty. Maybe a hot reporter and former colleague of Smitty can investigate, which could lead to Smitty cheating.

And yeah, I don’t mind the set design of Bill and Hayley’s house but I will admit that that couch is hideous 😂😂

-- I'm looking side-eyed at the lack of affection/desire between the married gay couple. Yes, things are strained, but we still could have had a hug (or more) from them by now.

A 1985 Steven Carrington hug? Oh how nice.😂😉

Ya'll are missing what the writing is telling us. Martin and Smitty are not in a good place. This isnt about straights vs gays. Their chemistry is off bc they have marital issues and seeing how Martin is, it makes sense. Martin is very controlling and quite selfish and there is a disconnect between them which is affecting their intimacy

Yup!

If you were not watching from day 1 and following closely... The way Martin and Smitty are acting... You would think Smitty is Martin's personal assistant. Only the "You know I love you" that is a substitute for any type of closeness... does the work.

Very insightful comment! I have even noticed in the way scenes are staged, at least twice I've noticed Smitty was posed in a way that Martin towers over him, making him appear subservient.

'Miss a day, miss a lot' is back - I get behind for a day or so and y'all create 10-20 pages. 😩

Andre's diction is throwing off the closed captioning: "Nice pic."->"Nice pig."; "No lie there."->"No leather." 🤪

I like Dani crazy and all so I'm biased, but I thought the Dani/Hayley scenes yesterday were much more subdued and I was pleased with them. Do I need them to do another two rounds of this next week? No, but it seemed like turning a page, as Hayley said.

The house being so tacky seems like Hayley's taste (and as someone else said, a nod to classic soaps in the old days showing a working class character splashing out with chintzy nouveau riche stuff). I like her but girl was splashed out at home dressed like Anora.

Martin is creepy and apparently a touch psycho. Smitty deserves better. Is there a hunky cousin or nephew somewhere that can break his back so Smitty (must we call him that) can stay in the core family?

The dialogue has improved by leaps and bounds in week 2 and the last two days in particular, but that is likely partly a function of getting so much heavy exposition out of the way. I do hope Jazmen Brown(?) isn't gone-gone, they did good work. I'd also like to see MVJ just writing again on some of these scripts with that first week out of the way, and credited for it - her dialogue work on GH was so immaculate, though B&B is such a different (bad) show.

Also... IF... and that is just an IF... Martin only wanted to adopt these kids years ago... to improve his image and political agenda... then... that's disgusting. There are people like that, I don't deny that... but it's just so wrong. Adopting should never be about advancing your career. I don't care how good it makes you look.  I'm still not sure if that is the case. I'm just commenting, because I saw that sentiment and speculation being repeated a lot.

The entire thing with the adopted kids is going to be a problem in the future. I have no idea why these hot late 20s, early 30s looking gay men are written like they are in their late 40s, early 50s... the whole vibe around them is so dreary and... bizarre. They do resemble a middle aged straight couple in terms of dynamics. And a boring one, may I add. Again - it's just the beginning, so I'm OPEN for improvement and still happy that THERE is gay representation on the show. I don't want to sound ungrateful. No, no, no! (with the voice of Erica Kane)

And Martin... Smitty may be your husband, but he is not your possession. The whole "your promised to do this" manipulative shtick can work only between pathetic characters like Ridge Forrester and Brooke Logan. I expect more from this show... so Smitty - step your sh-t up and shine bright like a diamond. Ditch that negative energy and find yourself a cute bear that can represent some different body shape than the usual hot as possible actors on soaps. LOL.

We'll see.

Anyone find it wierd of Naomi to introduce Andre as "My uncle Ted's nephew" instead of just saying thats my cousin?

I really hope I'm proven wrong and the Martin smitty cheek kiss was a story point and not anti gay stuff from P&G

I'm interested to see if Joey will be related to someone like Ashley or Derek

We love it, don't we?!?! The good 'ol days of American soaps are back in true form, albeit a new and formidable soap.

I completely agree; Dani was much more sharp with their tongue in regards to Hayley, and I did love that. Between calling her a child bride to Chelsea and then talking about having a woman-to-woman talk with Hayley, but settling for her. It was sharp.

She is living in her own fantasy world, and it's interesting to watch and will be even more interesting to see how it continues as the year moves on.

There's no evidence this exists, John.
