Ashley starring in a documentary... come ON... too contrived. I had to LOL at her, Dani, and Andre all together, and Andre (in my interpretation) being hung up on Ashley but lying to Dani that he's so frustrated he can't just jump her in the middle of the hospital.

Naomi taking her clients back to Crimson Lights... uh, Orphy Jean's, a potential jump the shark moment. Too bad because the rest of the scenes in this storyline were fire. Bill's subtle intimidation and pseudo nice guy routine was very slick.

Dani made it sound like Ashley and Naomi have been friends since they were young... a little confusing if Ashley is starting her first job while Naomi is 30 and has her own law firm... maybe this is a second career for Ashley.

Ok, that was the first time I enjoyed Dani.... good dynamic with her jumping all over Chelsea's thing that's supposed to be her own and asserting her independence, but Kat actually thinking it's not a bad idea... very manic energy from Dani and I loved Chelsea tuning her ass out. Dani seemed genuinely excited and trying to be helpful and she just didn't get it.

Tomas is a jerk to ask Kat to interfere with Naomi, and that fantasy was ridiculous.

Good girl Eva, deny everything... but you know... just by putting that camera there once, now she knows better than to try anything in that office, so Kat actually did something smart.

Vanessa and Joey have real chemistry... I might be one of the few who doesn't love Lauren B's acting, but it visibly improved alongside an experienced vet. Am I the only one who thinks his mother is long dead, haha.

Yeah I don't think there's a mother.  Perhaps Joey has learned that Vanessa does hookups at real estate homes, and he might join in, or blackmail her, or whatever.  Or, perhaps he wants a fancy home to set up for laundering his criminal activities.  Or he's just messing with Vanessa because he wants to control her finances.  Or all of the above.

-- I'm seeing here that many people think Bill "won" in those scenes with Naomi and the other women. I disagree. I think he's as dumb as his dumb wife Hayley, and I don't know how he gained his reputation.

No lawyer worth a dollar would hit those women with that spiel. And don't get me started with how dumb those women were for opening up to him at all.

-- I'm struck by how much improvement we've seen by so many in this cast. A lot of them -- Kat, Andre, Chelsea, Naomi, Eva -- are really stepping up and are markedly better.

-- Tomas continues to be wooden, and it doesn't help that he was part of so many scenes today. I actually thought his best scene was the fantasy scene with Kat. That was the most natural I've seen him.

-- Ashley is a wet dishrag. Subtext or not, she's a dud. If we can't see why Andre would be nuts about her, then she doesn't work.

-- Joey and Vanessa might have chemistry, but let's not pretend they're anything other than a bigtime criminal and a slut who will sleep with anyone who looks at her.

This may be a dumb question, but where the heck does Chelsea live? She must have her own place since it's not with Dani or anyone else that I'm aware of. Is it on the estate? A house or just a condo/apartment? I want to see those digs, and the fun she gets up to.

The original casting breakdown:

❝ "Cheryl" is a Black female in her early 20s. She has been a successful fashion model since she was 18, even though she’s been reluctant to work in that field. Cheryl has been tasked with recreating the world that her mother, Sara, gave up. While modeling may not be her desire in life, Cheryl has made a good deal of money. She has a dream to design a line of purses, building her brand in the process, and eventually design a chic but affordable clothing line. Cheryl’s no stranger to coke, which she considers to be the perfect drug. Cheryl, however, can put it down whenever she wants… ❞

It's her coke addiction (that everyone assumed was Dani's) that has yet to make an appearance, if that's still the route they're taking. Nothing about a condo; we just know she lives in the D.C. area.

I can agree with this if you add Kat as well.

It’s my favorite feud on all soaps right now.

Eva is EVERYTHING. Impossible for me to root against her because the actress is just so perfect. You would think she’s been playing Eva for years!

We don’t need another two week break from her!

I have yet to see the Tomas actor show a single emotion or move his face once. And he was on way too much today to be so bad.

I don't love the documentary idea for Andre and Ashley. I do like the idea of a documentary (a great way to catch a secret on camera for a reveal) but not for this story. I feel like they should've made Andre a doctor so they could naturally be in each others element. Either that or make Andre and Jacob friends to justify why they're around each other so much. Using the hospital as a meeting place for a nurse and a photographer is completely unnatural.

Oh, I agree with you 100% regarding Ashley. We know her mother, Jan, raised Ashley as a single mother. Perhaps Jan was involved with Joey, and he could be her biological father? Imagine Upstanding Nurse Ashley having biological ties to Fairmont Crest's seediest criminal.

Meanwhile, Derek can get killed off during November sweeps, and I wouldn't shed a tear; he's that uninteresting.

And I do wish they would develop a friendship between Ted and Doug since they're both doctors and have connections. It could also be where they confide in each other about their issues too.

I also want some of the Dupree family connections explained. Andre has had more scenes with Ted and Nicole than their own son. I wonder if it's because they were busy with their careers and societal obligations to pay attention to Martin, hence why he's closer to Vernon and Anita. And someone on Twitter had mentioned it should be a rivalry between the male Richardson cousins over that, and I would be here for that too.

I'm still enjoying the Eva vs. Kat rivalry going on though; that fantasy with Kat and Tomas was cringe galore. And the actor who plays him contributed greatly to that. I said this on Twitter yesterday, but is Darnell Williams still teaching acting? Maybe he could go down to the ATL for some sessions.

And Joey and Vanessa do have chemistry, as I suspect Joey's motives toward her aren't fully altruistic, as this is a way to twist a knife into Doug.

Kat v Eva sees Eva coming out in front. I find Kat annoying-the dopey outfits and her acting.

Mind you she looked like Meryl Streep in the scenes with Tomas.

I do feel for some of the actors who need more rehearsal and direction, but it seems there's no time.

And the dialogue needs work-when Tomas told Bill he had the Sword of Damocles hanging over him I was like ..what?? Pros like DD can make it work but some of the others...

And on my bigscreen TV the lighting is too bright. And things look stagy. You can hear the actor's footsteps. Y&R doesn't look like this me.
